Transferring Credit to IRSC
As part of the admissions process, incoming students must provide IRSC with official transcripts. Student Success personnel will enter eligible coursework into the student record. Students can work with an advisor to determine if transferred coursework meets equivalency for their selected pathway.
Military Credit
All military training, experience or coursework that is recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE) will be evaluated if the student provides IRSC with a transcript of that training or coursework and if the credit is applicable to the student’s degree or certificate program.
Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)
Indian River State College may grant course credit for students who have acquired knowledge equivalent to college credit through work, experience or prior knowledge. PLA is an excellent option for working adults, active-duty military and veterans, experienced volunteers or anyone who has acquired collegelevel knowledge to earn college credit. Learn more about competency validation by contacting the IRSC Information Call Center at 1-866-792-4772, or send an email to info@irsc.edu.
Paying for College
The Financial Aid Office helps students find the resources to pursue their educational and professional goals. More than $40 million dollars in financial aid is awarded annually to IRSC students. 7
