How SolarReserve Uses Issuu to Engage Global Stakeholders & Internal Employees

SolarReserve is a renewable energy and technology company and a leading global developer of utility-scale solar power projects, which include electricity generation by solar thermal energy and photovoltaic panels. The company currently has more than $1.8 billion of projects in operation worldwide, with offices in the United States, Chile, China, Australia, the Middle East and South Africa.

CHALLENGES:

• Sharing a variety of marketing content and literature — including brochures, video clips and infographics — with different target audiences

• Reaching (and engaging) the right markets and readers with the most relevant content

• Increasing employee engagement through internal communication materials

• Giving their digital content a more dynamic, professional and “high-tech” look and feel beyond PDFs

WHY ISSUU?

According to Mary Grikas, VP of Communications at SolarReserve, she has been using Issuu since it first started. “The design world knows about Issuu,” says Grikas. When her team at SolarReserve wanted a platform to upload and share their marketing brochures and internal newsletters, they chose Issuu because of the engaging reader experience. “It captures your attention more than a flat PDF file — it’s multidimensional, which makes it interesting for people to look at. It also positions us as a company that’s up to date with the latest technology — in this case, that’s Issuu.” When she looked into it, Issuu’s price point and functionality were a perfect fit for SolarReserve’s content needs. They ultimately selected the platform because it was extremely easy to use and embed on their website, where the majority of their stakeholders access their brochures and marketing content. In addition to external content, SolarReserve also uses Issuu to distribute internal newsletters to engage employees within the organization. Grikas says her team likes using Issuu’s in-depth statistics to measure the performance of these newsletters, and that Issuu has become a standard for her team’s corporate communications.
