SPROWSTON MEWS Leep Architects

This project is part of a series of one off houses Leep is involved with along a mews in East London. The brief is to create a good-sized, family home to the rear of an existing victorian terrace. The proposal should be subservient to the main house and respect the developing street scene along the mews. The plans follow the Louis Kahn approach of creating ‘servedʼ and ‘servantʼ zones; a circulation zone at the front, a services core in the centre, (servant zones), and the living, (served) spaces to the rear.

FIVE WAYS TOWER

Leep Architects

This scheme proposes a large development in Birmingham accommodating a mix of residential units. We are currently at an early stage conversing with the planning authority to decide a general massing approach. Physical and digital models have been used as tools to test heights and layouts; particularly number of storeys in context and locations of cores. A grid system approach has been applied to calculate basic sizes and numbers of residential units and to generate simple plans and elevations.

NAVARINO GROVE Leep Architects

This project proposes a small studio built in the rear garden of a residence in east London. Leep had originally done a radical makeover on a new house on the site and the clients asked that we design an additional standalone structure to give them more space. I was primarily involved in presentation whilst working on this project and was tasked to create a singular image that summed up the outcome. The existing house is shown in grey to give the new building more prominence.

Internal courtyard

This project was to extend and internally re-organise a property in north east London in order to create more efficient and valuable residential units. The idea was to create a principle which could then be applied to multiple similar properties throughout the area. Our proposal was to create stacked zones across both flats that are accessed from a straight corridor running from the front to the rear of the property. We also proposed an external courtyard to allow maximum daylight into the lower unit.

GUNTERSTONE ROAD Stamos Yeoh Architects

This project is an internal renovation of an existing second and third storey apartment in a row of terraced houses in west London. Our firm is reconfiguring the interior to maximise the space by adding an extra bedroom as well as an additional mezzanine floor and en-suite in the main bedroom. I have been involved in all stages of this project up to completion. Shown to the right is the staircase up to the mezzanine floor that I designed and detailed to provide access, storage and a feature for the master bedroom.

NORTH END ROAD Stamos Yeoh Architects

This project is an extension and interior re-configuration of the rear of an existing terraced house in west London in order to create 4 residential units. The main challenge with this scheme is to provide sufficient outlook and natural light for the lower ground apartment. I proposed the addition of the double height window throughout the living areas to greatly improve these aspects. The extensions are also angled in order to gain the most light and provide open views away from adjacent structures.

CORONA HOTEL Stamos Yeoh Architects

This project proposes a series of extensions in between the closet wings of an existing hotel in west London. I made the model shown in order to demonstrate the subtlety of the intervention. The extensions were 3D printed in a clear resin to represent the lightweight materiality compared to the solid brick structures created in plywood.

MOWBRAY COURT HOTEL Stamos Yeoh Architects

This project is a renovation and extension to an existing hotel in Earls Court, London. Our firm is extending and reconfiguring the interiors in order to create 138 bedrooms and a modern aesthetic. I have been involved in designing floor layouts, lighting plans and detailing throughout the entire project but the majority of my time has been spent on the rear extension.
