Ms. Anna and Grade 3
Maths We are currently learning about number patterns by establishing a rule and applying it. Here Grade 3 have created colour patterns using a variety of blocks.
Literacy For reading we are currently doing a novel study on the book ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ by Roald Dahl. In writing we are learning about different types of poems and some of the technical devices writers use, such as similes. Grade 3 wrote a poem about happiness using similes. HAPPINESS Happiness is as cheerful as a sunny day, as great as surprise presents, as fantastic as birthdays, as marvelous as the movie ‘Frozen’, as magical as music, as exciting as going to a different country, and brilliant like a sunset.

Unit of Inquiry Our current unit of inquiry is titled, What We Wear. We are investigating culture and clothing, and clothing as form of self -expression. On 24th February, we went on an excursion to look at some of the clothing and fabrics in Hanoi.
