Dear Members,

It has been great to see so much activity throughout the Club as we get into summer.

We had a great group of new and tenured Members attend the first of this year’s Ladies’ Summer Series. We also had a full house with kids as we kicked off the start of Camp Isleworth, and both Memorial Day and Father’s Day were popular events at Shades.

During the summer, Shades is now open later until 7:00 P.M. on Fridays and Saturdays and 5:00 P.M. on Sundays for some evening swimming, fun and dinner. As with all changes, we will continue to monitor Member usage and feedback and may make this a permanent time frame for the summer season, if popular.

We hope you’ll join us for a busy July at the Club, with upcoming events including:

As we go through the summer, we continue to focus on improving the Member experience and adding new Member benefits and energy in all areas of the Club. The ladies’ locker room has seen the addition of an ice bath and the Champions games area has seen the addition of three new games and popular wall games. On the golf course we continue with our lighter summer maintenance, path work and addition of large native areas right of the tee on Hole 7 and also Hole 8.

One of the most important assets of the Club here at Isleworth is our staff. It is only through attracting and keeping great people that we can improve consistency and deliver the highest standards of excellence in all areas. We are very proud of our team and welcome some great new additions, both seasonal and full time to support and add to our strong staff. That said, we welcome our new Director of Facilities Maintenance, Harry Bixler and Men’s Tennis Coordinator, Enzo Marcheschi.

We would like to thank all Members for their tremendous support, and we look forward to an exciting second half of 2023.

Watermelon

Fruit Pizza Easy Summer Snack

This refreshing fruit dessert pizza recipe swaps classic cookie crust with a healthier watermelon crust. Topped with yogurt sauce, your favorite berries and mint, this fresh dessert can easily be doubled for a party or halved for every day.

INGREDIENTS

• 1/2 cup low-fat plain yogurt

• 1 tsp. honey

• 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract

• 2 large round slices of watermelon (1 in. thick)

• 2/3 cup sliced strawberries

• 1/2 cup halved blackberries

• 2 tbsp. torn fresh mint leaves

DIRECTIONS

1. Combine yogurt, honey and vanilla in a small bowl.

2. Spread 1/4 cup yogurt mixture over each slice of watermelon.

3. Cut each slice into 8 wedges.

4. Top with strawberries, blackberries and mint.

Calories per serving: 64

Yields: 16 servings

There are several health benefits that a brief plunge can provide, and we welcome you to experience this newest amenity. We kindly ask that you rinse before using this as lotions, sunscreen, etc. can be detrimental to the filters.

HEALTH BENEFITS

RECOVERY/PERFORMANCE - The cold temperature narrows your blood vessels and decreases blood flow to your muscles, which may reduce inflammation.

IMMUNE SUPPORT - Being immersed in cold water stimulates leukocytes, the white blood cells that fight off sickness. It also causes the lymphatic system to contract, forcing fluid through the lymph nodes.

BOOSTED MOOD - Evidence has shown that a hormone imbalance can contribute to depression and a cold plunge aids in reducing depression and overall mood.
