ABOUT ME
ISABEL RAMIREZ
My affinity for design was ignited at an early age, through an extensive expansion of the small city I grew up in, Palmdale. During that process, I became aware of how each of the smallest decisions affected the function of each home being built. Thus, my passion for the world of interior design was born. Through my training at CSU Sacramento, I strive to be the best I can be. My value not only lies in my aesthetic, but in my enthusiasm, intuitive nature, and the intentional details in every element and project I design.

WEBER POINT COMMUNITY CENTER STOCKTON WATERFRONT Weber Point Community Center is a new development proposed to be located along the waterfront in the center of downtown Stockton, CA. The community center will serve the local community of Stockton, which is made up of primarily lower to middle income families, living in moderate to low income housing and apartments just inland from the waterfront. Weber Point Community Center is a contemporary building with good neighborhood visibility, easy site access and ample parking. It also includes a vast lobby area with scenic views of the surrounding city and Stockton waterfront. The community center will offer a safe and secure place for people of all ages to gather and access various community services, as well as provide a secure and professional environment for the staff soon to work there.

ARTS & CRAFTS ROOM
My goal for this project is to provide a space that connects the individuals within the community. This building will be a center for recreational community services and information exchange. Upon entering the facility, the lobby area will serve as the hearth of the building to further invite individuals within.

The lobby area will have large windows and high ceilings, allowing individuals visiting the center to enjoy the view of the city and waterfront. With informational display cases near the doors, visitors are able to feel involved and aware of community events and issues..

ARDEN BIRCH FURNISHING CO. INTRODUCTORY COURSE TO 3D MODELING This project was the first course in which I used 3D modeling in SketchUp to further convey the concept of my design. The main objective of this project was to design a unique feature wall for an administrative office lobby. From there, we were to design an accompanying reception desk, a monumental staircase and railing around the atrium lobby spaces.
My inspiration for this project was to replicate organic shapes for the feature wall of the lobby. The vast amount of circles seen were inspired by custom made furniture made entirely of birch trees, which was the starting point of this project. I also looked at the intricate details seen in leaves.

THE SACRAMENTO MUSEUM 401 I ST, SACRAMENTO, CA 95814 My greatest goal for the Sacramento Museum project is to create a participation-oriented museum for individuals to further revitalize the surrounding community. Through its cooperative engagement between individuals and local exhibits, the museum will thus explore and generate completely new activities as an overall grand museum. I seek to awaken the Sacramento Museum’s creative energy to become a compelling regional attraction. Furthermore, the museum will serve as an open classroom, providing an optimal environment for individuals of all ages to see, touch and experience art within the exhibits.

ORANGE is associated with stimulation and enjoyment. Therefore, this color selection works well for the café because it creates a pleasant social environment for visitors. TEAL is uplifting and energetic; it has the earthy quality of green combined with the lofty nature of blue, creating emotional balance and stability. It radiates peace, calmness, tranquility and growth. GRAY is a cool, neutral and balanced color. It can be a formal, conservative and sophisticated. Gray can also be considered to be a timeless and practical color, suitable for the art gallery here in the museum. GREEN encourages intellectual thinking, as well as provides a sense of security. Here, the use of the color green was used to associate the exhibits within to the outdoors and with nature itself.

HOUST0N MEDICAL CENTER GREENPARK MEDICAL OFFICE BUILDING III COLLABORATION WITH KIMBERLY MARKS The Greenpark Medical Office Building III is a renovation project planned to accommodate nine floors of private practice medical offices. In an effort to pre-lease office LEGEND space to prospective physicians before the renovation is completed, specific design studies intended solely for marketing purposes must be prepared. For the Greenpark Medical Office Building III, our original design intent was to create a medical center for children. This concept thus influenced our choices into selecting vibrant colors, finishes and materials for our medical office development. However, the end result was a contemporary development that encompassed both open mobility and ease of access. -

NURSES WORKSTATION - OVERALL
In our lobby, we included suspended aluminum panels to make the space feel grand and make it easier for patients and visitors to find help upon arriving. Free flowing spaces and open mobility are seen in the two corridors within the structure, which also exemplify our interest and goal of incorporating the outdoor views and surroundings into our structure. At the nurses’ station, we included bold curves in our design to add a sense of importance to the area itself. From there, we located all the physicians and staff members towards the rear of the building.

THE CUBE CONCEPTUAL MODELING These conceptual models were created from the most humble of materials: corrugated cardboard and balsa wood. The transitional process of design moved from cardboard to balsa wood, and later to a full size habitable model that a visitor could enter, sit in, and enjoy the view. The focus of this project was to create a pavilion with no specific purpose other than an artistic expression of design without the necessity of functionality. Simply stated: a space that is created for its beauty, solely to be beautiful.

necessary to bring people together so that they can get to know one another, learn about one another’s cultures, and develop common interests, concerns, and goals. Yet, especially in large cities, people often live either in isolation, or surrounded only by others who are similar to themselves in language, culture, and assumptions. How do we build communities that are trusting and supportive, and that can reflect and embrace the diversity of backgrounds, ethnicity, race, and culture that make up much of today’s society? My proposal to this is the use of cohousing; this form of housing in this locale encourages individuals to move away from the “traditional” views of housing out in the suburbs, and into the city to thus enjoy the historic area, have several great amenities close by, anda be closer to this astonishingly diverse metropolis. This development emphasizes the sense of a close-knit community by spatially creating a centralized and interconnected layout throughout the building. In doing so, this both creates and

Combining a love of food, craft cocktails and music, a live entertainment restaurant and bar was implemented into my design for this mixed-use development.
