I read my dua when I’m awake Allah Ta’ala’s Name I take, With my miswaak I brush my teeth I wash my face and hands and feet.

I read Fajr before the sun rises Mum says in Jannat I’ll get my prizes.

Midday comes and the sun is high, Azaan is called and swiftly I fly. fly Rushing to read Zuhr Salaah, The muazzin says: “Come to success, come to Falaah!”

In the afternoon I wait For Asr I don’t want to be late. I put down my Musalla all ready, And read my Salaah slow and steady.

5

Now the sun has set Maghrib Salaah I must not forget.

And then the night has come, Supper is over, my homework is done. My eye on the watch I keep, To read my Esha before I sleep.

GLORY BE TO ALLAH TA’ALA I went one day to the zoo, To see the animals and what they do; I saw elephants, big and fat, I saw monkeys playing with this and that. I saw giraffes with their necks so long, I heard the birds burst into song.

Made, Every shape and size, every colour and shade.

Glory be to Allah, the Most Great, the Most High, Who created animals, the earth and the sky.

I went one day to the beach to play And saw the waves wash up and

away, In the golden sand I built sandcastles And collected shells in many, many parcels.

Seagulls flew high and low Looking for fish in the water below, I saw ships moving on the sea The sea spray splashed all over me.

the Most High Who Made the sea and the fish, and the birds that fly.

I looked up at the sky one night And saw millions of stars shining bright, And with them shone the moon aglow, And together they made a beautiful show.

Allah Ta’ala made the ocean He set the waves in motion.

Glory be to Allah, the Most Great, 9

And I knew that Allah Ta’ala made them all, Every animal and star, big and 10

small. Every leaf on a tree, all the raindrops that fall, All the food that we eat, Allah Ta’ala Made it all.

Glory be to Allah, the Most Great, the Most Wise, Who Made everything in perfect order and just the right size.

MY MOTHER My mother is so very, very sweet, Paradise lies under her feet. I must do as I’m told, Whether its hot or its cold.

I must bring her food, chocolates and tea, And listen to what she says to me. For all she does I must say Jazakallah, I must always be good, Subhanallah.

12

I must never be rude to her or get mad, To do so is very, very bad.

In my mother’s stomach I grew, As a baby I stuck to her like glue, Now when I get bigger, I must always love and respect her.

Never, ever must I shout at her or yell, If I do, I will burn in Hell. Everything she says I must do, Even if I don’t want to.

I love my Mum, I really do, You must love your Mum too!

And when she gets old and weak, With respect and patience I must speak. And help her all the way, ‘Cause when I was small, with me she used to play.

THE LETTER MEEM

®

What a wonderful letter is Meem, It makes words glitter and gleam. With Meem MUSJID is made, the place where we pray, Where we read Salaah five times a day.

MADINA Where the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam lies in his grave, Meem his name MUHAMMAD does engrave. ME’RAAJ is a miracle journey, MIFTAAH with Meem becomes a key. MAGHRIB is the prayer at sunset, MAA is water that makes you wet.

Meem makes the Holy city of MAKKAH, And also the Blessed one of

With Meem we get all this and more, Like MAIDAAN, a field of war. Meem is an Arabic letter, That makes words sound so much better.

THE TRUTH

FLOWERS

I must speak the truth in all I say, When in class, or when I play. To all people, no matter who they are, I must speak the truth and I’ll go very far.

In red and pink, and yellow and blue, Flowers come in different colours and different shapes too. Some are multi-coloured, others shaped like bells, Each with different, lovely smells.

If I did something wrong the truth I must tell, Even if people scream at me or yell. Till the day I die, I must not tell a lie, No matter how big, no matter how small, I must not tell any lies AT ALL!

So now whenever you see a flower, Thank Allah Ta’ala for it every minute and every hour.
