The draft masterplan, funded as part of a $1 million grant from the State Government’s Jobs and Regional Growth Fund, has been developed in consultation with industry stakeholders and key user groups and provides a roadmap for the long-term improvement of the precinct, which is home to Isaac region’s iconic Clermont Show.

Mayor Anne Baker said Clermont Showgrounds and Saleyards were important not only to the Isaac region, but the state of Queensland.
On-site community briefing and consultation sessions will be held at the Heritage Building at the showgrounds on Saturday 16 February at both 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm.
“We’re a region that feeds, powers and builds communities. The Isaac has a $212 million beef industry and maintains the State’s second largest cattle herd. The Clermont Saleyards hosts regular stock sales, but is also a significant cattle trucking centre for the state. “The annual Clermont Show is one of Queensland’s oldest and most beloved regional events, last year celebrating its 150th anniversary. We’re eager to future-proof our iconic events and continue supporting our great beef industry.” The draft masterplan plan identifies a range of improvements over the next two decades, including four key milestone projects comprising: • Acquisition of adjacent land to create a new Showgroundsisaacrcouncil Primary Entrance and the development of carparking • • •

“I encourage all members of the community, particularly our key agricultural user groups, to have their say on the proposed outcomes on the masterplan,” Cr Baker said.
The masterplan can be downloaded from the community engagement portal on Council’s website isaac.qld.gov.au/community-engagement. Hard copies are also available at council offices.
