FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Sharing Our Bull Pride At the heart of any organization is the passion, participation and contribution of its members. And the USF Alumni Association is no different. At its core are people: alumni, volunteers and staff who serve Bulls Country. In this annual report, you will see how we have continued to make progress in spite of tough economic times. For example: •

Life Members have grown by 38% in the past year

License plates on the road have increased 28% over the past three years

Student Alumni Association, launched only last year, has increased membership by 40%

Membership dues and royalties from the USF Bulls license plate have allowed us to expand programs, such as student scholarships, alumni networking events, legislative advocacy and communications to our 244,000 alumni in Bulls Country worldwide. Thank you for your continued support of the Alumni Association. Your generosity has made a difference in the lives of fellow Bulls! In the words of Philosopher George W. F. Hegel, “Nothing great in the world has been accomplished without passion.” Your passion for USF strengthens your alumni association and your university’s global reputation. Go Bulls!

Our Motto Connect Alumni, Support Students, Strengthen USF

Our Mission The mission of the USF Alumni Association is to foster a mutually beneficial, lifelong relationship between the University and its alumni; to inspire loyalty and pride among current and future alumni; and to advocate for excellence in teaching, research and public service.

Financials How We Used the Revenue

Report of Independent Certified Public Accountants

University of South Florida Alumni Association, Inc. Statements of Financial Position

The Board of Directors University of South Florida Alumni Association, Inc. We have audited the accompanying statements of financial position of the University of South Florida Alumni Association, Inc. (the Association) as of June 30, 2010 and 2009, and the related statements of activities and changes in net assets, cash flows and functional expenses for the years then ended. These financial statements are the responsibility of the Association’s management. Our responsibility is to express an opinion on these financial statements based on our audits. We conducted our audits in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in the United States and the standards applicable to financial audits contained in Government Auditing Standards, issued by the Comptroller General of the United States. Those standards require that we plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements are free of material misstatement. We were not engaged to perform an audit of the Association’s internal control over financial reporting. Our audit included consideration of internal control over financial reporting as a basis for designing audit procedures that are appropriate in the circumstances, but not for the purpose of expressing an opinion on the effectiveness of the Association’s internal control over financial reporting. Accordingly, we express no such opinion. An audit also includes examining, on a test basis, evidence supporting the amounts and disclosures in the financial statements, assessing the accounting principles used and significant estimates made by management and evaluating the overall financial statement presentation. We believe that our audits provide a reasonable basis for our opinion.

See accompanying notes.

In our opinion, the financial statements referred to above present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the Association as of June 30, 2010 and 2009, and the changes in its net assets and its cash flows for the years then ended in conformity with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles. In accordance with Government Auditing Standards, we have also issued our report dated October 28, 2010, on our consideration of the Association’s internal control over financial reporting and on our tests of its compliance with certain provisions of laws, regulations, contracts, and grant agreements and other matters. The purpose of that report is to describe the scope of our testing of internal control over financial reporting and compliance and the results of that testing, and not to provide an opinion on the internal control over financial reporting or on compliance. That report is an integral part of an audit performed in accordance with Government Auditing Standards and should be considered in assessing the results of our audits. October 28, 2010
