How and when it started We exist because we couldn’t find the products we were dreaming about. So we made them.

It’s 1999, two years before the first iPod launched. If you wanted an aquarium it had to be a glass box, there was simply no other option. We didn’t want a glass box so we designed an aquarium we wanted to own. It had to be simple. We thought about the needs of the fish and the needs of the owner. The fundamentals had to be right. We threw away the rule book and started with a blank sheet of paper. The result is an aquarium where everything is integrated into one design instead of many component parts. Back then, we had a fully working prototype but like all startups, no orders. Not one. Everyone we showed it to really liked it, and yet we were told “The aquatics industry doesn’t need a design-engineered aquarium”.

From then … Who cares about a cold Thursday in October?

We do. Thursday 19th October 2000. It was a big day for us. That was the day we got our first order. At last, someone believed in us. We began working day and night until we completed biOrb order number one. Then the phone started ringing and more orders followed. Our ideas were becoming real.

… Till now Fast forward to today.

Over the years, we’ve grown and right now over 1,000,000 people enjoy keeping fish with a biOrb. We’re bigger now, but we still chase ideas. We still dream about products and we’re still true to our pioneering roots. We believe improvements and breakthroughs only come by having ideas, asking questions and testing. At heart, we’re still dreamers.

The biOrb adds nature to any room. biOrb uses design to expand the idea of an aquarium. Bringing calm into your workplace or home where a traditional aquarium may not fit; either in size or appearance. Introducing biOrb Earth: the first and only vivarium that’s as beautiful as the animals you keep in it

How does it work? Air filters Fresh air enters the EARTH from a fan drawing it through an activated carbon pre-filter to keep it pure and free from any contaminants, such as aerosols … … this new air displaces some from within the tank which is exhausted through activated carbon filters in the lid’s wings.

Authentic 3D temperature gradients On biOrb EARTH’s floor, a substrate heater cable maintains ground temperature. Mounted at the rear of the tank is a temperature control unit (patent pending). Using a solid-state Peltier and fans, air is constantly recirculated within the tank – heating and cooling as required.

The humidity your animal expects C A

biOrb EARTH’s ultrasonic mister (A) is built in with its own dedicated fan and tank hidden at the rear. What’s more, there are also twin integrated, directional nozzles (B) to create rain inside your biOrb EARTH. Two sensors (C).

Here’s how the filtration works

1. Air driven filtration system creates vigorous water flow and a constantly changing water surface. This maintains oxygen saturation. 2. The circular flow of water then collects any fish waste on its way down.

4. Any remaining waste is trapped in the sponge cartridge. The water then passes through resin particles and natural stabilisers to remove toxic substances and keep the pH levels constant. 5. The clean water is then oxygenated as it flows back up the bubble tube to repeat the cycle.

3. It draws the waste through the ceramic media where the natural biological filtration absorbs some toxins. The freshly oxygenated water also feeds the bacteria.

How does it work? 1 The biOrb AIR uses sterilized coir compost as the growth media to cultivate your plants roots. The coir compost is placed on top of a capillary mat which gently draws water up to it from a small water reservoir in the base.

3 To discourage stagnation and condensation a constantly running fan recycles air through a replaceable carbon filter. A small amount of fresh air is regularly introduced as part of this circulation process.

2 Natural daylight is not necessary. The LED lighting is arranged in a circular pattern at the top of the sphere. They emit the perfect light output for encouraging natural growth and prevents plants bending towards a single light source. Plus, the light also works on an automatic 24 hour cycle, simulating sunrise, daylight, sunset and night time.

4 To maintain the humidity within the micro-climate, water is added using an ultrasonic mister mounted in the top water reservoir.

Guarantee OASE GmbH offers a manufacturer’s guarantee under the conditions specified below; the respective duration of the manufacturer’s guarantee is marked based on the product. The guarantee period is also provided in text form with the product. The term of the respective guarantee period starts with the first-time purchase of the new product from the authorised OASE dealer. If the product is resold, the guarantee period does not start over again. The guarantee period is neither extended nor restarted through guarantee performances, nor do legal warranty claims arise on guarantee performances. If the guarantee is not expressly specified, then OASE provides a guarantee in the scope cited below: The prerequisite for claiming any guarantee from OASE, including the extension guarantee, is that the customer must have properly and exclusively installed original OASE spare parts when replacing parts, or for a repair or for any kind of improvement. If products from third-party manufacturers are installed, any OASE guarantee is rendered null and void. At our discretion we provide a guarantee through free-of-charge repair or free-of-charge delivery of original spare parts, or of an equivalent replacement device. If the type in question should no longer be manufactured, we reserve the right, at our discretion, to deliver a replacement device from our product range that most nearly approaches the type that was the object of the complaint. Reimbursement of expenses for removal and installation, checking, claims for lost profit and compensation for damage, as well as reverse transaction claims are not included in the guarantee, likewise more extensive claims for compensation of losses, regardless of the type, that have been caused by the device and its

use, are not included in the guarantee. The guarantee only applies for the country in which the devices were purchased from an authorised OASE dealer. According to these conditions German law with exclusion of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG), applies for this guarantee. The legal rights of the purchaser, in particular arising from the warranty are not affected by this guarantee. Defects or damage due to faulty installation or operating error, as well as insufficient care or the use of unsuitable cleaning agents or neglected maintenance, non-intended use, damage, impact, the effects of freezing temperatures, etc., cutting of the plug, shortening the cable, limescale deposits or improper repair attempts, are not covered by the guarantee. In this respect, relative to the intended use, we refer to the operating instructions; compliance with the operating instructions is the basic prerequisite for any claim arising from the guarantee. Wear parts, e.g. bulbs, etc. are expressly not a component of the guarantee; wear parts are specified in the operating instructions of the products. If there is a guarantee claim, please contact the OASE dealer, who sold the product to you. If this possibility does not exist, you can assert claims arising from the guarantee relative to OASE GmbH, Tecklenburger Str. 161, 48477 Hörstel, Germany, by sending to us the product that is the object of the complaint, carriage paid, and at your transport risk, with a copy of the original purchase receipt of the authorised OASE dealer, the original guarantee certificate, as well as written specification of the fault that is the object of the complaint.
