Empowering today's workforce. This is where FSW-TECH comes into play, with a consortium from top organizations in six countries - Slovakia, Slovenia, Portugal, Romania and Belgium and funded through the European Erasmus+ programme. This project ambitious goal is to respond to the welding industry needs and to support the creation of a new guideline for three new professional profiles FSW Operator, Specialist and Engineer.
The 4th meeting of the project took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia on the 12th and 13th of June
This event was hosted by IZV and included a discussion on the final revision of the training materials, working on the European Recommendations Report and further preparation for the Hands-on approach seminars to be held in Portugal, Slovakia and Romania. The objectives of the project are to identify, assess, demonstrate and disseminate towards the steel industry, state of the art technologies and methods to improve the quality of life of older adults in their working environment.

FSW-Tech was presented at IIW International Conference On the 10th of July Luisa Coutinho led a presentation of the FSWTech Project on the 72nd Annual Assembly and International Conference of the International Institute of Welding. The Executive Director of EWF explained the main objectives of the project to strengthen qualification of friction stir welding in the European sector.

On the 30th of October the FSW-Tech and WOW Final Conference will take place at EWF’s premises, in Oeiras, Lisbon. It will present the main results achieved in two European Projects: #WOW – Work Based Learning Opportunities in Welding and #FSWTech – Harmonized Friction Stir Welding Technology Training across Europe. The WOW project aims at enhancing the cooperation between training centres, trainees and companies in the welding sector. A platform was created to monitor the progress and quality of the cooperation between these three pillars!
