Three Post-War Italian Tenor Greats

One of the most exciting aftermaths of World War II for American operalovers was the emergence of a new generation of young Italian opera singers, especially tenors. In the 1940s it was Giuseppe Di Stefano. In the 1950s it was Carlo Bergonzi. In the 1960s it was Luciano Pavarotti. The accounts of their difficult beginnings are very similar, but the stories of their “glory years” are very different. Presented by veteran opera lecturer, Norm Hollingshead. • Tuesday, March 12 - Giuseppe Di Stefano Tuesday, March 19 - Carlo Bergonzi Tuesday, March 2- Luciano Pavarotti • 7 p.m. • Issaquah Library, 10 W.
