SEWISTA SHINRIN-YOKU This issue we took our inspiration from the Japanese term, shinrin-yoku, – forest bathing – a long, relaxed stroll amongst the trees. You let go, mindful only of your body, nature, and your movements. For a little while, the rest of the world simply disappears. Only you remain, enjoying the here and now in a beautiful natural setting. This quiet, slow journey is a form of meditation and a cure for stress. For our shoot, we went forest bathing in and around the Sonian Forest, my second home. Packed and ready to go – and luckily assisted by rolling transport – we dove into the mighty forest. Blissfully zen, we created a beautiful shoot featuring 31 gorgeous items – a giant Sewista bath for you to immerse yourself in. After all, in my opinion, leaving the world behind for a couple of hours in favour of your sewing machine can also be restorative.
