Oh sea! Sparkling blue! Sparkling truly, weren’t you? Waves of teal touch sands of gold, stories new as they unfold,
now washing up with shreds and scraps, Once glowing and pretty, It was perhaps !
Huge piles calmly stand, Castles of sand, or a garbage land?
Decorated with shells and stars, or bottles and cans and bags and jars?
Seagulls glide and swiftly dive, hunger struck, for food they strive...
Teeny-weeny casts of crabs shyly peep out from their homes;
homes that once were spiral shells, and now are glass and plastic domes.
Turtles paddling up and down, tearful in the trash we threw;
Oh sea! Sparkling blue! Sparkling truly, weren’t you? Oh sea sparkling blue, sparkling now, why aren’t you?
