Innovative software interface from Smart-e

ISE 2010 sees AV solution designer and manufacturer, Smart-e Limited, launch an upgrade to SmartiP, the company’s innovative software control platform that provides the interface between the User and a centralised matrix and distribution system. New benefits include eco-friendly advantages, power saving, display life extension, plus preventative maintenance and alarm monitoring functions. smartmix-pro, a commercial mixed analogue and digital HDMI system, and Integrated Display Management for high-end digital signage solutions, are just two systems being showcased at ISE 2010 with SmartiP, whilst visitors to the Smart-e stand will be able to view how SmartiP works on other solutions, including third-party equipment.

New upgrade to SmartiP When Smart-e launched SmartiP in mid 2009, it saw the company leap from being a designer and manufacturer of equipment, to a total solution provider. SmartiP combines analogue and HDMI switching with display control, giving a single overall control interface for either third party control systems or through Smart-e’s fully functional web browser. SmartiP offers multi-format, multi-user solutions a single control point, via a touch screen, and provides ‘green’ elements such as increasing screen life and reducing power consumption. The upgraded software provides an interface that, Smart-e believe, is unique, providing flexibility with ease of use. Additionally, Smart-e has improved the visual display of the system to make it easier to view and use.

Available as an integrated option on all new Smart-e AV distribution matrices, SmartiP can also be retro-fitted to existing Smart-e systems, and can be branded with installers logo and details, helping to raise the installers profile with their customers.

New matrix, the smartmix-pro smartmix-pro is the latest high powered matrix from the Smart-e stable. It is a commercial HDMI solution mixing analogue video sources with digital media in one unit. smartmix-pro allows digital content from both HDMI and DVI devices to be distributed, over long cable lengths, together with traditional analogue devices, including PC, VCRs, DVDs and cameras, as well as high resolution devices such as Blu-ray, games consoles, HD set top box (Sky, Free, Sat), and video servers. smartmix-pro combines local and remote connections, and can be IP controlled, using SmartiP. This unique combination of features is easy to install and use, and provides a flexible, scalable and inexpensive AV solution for a wide range of uses for large systems.

Integrated Display Management Utilising Smart-e’s Integrated Display Management allows Digital Solutions system status to be checked remotely, for example to check that all screens are working, or that they are off at the end of the day, without physically visiting each location. This facility helps extend screen life and reduce power consumption, limiting a system’s impact on the environment. Such management makes the control of large systems much easier, can reduce operator time, and provides the opportunity to monitor the system closely to ensure it remains operational.
