Fall Home Tour 2012
Combine work and play at West Highlands Park • The Emerson Plan • 339 N.E. Denny Way, Issaquah • $464,950 • 4 bedrooms, 3.25 baths • 2,167 square feet • Bennett Homes • Mark Winningham 206-226-5713 As aesthetically attractive as its Issaquah Highlands setting, The Emerson reaches even higher with a four-bedroom home design that ingeniously offers far more than meets the eye. This exceptional selection by award-winning Bennett Homes captures West Highland Park’s Cascade foothills spirit amid a neighborhood of breathtaking Lake Sammamish views and nature-graced amenities. Not one, but two community parks beguile neighbors with leisure, recreation and relaxation spaces. Balanced work-and-play living is easily accessible to the I-90 corridor.
This balance in The Emerson begins at its quiet courtyard just steps from the home’s classic, covered front porch. Entry to the home’s two-car garage is sheltered on its opposite side — and conveniently offers a separate, private access to the kitchen. Through the home’s foyer, meanwhile, guests arrive at the apex of its main-level living: the kitchen’s gourmet-suited kitchen — with Grohe plumbing fixtures, European concealedhinge cabinetry, Frigidaire stainless steel appliances and granite countertops — all complemented by a stylish service bar/island. From here, the home’s dining room is framed by grand picture windows and partially sequestered from the easy-living comfort of the great room. Warmth from the great room’s corner fireplace casts a relaxing glow throughout. Up the staircase, the conve-
nience of fresh laundry amenities is discreetly tucked into a utilities closet. Around the corner, a hallway leads to the sophisticated master suite — and a second bedroom suite with its own personal bathroom — defining the quieter tempo of
this middle level. Homebuyers unwind in their own sleeping quarters, access their wardrobe via a full walk-in closet and reserve bathing sanctuary in their artfully-appointed master bath complete with dual-sink vanity, separate soaking tub, walk-in shower and private commode room. Ascending the staircase again, two more bedrooms — both with their own walk-in-closets — offering the home an additional degree of privacy and independence on the top level. When complemented by its superb interior design and lighting, four-star Built Green energy efficiency and inspired natural setting, The Emerson creates a complete home. Driving directions: From Interstate 90, take Exit 18 and go north on Highlands Drive. Turn left at N.E. High Street and proceed to the community.
The Dakota offers vast views of the lake and valley • 869 3rd Place N.E., Issaquah • $669,950 • 4 bedrooms, 3.25 baths • 2,877 square feet • Bennett Homes • Mark Winningham 206-226-5713 Sweeping ridgetop vistas with scenes of shimmering Lake Sammamish are only part of the reward designed directly into The Dakota — a West Highlands Park exclusive by award-winning Bennett Homes. Even alpine-edge breezes stop to take notice of its panoramic Issaquah Highlands setting: unparalleled views surrounding by the boundless leisure, recreation and relaxation space of two community parks — all immersed in fresh Cascade air. Living
and playing within the privacy of The Dakota and surrounding Issaquah Highlands is as close as its easy access to the Interstate 90 corridor. As if this outdoor space wasn’t enough, The Dakota is filled with three levels of practical and entertaining volume. Paired with the home’s tastefully land-
scaped streetscape, classic columns define the welcoming tone into the main-level foyer. Beyond this intimate entry and through the privacy of its central hallway, limitless lifestyle opportunities take center stage. Stylish finishes — from Grohe plumbing fixtures and European concealed-hinge cabinetry
to Frigidaire stainless steel appliances and granite countertops — complement the epicurean kitchen and guest-worthy service bar/island. With seamless expansion, this segues into the home’s dining and great rooms — each as ready for formal entertaining as they are for evenings of quiet comfort. Above the loft-style staircase on the upper level, three bedrooms — including the prestigious master suite — enjoy their own sense of privacy just steps from the convenient clean laundry amenities. Homeowners relax in their own spacious sleeping quarters via grand French doors. This suite is quietly sequestered from its full walk-in wardrobe closet on one side, and gracious bath suite —
2
complete with designed finishes to the dual-sink vanity, separate soaking tub, walk-in shower and private commode room — to the other. Not one but two decks enhance the outdoor livability in The Dakota. Separate decks off the master suite and the dining room offer their own sanctuary, while creating a covered patio respite below on the home’s lower level. Just steps inside, a fourth bedroom — and an enormous recreation room with stunning views — enhance The Dakota’s versatility. Driving directions: From Interstate 90, take exit 18 and go north on Highlands Drive. Continue up hill and turn left on Northeast High Street.

Centerra at Talus townhomes have financing plan • 2183 N.W. Talus Dr, Issaquah • $279,990 • 2 bedrooms, 2 baths • 1,221 square feet • Daniel Poach, 425-391-5317 Sales of phase three at Centerra at Talus are underway, and the opportunity to purchase a townhome in the second phase, where only three homes remain for sale, is coming to a close. The neighborhood of two- and three-bedroom townhomes, located above Issaquah’s Gilman Village in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, is surrounded by 20,000 acres of wooded natural beauty with nearly 200 miles of hiking trails and over 400 acres of green space.
All of Centerra’s two- and three- bedroom designs include two-car garages, and some also have flex rooms and extra storage or shop space. Interiors feature nine-foot ceilings and hardwood floors on the main living level, stainless steel kitchen appliance packages with gas cooktops, Shaker cabinetry and porcelain tile countertops. Currently, Intracorp is offering the last three homes in phase two starting at $279,990. “Not only can you tour our model home, it’s now available to purchase, complete with designer accent walls, upgraded lighting, painted garage floor and a stainless steel refrigerator,” said Jeff Smallwood, vice president
of marketing and sales for Intracorp, the community’s developer. “We’ve had six homes sell in four weeks. The three homes that remain in phase two will not last. “Many qualified buyers don’t realize they can get a 30-year fixed mortgage with only 5 percent down and rates as low as 3.5
percent. “We compared the monthly payments offered by our financing programs to area rents and found that buyers can save up to $500 a month by buying a home at Centerra instead of renting,” he added. Centerra at Talus borders the Cougar Mountain Regional
Wildland Park, one of the largest urban wild lands in the country. Just down the hill from the community is Issaquah’s Gilman Village, which features specialty boutiques, restaurants and services, as well as a transit center for commuters. “With the pre-sale demand for phase three homes heating up, you will want to take advantage of the values we are offering in phase two,” said Smallwood. “When they are gone, they are gone.” Driving directions: From Interstate 90, take Exit 15 at State Route 900/IssaquahRenton Road exit 15 and go south about one mile. Turn right on Talus Drive. Go up the hill about .6 mile. Centerra will be on your left.
