2022 - 2023 TOURNAMENT & EVENT GUIDE

Dear Member,

It is with great pleasure that we present the 2022-2023 Isleworth Golf season tournament schedule. As we continue to evolve these events you will notice small changes here and there will positively impact your experiences. In addition, you will find an array of golf events from the monthly stag tournaments to the Bull Fight, there is an event that will suit every need.

Due to the increased enthusiasm in many of our tournaments, it is important to note that you should register for these in events in a timely fashion to secure your spot. Please note that sign-ups for the 2023 Member-Guest and Longhorn will take place the week of November 1 with the random draw for the Member-Guest on November 8th and for the Longhorn on November 16th. MONTHLY MEN’S STAG

Third Thursday of the Month

Our monthly Men’s Stag is a great way to entertain clients and guests and to showcase our world-class course. Stag events include lunch, golf for a foursome, prizes and hors d’oeuvres.

Format

Varies from month to month. Payouts in the form of shop credit will be awarded to both net and gross winners for the day.

The Field Field is limited to the first 20 teams. Teams may have a maximum of two Members to qualify for prizes.

STEWART CUP

November 11 - 12, 2022

This annual event honoring former Isleworth Member and golf legend, Payne Stewart, is a fun and competitive tournament where players from the United States will compete against international players to earn bragging rights for the year.

Format

Ryder Cup format - 18 holes of best ball; 9 holes of alternate shot; 18 holes of single match play

The Field

The U.S. and International Team Captains require even teams for the competition.

FATHER-SON TOURNAMENT

November 25 - 26, 2022

The Father-Son Tournament is an annual Isleworth tradition taking place on Thanksgiving weekend. Fathers, grandfathers, sons and grandsons are invited to take place in this family-friendly event.

Format

One best ball of the twosome. Gross, net and junior champions will be crowned. The Field Field is limited to 40 two-person teams. Teams are comprised of fathers, sons, grandfathers, or grandsons.

LADIES’ MEMBER-MEMBER

December 6 - 7, 2022

This annual spirited Member event features competitive women’s golf and camaraderie.

Format

One best ball of the two; Two-day eclectic scoring. The Net winner will be declared to overall Champions, but the Low Gross winner will also be honored. The Field Consists of female Members who are in the Ladies Golf Association.

This annual spirited Member event features an exciting format and a playoff to win the coveted Charging Bull trophies.

Format

First Nine - Best Ball; Second Nine - Alternate Shot, Third Nine - Scramble, Fourth Nine - Aggregate The Field Limited to 52 two-man teams. Each participant must be the primary Member.

GET TOUGH DAY

December 30, 2022

Our most challenging annual golf event, Get Tough Day will put your golf skills to the test. The professional golf staff will have the course set up in its toughest condition possible, with tees and pins located in strategically difficult positions. Prizes will be awarded to the winners from each of the tee box divisions.

Format

Individual stroke play; Gross and net champions from each tee box; Tiger tee gross champion.

The Field Limited to 100 Members and guests, with Members allowed to invite only one guest.

ISLEWORTH INVITATIONAL

January 29 - 31, 2023

A signature Isleworth event, the Isleworth Invitational is a two-man team, scratch event that includes both amateurs and professionals. The field will consist of Isleworth Members as well as professional/amateur teams from top clubs from around the world.

Format

Two-person team - Stableford points with both balls counting. The champion amateur and professionals will also be awarded.

The Field Limited to 54 two-man teams. As this is a scratch event, it is recommended that the highest handicap that you bring to the event is a 5.

MEN’S MEMBER-GUEST

February 23 - 25, 2023

A perennial tournament at Isleworth, the Men’s Member-Guest experience is unlike any other. Enjoy camaraderie and excitement in this five-round, nine-hole event which culminates in a par 3 shootout on the 18th hole to determine the champions. Wonderful tee gifts, delicious meals and other fun surprises will round out this signature event.

Format

Best ball 9-hole matches

The Field Limited to 60 teams. The draw for the event begins November 1, 2022.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND

March 24 - 25, 2023

This is a weekend to determine the best players at the Club. Gross and net champions as well as ladies, seniors and super seniors will be crowned during this weekend.

Format

36 holes of medal play from various tee boxes, depending on field.

LADIES’ MEMBER-GUEST

March 28 - 29, 2023

Our annual Ladies’ Member-Guest tournament consists of two days of fun and competitive ladies’ golf where prizes are awarded for gross and net.

Format 3 scores on the 5 pars, 2 scores on the 4 pars and 1 score on the 3 pars will count each day for a two-day score. Players must have an established handicap with a maximum of 36 strokes allowed.

The Field 20 four-lady Member teams. Team can consist of one or two Members.

THE BULL FIGHT

April 3 - 5, 2023

An experience like no other, The Bull Fight returns for an unforgettable three days of golf, camaraderie, entertainment and dining.

Format

Forty-five holes of Best Ball strokeplay. Each Member will play their first three 9-hole rounds with each of their guests (with the other two guests competing as a team of two). The fourth round will be team choice (Member picks their partner) and the fifth round will be played with your entire team. The Format is One Best Ball of each team twosome, combining your team’s scores. The fifth round is Two Best Balls of the Four. Players will receive 85% of their course handicap. Combined handicap indexes for flighting. Flight winners will progress to The Bull Fight Shootout. Players will compete in a four-person alternate shot contest over holes 10, 11, 12 and 13.

MEN’S FOUR-MAN CHAMPIONSHIP

April 21 - 22, 2023

The final major for the men’s tournament schedule, this championship pits for-man Member teams against the rest of the field.

Format

Three best balls of 4; Modified Stableford Points

Scores

Net Double Bogey or Worse = 0 pts

Net Bogey = 1 pt

Net Par = 2 pts

Net Birdie = 3 pts

Net Eagle or Gross Birdie = 4 pts

Net Double Eagle or Gross Eagle = 5 pts

• Men are not allowed on course prior to 9:30 A.M. on Tuesdays due to Ladies’ day.

• No guests are allowed prior to Ladies’ Day on Tuesday or Men’s Game on Saturday.

• No Member or guest play on Monday unless it is a designated holiday on the calendar.

RULES & REGULATIONS

MEN’S GAME

The Men’s Game is held weekly at 8:30 A.M. on Saturday’s .

• Sign up before 8:00 A.M. on Saturday.

• Entry fee is $30 cash, due by 8:00 A.M.

• Quota point system is used as a format of play.

LADIES’ CLINICS

Ladies’ golf clinics take place on Thursday mornings at 9:30 A.M. in the short game area. Topics will vary on a week to week basis. The cost for the clinic is $25 per session.

Friday mornings during the season are the ‘Friday Frolic’ - a fun, informal ladies’ gathering to enjoy 18 holes (no format). No sign-ups required. Ladies will meet on the putting green at 8:20 A.M.

COUPLES’ EVENTS

Couples’ events are an informal gathering of golfing couples during the season (please refer to the calendar for event dates). To participate, please contact our Couples’ Golf Chairperson, Carol Thomas, at carolthomas4@gmail.com or 203-536-2440.

DRESS CODE

The following dress code is in effect for the golf course and all practice areas:

• All players must wear a collared (or turtleneck) shirt, tucked in.

• Golf slacks or Bermuda style shorts are allowed.

• Hats are to be worn peak or bill forward.

• Jeans, tee shirts, swimwear, cargo shorts and other clothing not keeping with the standards if Isleworth or the game of golf are not allowed.

WALKING POLICY

Members and their guests are permitted to walk the golf course daily after having received approval from the Golf Professional Staff.

CARTS OR CADDIES

The Golf Professional Shop does not employ cad dies but they may be secured with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice.

Members are allowed to bring up to seven guests at a time with the Member playing in the first group and a caddie accompanying the second group. The second group is considered a spon sored guest group and are subject to sponsored guest play fees and times.

All Member-owned carts that are used on course must conform to Club standards.

GOLF CART USAGE

Trail Fees:

Private cart owners are obligated to pay an annual trail fee. If a Member does not want to pay this fee, they will be charged a cart fee for every round of golf.

Junior Cart Use:

Only juniors that are 16 years of age with a valid driver’s license are allowed to operate any Club-owned golf cart or take a privately-owned golf cart onto the course.

CONTROL OF PLAY

The use of and play on the Club golf course, practice putting green and practice range shall at all times be subject to the control of the Director of Golf and his designated assistants. The Director of Golf shall determine when weather or other conditions dictate the closing of the course or the prohibition of or the imposition of limitations upon the use of golf carts.

MAKING THE TURN

Players stopping or pausing for food and beverages, or for any other reason following the completion of play at hole #9 and before commencement of play on hole #10 may not delay the following groups. Players stopping or pausing after playing hole #9 are required to invite the following group to play through in order to maintain pace of play.

OUTINGS

Isleworth is available for charity events and golf outings on Mondays by written request. Unless open for a holiday, all play is prohibited on the course on a Monday. Please contact the Director of Golf for further information.

GUEST PLAY POLICY

Only golf Members have the privilege of sponsor ing guests to play the golf course. A guest may play the course no more than three times per month or six times per year, regardless of the sponsoring Member. Guests must be accompanied by a Mem ber or given permission by the Director of Golf to utilize the Driving Range.

RELATIVE GUEST PLAY POLICY

A relative guest enjoys a reduced fee rate and is defined as a parent of the Member, a son or daughter of the Member and their spouses and grandchildren. A relative guest fee does not extend laterally (brothers, sisters, etc).

SPONSORED GUEST POLICY

Members are allowed to sponsor a group to play the course if they are unable to accompany them on the course. These rounds must be scheduled with the Pro Shop at least 24 hours before being played and are limited to 10:00 A.M. or 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday-Thursday only.

Sponsored guest play is limited to TuesdayThursday excluding holidays or major event play.

GUEST REGISTRATION

To better serve you, please inform the Professional Staff ahead of time if you will be hosting guests. All play will start from #1 tee unless permission is granted.

INSTRUCTION

We have a staff of skilled instructors that can assist Members with any part of their golf game. As such, outside instructors are not permitted at the range, short game area or golf course.

EXCLUSIVE TEE TIMES

Junior groups shall not be permitted to play on Sat urdays, Sundays or holidays until after 12:00 P.M. unless otherwise authorized by the Golf Profes sional Staff. Club management reserves the right to change or establish additional exclusive times for the use of the Club golf course.

PRACTICE

Practice is not permitted on the golf course or on any of its greens or in/from any of its bunkers or hazards.

• Range balls provided by the Golf Professional Staff must be used on the practice range at all times and are not to be removed from the range.

• The practice range shall be open during such hours as shall be determined by the Director of Golf and Golf Course Superintendent.

• Use of the practice range at all other hours is prohibited unless under the permission of the Director of Golf.

DIVOT PATTERNS

To maximize the grass on the driving range, please place your ball at the back edge of your previous divot. This placement disturbs the least amount of turf and contributes to the quickest growth and recovery of the turf.

GOLF COURSE ETIQUETTE

Please observe the following golf course etiquette at all times:

• Fill all divots with sand, rake bunkers and repair ball marks.

• Member must keep golf carts at least 30 feet from putting greens and follow other guidelines requested by the Golf Professional Staff.

• Slow play is not tolerated at Isleworth. Always keep up with the group ahead of you and do not hold up play behind. Kindly report any slow play to the Pro Shop.

• If any group’s pace of play holds up the grounds behind them and, at the same time, the group has at least one hole open in front of them, they should either play faster or stand aside and let the following group play through.

• There are no restrictions as to the number of members allowed in a group, with permission from the Golf Professional Shop. However, if a group has more than four members, they should stand aside and let the following group play through to ensure enjoyment for everyone.

• Those groups who have been permitted by the Golf Professional Shop to start on the #10 tee will be allowed, as they make the turn, to alternate with groups on the #1 tee.

• Non-playing children or guests are not allowed on the golf course or practice facilities at any time.

• Range balls are not permitted on the golf course.

• Be courteous and respectful to the staff, guests and other Members at all times.

HANDICAPS AND HANDICAPPING

It is the responsibility of the Member to maintain an accurate handicap index for purposes of playing in Club events.

All rounds of golf must be posted (7 out of 9 holes or 14 out of 18 holes are postable rounds) the day they are played to maintain accurate handicaps.

Member and guests must have valid handicap indexes for any Club event and all indexes are subject to review and possible alterations by the handicap committee (per Rule 71.a of the USGA Handicap Rule Book). Failure to maintain an accu rate handicap index may results in an inability to participate in Club events.
