Graphic Design and Visual Communication Concentration

Express your creativity and gain a competitive advantage in the multi- faceted graphic, web, social media design and visual communication industries by studying Digital Media at IRSC and earning your Bachelor of Applied Science Degree. As an IRSC Digital Media student, you will develop your own body of work, reflecting strength in corporate identity, package design, advertising, web design, animation, typography and more. Upper-level coursework will broaden your knowledge in technical applications, art and design, interactive media, and the interdisciplinary nature of art, technology and science.

Career Connections

Each student in the Digital Media program completes a public portfolio exhibition where industry professionals, hiring managers and art directors from area companies get the opportunity to meet with students and see their work, resumé and career readiness. IRSC graduates go straight into good paying jobs directly out of the portfolio exhibition.

Graphic Design/Digital Media Club

The IRSC Graphic Design/Digital Media Club sponsors two ArtistTalk events per year, where students, faculty and members of the community give six minute TED-style talks about their work or a subject related to design or art, and two Student Video Screening Nights, where IRSC students have a chance to show their video and animation work in a public forum. The club also travels to Art Week in Miami every December to attend Art Miami, Context and Aqua, and several other international art expositions.

“I graduated completely debt free . . .

I left IRSC with a Bachelor’s Degree and a portfolio that landed me a great job. The teachers cared about both my experience at school and my future as a designer. I love my job, and my success has certainly been a result of the real-world experience that I was exposed to in the classroom at IRSC.” —Caris Haggerty, Creative Specialist, WMTEK IRSC Class of 2017
