PROJECT 1 SECOND TERM. LIGHT AND SOUND 1. What is light?

Light is a bulb on (Andrew S.) The sun gives light (Sofía) Light is a types of energy (Joaquín) Light is energy produced by the sun (Adrián) Light works throughout energy (Lucia A.R.) Without light we can’t do anything (Sofía) We can’t see objects without light (Xan) Light is made of particles (Yago) Some plants need light for growing up (Olalla) Without light we can’t live because plant need light to produce oxygen and without light plants don ´ t produce oxygen (Sofía) Without light we can´t live because we would freeze (Xan) Light can be natural or artificial (Andrew M) Sometimes light can be harmful to our eyes because some lights are very powerful (Mary V)

2.How does light travel?

-Light travels throughout the Sun(Olalla) -Nowadays there ins´t any machine that travels faster that light(Yago) -Nowadays,scientist cannot invent a machine or device that can run faster than light(Xan) -Light travels from the Sun to the Earth (Sofía) -Light travels throughout all the space(Mary V) 3.How do we see colour?

-We can see that colours with a part of our eyes(Olalla) -I think that the part of our eye which helps us to see the colors is the retina(Lucy AR) -We can see the color with light because when there isn´t any light people can´t see anything(Mary V) -We can see the colors with the light because when the light reflects into our eyes the pupil is small; when there isn´t any light the pupils are big and they try to see(Xan) -I think the part of our eyes which allows us to see is the optic nerve(Yago)

4. How does light form shadows?

- The light forms shadows because if there is an object, if it is opaque the light can’t pass through it. (Yago) - The light forms shadows when an object doesn’t allow a light to reflect on a surface. (Xan) 5. What is the difference between transparent, translucent and opaque?

-The difference between transparent and opaque is that the transparent object doesn’t allow the light to pass through it. (Lucy AS)

-There isn’t any difference between translucent and opaque (Itziar) -The difference between transparent and translucent is that the object which is transparent allows the light to pass through it and the translucent object doesn’t allow the light to pass through it and at the same time it reflects the light.

(Yago) -The translucent object allows the light to pass through it but it has colors. (Mary V.) -With transparent objects we can see through the material, with opaque objects we can’t see through the material and with translucent objects we can see but not very well. (Andres S.) -With translucent objects we can see the light but we can’t distinguish the object and with opaque objects we can’t see anything. (Sofia)
