Gizmos and gadgets on show at Isaac Libraries Gizmos and gadgets are set to take over Dysart Library for the inaugural Isaac Libraries Tech Fest. E-resources, apps and robotics will be on display from 10am to 2pm, Saturday October 22. Mayor Anne Baker said Isaac Libraries have so much more to offer than just books. “The 2016 Tech Fest is a great opportunity to try the exciting new technical resources coming to your local library. “There’s something for all ages to enjoy like Ozobots, Osmos and Spheros for the kids and e-resources and apps for the young at heart. “The day will also feature the FIRST Lego Robotics Teams from Moranbah, Dysart, Glenden, Middlemount and the coast.
“Teams will come face to face in a robotics challenge to show off their new tech skills learnt over the last 10 weeks. “Coding and robotics is now an important part of the curriculum in schools from prep to year 10. “Isaac Libraries are able to provide another avenue for kids to explore the world of coding and robotics to help develop their skills.” The Isaac Libraries Tech Fest was made possible thanks to financial assistance from the Queensland Government through State Library of Queensland and goods and services from FIRST Australia.
