Island highlights
Situated in the beautiful blue Pacific, Niue is one of the world’s smallest countries situated on one of the largest coral atolls on earth! Crystal clear water is perfect for diving, snorkelling and fishing-all features of a visit to this little island paradise.

Niue is recognised as a fishing paradise. Situated in deep water, the fishing starts as soon as you hit the water. Black, blue and striped Marlin; Skipjack and Yellowfin Tuna; red Bass, Mahimahi, Sailfish, Wahoo and Giant Trevally, amongst many others, are commonly caught.
Experienced fishing operators can take care of all your needs and ensure a safe and enjoyable excursion to suit your requirements.
Niue's whale-watching experience is also world-class. During the whale season (July to September) you can see whales from 100m to shore! As Niue’s surrounding reef quickly drops into the deep blue, whales can be seen as close as 20m to shore in some parts of the island.
Pop into the Visitor Centre
Once checked into your accommodation, relaxed and ready to explore - a great 'first stop' is the recently upgraded Visitor Centre in Alofi (Niue's town centre). The Visitor Centre team can give you all the advice you need, plus there's a well-stocked shop offering souvenirs and local handicrafts.
The Visitors Centre also hires modern mountain bikes of various frames and sizes. Golf Clubs are also available for hire. And while you are there, you can take care of the green fees for the Niue Golf & Sports Club’s well-maintained nine-hole, 2,017m (2,206-yard) par-34 golf course which is just opposite the airport.

In 2020, Niue became the world’s first whole country to become a Dark Sky Place. It received formal accreditation from the International Dark-Sky Association as an International Dark Sky Sanctuary and International Dark Sky Community, thus covering the whole country with Dark Sky protection and recognition and deeming it a ‘dark sky nation’.
Niue removes pre-departure test
Travel to Niue just became a little easier with the announcement that from 7th February travellers to Niue will no longer be required to carry out a COVID-19 pre-departure test. Travellers will still be required to self-test on Day 1 (RAT) and on Day 3 (PCR at the Niue Hospital Drive Thru).
All other border entry requirements such as a vaccine pass and travel insurance (for non-residents) remain in place. With active reported cases currently at zero, Niue has shown that cases can be managed, and that the pre-departure test requirement can be lifted.
