s we approach the summer season, we are optimistic with the vaccine penetration growing rapidly across the state yet we continue to monitor the evolving updates from the Orange County Mayor and CDC. Most notably, fully vaccinated individuals are no longer required to wear a mask outdoors with the exception of certain crowded settings and venues. We have recently hosted some fantastic new events like the Bike Spin Art Family Night and the Earth Day Garden-to-Plate Wine Dinner. As the hot weather continues, the Shades pool is becoming an increasingly popular place with watersport activities and some great family and adult events. We hope you’ll join us this month for some of our annual favorites such as Cinco de Mayo Family Night, Mother’s Day Brunch and the Memorial Day Pool Party & BBQ along with other May events to celebrate Isleworth’s 35th anniversary including: • Shades of the 70s (Saturday, May 15) – Adults-only disco party at Shades

We continue to focus on improving the Member experience by adding new Member benefits and energy in all areas of the Club. The Tennis and Shades restroom refurbishments are now complete and work is underway on a new 15th tee, extension of the south practice tee and creation of a new turf nursery at golf course maintenance. Community Speed Restrictions: The ICA Board and Security are very keen to see safe streets here at Isleworth, so a couple of cameras have been installed to help them manage this. For both residents and Members, a penalty system has been introduced which includes a warning, fine and then bar code suspension for those breaching the important 25 MPH speed limit. For golfers, community children, walkers and staff working on the streets, it is also important for Members to support this initiative and help us to ensure that we maintain a safe community. We would like to thank all Members for their tremendous support of the team and our events as well as respecting important safety measures and restrictions over the past year. We look forward to an exciting second half of 2021.

REVITALIZING THE CLUB As we constantly strive to keep Isleworth in peak condition for Members and their guests, we are pleased to share the latest refurbishments at the Club.

CLUBHOUSE LANDSCAPING Earlier this year, David Philpott and his landscaping team removed the original theme including the two large Medjool Palms to enlarge the planting area in front of the porte cochere. Sylvester Date Palms were planted to outline the area with Large Purple Bouganvillea Trees used as the main accent of color. Tree form Loropoetalum and Arbicola Trinnette were also utilized to provide year-long accents of color in the overall scheme. The large 3” – 5” multi-colored River Jacks stone was placed to tie in the surrounding landscapes. A Dwarf ixora outlines the different segments of the design to provide multiple viewpoints around the porte cochere. Seasonal color was added to give the Club a changing pop of color throughout the course of the year. Finally, the turf grass in the center of the theme was designed with a higher cut around the edge and the stripping of center to mimic a golf green. 2 2

SHADES BATHROOMS The men's and ladies' pool restrooms were recently uplifted to a more modern yet functional design. The replacement of all flooring and shower tile, streamlined sinks, luxury toiletries by Molton Brown and stylized wall art have been well-received by Members.

LADIES' TENNIS LOCKER ROOM The ladies' locker room at the Tennis Center recently underwent a complete renovation which provided our female tennis Members and their guests an enhanced space to freshen up before and after their matches. Brand new sinks, vanity mirrors, fogged glass privacy wall, shower tile and updated lockers were installed along with high-end wall art.

POOL RULES & POLICIES SHADES DINING RESERVATIONS Tuesday - Sunday, 11:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. Advanced reservations are preferred to not only ensure availability of tables and loungers but to properly manage social distancing, prioritize Members and their families and to make it an overall enjoyable experience for everyone.

LANE SWIMMING Tuesday - Sunday, 7:00 - 11:00 A.M. *Closed from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. on Tuesdays and Thursdays during Aqua Aerobics.

GUEST POLICY In order to maintain the level of safety and comfort we have created over the past year due to the pandemic, it is important to enforce a guest policy of four guests per adult Member or two guests per Member children between the ages of 16 and 18 when not accompanied by their parents. Guests must not exceed six visits per year at the Club.

PARTIES/BIRTHDAYS BY THE POOL All birthday parties and other gatherings must be pre-approved ahead of time. Gatherings of 12 people or more require advanced notice and must be booked through our events team. All birthday parties are conducted on Saturday mornings only between the hours of 10:30 A.M. and 12:30 P.M. The Club needs to balance all Member guests for parties with the importance of exclusivity and ensuring consistency of pool availability for all of our Members.

DRESS CODE All swimmers must be appropriately attired in bona fide swimwear. Cut-offs and ordinary street clothes, such as shorts and the like, are not permitted in the Club swimming pools. Thong-style and/or revealing swimwear is not considered appropriate attire.

SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK Children under 12 years of age shall not be permitted to use the Club swimming pool on a "swim at your own risk" basis unless accompanied and supervised by a parent or other adult (age 18+) who shall assume full responsibility for their safety. Large floating devices may not be used in the Club swimming pool. Life jackets and water wings are allowed.

WEATHER POLICY In the event of inclement weather, the following procedures will go into effect on the pool deck: • Thunder – The pool and splash pad will be evacuated. After 30 minutes from the last sound of thunder, the weather will be re-evaluated and the pool may be reopened. • Lightning – The pool deck will be cleared of all Members and staff and food service will be suspended when lightning is detected within eight (8) miles of the Clubhouse. An alternative dining option will be provided during evacuation. NOTE: In addition to visual surveillance, Isleworth management uses the WeatherBug app to monitor storms.

SWIM DIAPER POLICY For those visiting the pool with little ones who are not fully potty-trained, please ensure that these children wear the appropriate swim diapers/attire to prevent leaks. Accidents require clearing the pool for 24 hours for proper sanitation. Pool staff can provide swim diapers upon request.

TOWEL POLICY Please return all Club towels to the designated location after use.

PET POLICY No pets are allowed in the pool or Shades area as it is a health code violation. 5

Healthy Recipe: H E A LT H Y B L U E B E R R Y MUFFINS FOR MOM With Mother's Day right around the corner and it being blueberry season, this healthy blueberry muffin is the perfect treat to bake for your mom, with your mom or with your kids! A healthy take on the classic favorite, this recipe uses 100% whole wheat flour and is sweetened with either honey or syrup (based on your preference). It also uses Greek yogurt instead of sour cream, which offers the same tang but with more protein and less fat. Enjoy and Happy Mother's Day!

(Yields 12 muffins) • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup • 2 eggs, preferably at room temperature • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract • 1 cup (6 ounces) blueberries, fresh or frozen • 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar (also called raw sugar), for sprinkling on top

P R E PA R AT I O N 1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. If necessary, grease all 12 cups on your muffin tin with butter, coconut oil or cooking spray. 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 3/4 cups of the flour with the baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Mix them together with a whisk. 3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the oil and honey or maple syrup and beat together with a whisk. Add the eggs and beat well, then add the yogurt and vanilla. Mix well (if the coconut oil solidifies in contact with cold ingredients, gently warm the mixture in the microwave in 30-second bursts). 4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ones and mix with a big spoon, just until combined (a few lumps are ok). In a small bowl, toss the blueberries with the remaining 1 teaspoon flour (this helps prevent the blueberries from sinking to the bottom). Gently fold the blueberries into the batter. 2. CRUNCH ON EXERCISE BALL

Starting position: Use a hyperextension bench. Adapt the machine to your measures (bending your upper body should be possible without any interruption at your waist) and lie on it with your finger tips to temples. Keep your back as straight as possible during the whole motion.

Starting position: Sit on exercise ball. Walk forward on ball and lie back on ball with shoulders and head hanging off and knees and hips bent. Gently hyperextend back on contour of ball. Place hands beside head with fingertips to temple.

• Start bending your torso over the pad while inhaling. • Lift yourself up by contracting the lower back to your starting position. Exhale during this motion. • Repeat this process for 8-12 reps, 1-3 sets.

• Flex waist to raise upper torso. Return to original position. • Repeat this process for 8-12 reps, 1-3 sets.
