“When I dressed myself in the first trimester, it sometimes felt like I’d just looked like I’d overdone it on the cake. I wasn’t ready to embrace bodycon yet, but baggy styles felt shapeless and unflattering. I quickly came to a compromise, with well-cut shirts and dresses that skimmed my new bump. I immediately felt like I was continuing my original prepregnancy style as opposed to compromising it. My advice would be, ‘use trial and error’. And if it feels good, the chances are it probably looks good too.”
“All of us enjoy the “woohoo, maternity leave” thought that flashes through our minds when we discover we’re pregnant. For me that initial joy was sobered with the realization that I’d be working through most of my pregnancy.
