DOST Siquijor turned over P7.5M in 2016, assisted 10 MSMEs

SIQUIJOR (PIA) – Over P7.5 million were turned over by the government to at least 10 micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in the province of Siquijor last year. The furniture sector received 15 percent of the total amount this year or PhP1,149,978 that includes NR Builders and Dongon N Balababa Enterprises as beneficiaries. The remaining amount was allocated for the agricultural processing sector with Jutba General Merchandise as beneficiary.

Since March is National Women’s Month, the team hosted the Information Drive/Forum cum Feeding for Day Care and Elementary school teachers and students of the New Corregidor Elementary School in Barangay Calunasan, Larena, Siquijor on

March 22, 2017 and Special Education (SPED) students, persons with disabilities (PWDs) and their parents at Enrique Villanueva Elementary School on March 23. The parents are also members of the Gihi Usang Ginikanan na May kapansanang Anak (GUGMA), a group of parents with physically and mentally challenged children in Siquijor under the leadership of Joselito Maghanoy of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) here.
