Josh Arnold with local school students, Ruby Kelly and Kate Lockyer record Clermont’s town anthem as part of the Small Town Culture project.
An invitation to celebrate Clermont Clermont is inviting young and old to celebrate the town’s very own anthem and professionally filmed video clip at the Small Town Culture Clip Launch.
Local Councillor Barbara Stranks said this song competition captures the small rural community’s stories and local talent and celebrates community pride.
The video clip launch will showcase on the big screen in Clermont’s Centenary Park at 6.30pm, Saturday October 17.
“I am proud of the Clermont community for coming together to put on such a fantastic production,” she said.
Clermont entered the Small Town Culture competition earlier in the year, which was open to all regional communities with less than 5,000 people.
“Thank you to Josh Arnold for recognising the wonderful spirit of the Clermont community and helping us create a vibrant legacy for our town.”
The unique gold mining town placed second in the competition, with votes tallied according to the number of ‘likes’ on the competition’s Facebook page.
Clermont’s official video clip will be available to view on Council’s website www.isaac.qld.gov.au/clermont
Despite placing second, singer/songwriter Josh Arnold was so taken with Clermont’s community spirit he offered to work with Council to bring the Small Town Culture Clip to town. “We loved the vibe and energy in Clermont. The whole community has been so supportive of this music video and the spirit of the town has certainly moved me,” Josh said.
Clermont joins other Small Town Culture winners’ anthem’s including ‘Rock’in in Rolleston’, ‘Song for Theodore’ and ‘Baradine – we are a family’ available to view on YouTube. For more information contact Isaac Regional Council on 1300 472 227.
