Vivaldi’s Pizza Son opens Connecticut-based business in Pittsﬁeld

On Monday, November 17, Vivaldi’s Pizza opened its first Massachusetts shop under the ownership of Irrahim Turin. Irrahim is the son of Ercan Vivaldi who started Vivaldi’s Pizza in Bristol, Connecticut 10 years ago. Irrahim said he had worked with his father learned the trade, and decided to try it out in Massachusetts to see how it would go. Having friends in Pittsfield,

he found an ideal location between Tractor Supply and Sarah’s Cheesecake, got everything in place and ready and opened the doors on Monday to what he hopes will be a long and prosperous business. The smell of pizza cooking filled the air when I walked in, and was immediately greeted by Irrahim. He was back and forth to the ovens keeping an eye on his pizzas. Working with him are Sam Demir and

Alex Ozdemir. With its big front windows, and bright lighting the shop offers a nice eat-in area that holds 9 tables and room for 36 people to seat comfortably and enjoy the many selections of food that Vivaldi’s offers. The huge open kitchen was immaculate, and I was able to stand there and watch the food being made. The menu is chock full with many, many choices of everything from hot dogs and hamburgers to salads and pasta specials, all at very reasonable prices. Besides those items it includes Italian, Seafood, appetizers, Buffalo wings, wraps, tripledecker clubs, desserts, soups of the day, platters, grinders, homemade pita and hot or cold sandwiches. We must not forget the pizzas, which they make in 21 varieties and three sizes. Also there is a list of 12 specials that give a 25% discount off the regular price. Catering is available for special occasions with a 24-hour notification in advance. Delivery is available to the Pittsfield and Dalton areas right now, but may expand. Irrahim said they also did a mailing of the menu to the area households, so expect to see them soon. Trying out their menu at lunch was tough. We had trouble deciding what to try first. There were a couple of pizzas ordered and I decided on a roast beef wrap, which was huge and stuffed to capacity.

For now Irrahim is still living in Connecticut and commuting, with plans to move to the area next month. Vivaldi’s Pizza is located at 898 Crane Avenue, Unit 201A in Pittsfield.
