Begin your career as a valued member of the healthcare team—trained to prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist! Pharmacy Technicians measure, mix, count out, label and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders. Graduates of the IRSC Pharmacy Technician program take the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination, and may seek employment in a retail pharmacy, hospital or nursing facility.

The IRSC Pharmacy Technician Career and Technical Education program is a selective-admissions program. Final consideration is based upon the completion of the following prior to the application deadline. Applicants must • Be at least 18 years of age prior to the first day of class; • Have a high school diploma or GED®; • Complete the IRSC Application for Admission; • Complete the IRSC Health Science Application and pay the $30 application fee; • Ensure all official transcripts are on file at IRSC Student Records; and • Consult the Pharmacy Technician Application Book for additional application requirements. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify. The Pharmacy Technician program at Indian River State College is accredited by the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists (ASHP). GED® is a registered trademark of the American Council on Education (ACE) and administered exclusively by GED Testing Service LLC under license. This material is not endorsed or approved by ACE or GED Testing Service.
