HISTORY
Since 2013 Black Rock Football Club has established itself as a preeminent club in America having produced many top college players and young professionals. The club has gained national acclaim for its exciting brand of attacking football and its focus on player development both on and off the field. In 2017 a strategic alliance was formed between three area clubs to better serve players within Berkshire County and the surrounding regions. The current club structure provides development opportunities for prep school players and players within a traditional youth club model (U5-U19).
LEADERSHIP
Black Rock FC was founded by Jon Moodey. An 18 year veteran of prep school soccer Moodey brought Berkshire School’s soccer team to national prominence compiling a 94-7-3 record (0.92 win percentage), including an all-time league unbeaten streak of 54-0-2. Under Moodey's guidance Berkshire won three New England Class A Championships in a row (2012-2014), a first in league history. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Black Rock FC and is the program director for the The Black Rock FC Residential Academy at Northwood School (Lake Placid, NY).

JACK HARRISON, MANCHESTER CITY
At the age of 14 Jack Harrison left Manchester United's academy to pursue his academic and athletic goals at Berkshire School in America under the direction of Jon Moodey. After a tremendous four years with Berkshire, and Black Rock FC, Harrison was awarded a full scholarship to play at Wake Forest University. In a breakout season Jack became the first player in ACC history to earn Offensive Player of the Year Award as a freshman. That winter Jack was selected as the #1 overall pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft and quickly became a rising star with New York City FC. In the winter of 2017 Jack received his first international cap with the England U21's. Â On Jan 30th, 2018, Jack was sold to Manchester City for 6.5 million dollars.

Peter Kenyon served as the Chief Executive Officer for Manchester United Football Club from 19972003. He is credited with securing major corporate sponsorship deals with Vodafone and Nike, a merchandising arrangement with the New York Yankees, as well as the club's exposure in the asian market. Between 2003-2009 he served as the CEO for Chelsea Football Club.

Sam Kennedy serves as the president and CEO of the Boston Red Sox. Previously, Kennedy served as the president of Fenway Sports Management (FSG). He was heavily involved in FSG's purchase of the English Premier League club Liverpool FC and was in charge of expanding Liverpool's global commercial operations.
TOMMY KAIN Tommy Kain most recently served as the Director of Sports Marketing at Nike. He played collegiate soccer at Duke University where he was named the 1985 Hermann Trophy winner as the top collegiate player. He earned five caps with the U.S. national team between 1986 -1987 and was the first American born soccer player to play professionally in Germany.

2018 NORTHEAST DIVISION CHAMPIONS
ABOUT USL LEAGUE 2 USL League 2 (USL2) is the leader in pre-professional soccer in the U.S. and Canada. USL2 franchises provide the elite amateur player the opportunity to train and compete at the highest level while maintaining their collegiate eligibility. The league has proven to be an important stepping-stone for top professionals now playing throughout the world, with 70% of all MLS draftees having USL2 experience. Unofficially, it is considered to be the fourth tier of competition, behind Major League Soccer, USL Championship, and USL League 1. The USL2 season consists of 14 regular season matches for each team, seven home and seven away. 72 teams compete in four conferences, split into ten regional divisions. In addition to league play, PDL teams compete in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup as well as various exhibitions. Dubbed the PATH2PRO the ULS2 is the foundation of player development to the professional ranks. Each team utilizes the ULS2 for player development differently on a club-by-club basis. For instance, a Major League Soccer club will operate or affiliate with a USL organization in order to provide their players the opportunity to obtain the precious training time needed in order to qualify for homegrown status. Similarly, USL clubs will utilize the USL2 for player identification.
2019 U.S. OPEN CUP QUALIFIERS
In our inaugural 2018 season Black Rock FC won the Northeast Division with a 9-3-2 record and were one of eight teams to advance to the national championship. They automatically qualified for the 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup - a tournament open to all professional and amateur teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. Many of our players received national recognition throughout the season and a handful have been added to the Top 50 Prospect List.

The Black Rock FC Residential Academy at Northwood School is the first residential soccer academy in the northeast region of the United States. Student-athletes selected for this program attend Northwood School and participate in daily soccer-related activities throughout the academic year (August-June). During the fall season, student-athletes play against high level high school teams. In the winter and spring they play top domestic and international club teams at elite showcase tournaments across the country. ABOUT NORTHWOOD SCHOOL: Northwood School is a co-ed residential independent boarding school (grades 9 - 12) situated in the beautiful mountain village of Lake Placid, New York. Know for its sporting history, Lake Placid played host to the 1980 and 1932 Winter Olympic Games. Since 1905, Northwood School’s mission has been rooted in two imperative duties: to foster growth in young people and to prepare them to engage their world. A Northwood School education provides students with firsthand experiences that allow them to find and explore their passions, to hone their skills and build a knowledge base that will prepare them to face the challenges of the modern world. The Black Rock FC Prep Academy provides off season development and showcasing opportunities for players who attend residential collegiate preparatory schools "prep schools" in the New England region of the United States. Our prep school network includes over 25 of the top academic prep schools in the country. The best players within the Prep Academy are selected to represent the club at elite tournaments and college showcases.

The best players in the Prep Academy will be identified and invited to play with the elite teams which will participate in three national showcase events and friendlies against US Development Academy teams.

All members of the Prep Academy will participate in a regionalized training program and play in the BRFC Academy League through the winter and spring. This will also include two exclusive BRFC College Showcases and one College Recruiting Forum for parents and players.

LEADERSHIP & CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
The leadership program include workshops utilizing discovery based learning through personal reflection, self assessment, group work, and presentations. In addition our five part speaker series will feature high profile individuals who each have personal connections to the club.
PREP TEAM CAMP
The BRFC Prep Team Camp is an exclusive offering for all of our partner prep schools. It is an opportunity for entire teams to spend a week training on state of the art facilities, engage in unique team building activities, and participate in leadership training.
GLOBAL LEARNING INITIATIVES
BRFC Academy players will be offered opportunities to travel the world and experience football from a variety of perspectives. Participants will play friendly soccer matches against local clubs, partake in cultural exchange activities, and engage in community service projects.
COLLEGE COUNSELING SERVICES
The BRFC College Counseling Services will be available to provide general guidance and support for BRFC players and parents no matter where they are in their recruitment process. This includes understanding appropriate recruitment timelines, effective communication with college coaches, and NCAA eligibility rule and regulations.

BRFC Youth Academy is a true premier program serving Berkshire County and the surrounding area. Our club structure offers a clear pathway in which players can develop and play at an elite level. We pride ourselves on our professionalism and the care we show to our families, and the respect afforded to each player who enters our organization. We want each player to enjoy their time with the club, be challenged in a positive coaching environment, and improve themselves as players and people as they progress through the player development pathway. COACHING PHILISOPHY: Each developmental block of our youth academy follows a comprehensive curriculum, designed by our Technical Director, that provides players with age-specific provision and systematically lays the foundation for progressive development and the enhancement of love for the game. Our coaching staff are coaches of positive significance in our player’s lives. We aim to inspire players in an atmosphere of respect and honesty while encouraging them to think for themselves. Success is achieved through building good habits and helping players become accountable for their development. ACADEMY INCLUSIONS PLUS: Our player development pyramid provides a clear pathway from our youngest players through to our semi-pro PDL team. BRFC players will systematically progress through the pyramid and have opportunities to play at the collegiate and professional levels beyond their BRFC experience.

PREMIER PLUS ACADEMY (U15 - U19) Premier Plus players will receive training and education designed to create collegiate level players. BRFC will provide a specialized education program that helps players navigate the college process in addition to developing a competitive calendar with multiple showcase opportunities. PREMIER ACADEMY (U11 - U14) The Premier Academy is the introduction to club  teams that play in regional leagues and tournaments. Teams will be created from players selected to play and train in an elite environment where the focus will be on development of skill acquisition, tactical awareness and learning to compete. JUNIOR PREMIER ACADEMY (U9 - U10) The Junior Premier Academy offers talented young individuals a chance to train and play with like minded players in a competitive environment. The focus will be on advanced technical training and an introduction to tactical elements, to help create a better understanding of the game. FUTURE STARS (U5 - U8) The Future Stars Program is a fun, exciting introduction to soccer designed to teach the fundamentals of soccer using an energetic curriculum that is age specific. All sessions are held in a fun and positive environment, where players are encouraged to play with a smile on their face.

The Black Rock Football-Scholars Program (BR FSP) seeks to identify top studentathletes from diverse backgrounds around the globe and to facilitate placement at top boarding schools throughout the United States. BR FSP is an inclusive, merit-based program designed to identify the most deserving candidates irrespective of their financial backgrounds. Since its inception, Black Rock FSP has made it a point of emphasis to reach those in underserved communities and that will remain a priority. OUR COMMITMENT: All Black Rock Football-Scholars receive unparalleled guidance throughout the boarding school application process—from when you first put on your BRFC jersey to the day you step foot in America. Upon arrival to the United States, Black Rock Football-Scholars will receive additional, holistic support to help feel comfortable living and studying in the United States. As members of the BRFC Academy, Football-Scholars have full access to all of the club's signature programs. Modeled after our Football-Scholars Program, the Black Rock Rising-Scholars Program (BR RSP) seeks to identify motivated student-athletes from diverse backgrounds within our local communities. At its core the program reinforces the importance of physical exercise through soccer, lessons on diet and nutrition, and academic mentoring. Coaches and players from Black Rock FC and volunteers from area college teams lead weekly sessions for student-athletes selected for this program. IDENTIFICATION PROCESS: Rising-Scholars' staff evaluate all student-athletes invited to participate in the BR RSP screening process on the following criteria: interviews, recommendations, and academic assessment. After several rounds of evaluations, finalists will be selected and Black Rock RisingScholars will be announced. GUIDELINES FOR PARTICIPATION: Consistent participation is critical to the continued development of our Rising- Scholars so regular attendance is required in order to remain in the program. Additionally, commitment to academic achievement is central to the goals of this program so academic progress reports and report cards are reviewed by our staff regularly. This program was piloted in 2017 in partnership with Boys & Girls Club of Berkshire County with great success. By having access to their facility we were able to serve families in Pittsfield, MA and the surrounding area. Through a broader partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of America, and leveraging relationships with college soccer programs, our ambition is to create similar programs to serve at risk youth in communities across the nation.

During our domestic and international travel we try to provide local soccer communities with resources to help in the development of aspiring young players when possible. In the past this has included fundraising, payment of school fees, donations of new and used equipment, as well as running field clinics, classroom sessions, and coaches education seminars. In an effort to support all of our programs we are in the process of establishing a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) to receive tax deductible donations. All proceeds will be prioritized to support players in the club who have demonstrated financial need including Football Scholars and Rising Scholars. Contributions to support programming for our international partners will also be considered when possible. RECENT TRIPS:
