Time to be optimistic The global economy is expected to shrink by 3.0% during 2020 in a stunning coronavirus-driven collapse of activity that will mark the steepest downturn since the Great Depression of the 1930s, the International Monetary Fund has recently said. On the same day, the World Trade Organization forecast a plunge of global trade in goods this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic before a likely rebound in 2021. The WTO gave a wide range for the decline this year, of between 13% and 32%, saying there remained uncertainty about the economic impact of the unprecedented health crisis. The Geneva-based body said that for 2021 it was forecasting a rebound of between 21% and 24%, with the outcome depending largely on the duration of the outbreak and the effectiveness of policy responses. The above are the forecasts of internationally respected and acknowledged institutions but the business world are more optimistic. Some business people say they have been sharpened more. A lady CEO describes the economic situation as a pressed spring. “It has been a spring under tension. It will jump up when it is released.” I believe the same. I hope those days come as early as possible. Almost all fairs scheduled for the period between end-March and August have been rescheduled. They are accumulating energy. September will recognize no limits. Following months until the year-end will be busiest than ever. Let’s all keep our optimism and start promoting our products, services and brands to be ready for the time when the horizons will be clearer and the doors will be opened. One of the world’s two largest exhibitions in the home textile industry, the 26th edition of EVTEKS – Istanbul International Home Textiles Exhibition will open its doors for visitors. Upon the recommendation of the Scientific Board of the Ministry of Health and the decision of the Ministry of Trade, all the national and international exhibitions, planned to be organized between the period March 16 – April 30, have been postponed to take place after May 1, 2020. Accordingly, the date of EVTEKS – Istanbul International Home Textiles Exhibition, planned to be organized in April, has been updated to August. The 26th edition of the exhibition, which is getting prepared to open its doors to visitors at CNR Expo Istanbul Expo Center between August 2529, is featured as one of the world’s two largest exhibitions in the home textile industry. In order to remove wallpaper patterns, the masters process the patterns one by one on the rollers. As a result of this difficult production, we were happy with the fact that we were able to bring out beautiful designs and tap into people’s dreams. We wanted to move from our position as an importer to a manufacturer in this industry and we started this story by establishing the AdaWall brand.

Could you mention about the product range of AdaWall? We like to produce wallpaper with modern traces coming out of classic wallpaper designs and surprise people. We have 14 collections of different concepts. Anka, Indigo, Tropicano, Amazon are some of our collections. I want to tell you about the story of our collection, which we call Amazon. In our Amazon digital print collection, we aimed to make people feel like they’re in the tropical forests and take them away from the city life they live in, and we think we’ve achieved that. It has been a very nice collection, we’re very happy for our customers to have a positive feedback. Like our Amazon catalog, every newly designed collection has its own story. We aim to add some energy to our designs by projecting these stories into the wallpaper we have designed, and we carefully process these stories into our papers throughout the design and production stages. In our production we combine our quality raw materials
with our designs by using the latest production technologies. We aim to change the atmosphere of the environments where people live at affordable prices without compromising on quality and for people to live in happy environments.

Due to the worldwide emergency caused by the Coronavirus (Covid-19), the entire European fair calendar is subject to changes and postponements. The Management of Proposte has considered all possible solutions in order to implement the best strategy in the face of the emergency and has come to the conclusion that shifting the 2020 dates to September is the best choice. President Piercarlo Viganò explained the decision as follows: “We started with the common intention of confirming the April date to give a sign of positivity and continuity to the worldwide market. The situation has evolved on a day-by-day basis, both internally and internationally. The strong reduction in air traffic and the cancellations of flights to Italy ordered by some governments and airlines has led us to a forced choice. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the event to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to visit our exhibition in full tranquility and continue their business as usual.
