Water lily The term water lily generally flowering aquatic plants that grow in lakes, ponds, pools, marshes or slow-flowing streams, usually being rooted in the background. The leaves and flowers can be submerged, floating or emerged, and are evergreen and deciduous depending on the species. One of the most beautiful is the European white water lily.
