Lucca: la città delle 100 chiese all'interno delle mura. Lucca è un vero scrigno di tesori d’arte. Vanta una cinta muraria rinascimentale intatta, oggi una passeggiata incantevole e panoramica. Ma soprattutto Lucca è “la città delle cento chiese” perché all’interno delle mura gli edifici religiosi sono moltissimi. Visitare Lucca significa farsi affascinare da questo patrimonio, ammirarne la bellezza, passare da una meraviglia all’altra sapendo che ci saranno sempre tesori che ci sfuggono e saranno il motivo per tornare.
A scuola di cocktail con il nostro barman. Il nostro barman Francesco Iglio guida gli ospiti alla preparazione del suo Pink Cinnamon con il quale nel 2008 a Singapore ha conquistato il secondo podio alla 18ma Asia Cocktail Competion. Gli ingredienti sono vodka Apeach, sciroppo di cannella home made e sciroppo di anguria, vodka alla fragola, succo fresco di ananas, succo di cranberry e ginger beer. L’agretto di chef Guido Lotti. Guido Lotti è il nuovo chef di Grotta Giusti, giovane, ricco di esperienza e creatività. Per seguire la sua passione ha girato il mondo. Si è perfezionato all’accademia L’Étoile di Rossano Boscolo. Ha lavorato con chef come Sergio Mei, Guy Lassausaie, Rueda Blanco Cristòbal e Sergio Lorenzi. La sua è una cucina fresca e creativa, fatta di ingredienti sceltissimi, nella migliore tradizione della nostra terra. Oggi ci propone una ricetta che è proprio così: l’Insalatina di barba di frate, l’agretto. Nella sua proposta l’insalatina è profumata all’olio di agrumi, con fiori di zucchine ripieni al pecorino maggiolino e con le fave fresche. È un trionfo di sapori mediterranei e di campagna, con i gusti delicati dei fiori di zucchine e dell’agretto che si sposano e si esaltano nel sapore ricco delle fave e del pecorino. Un piatto da gustare presso il Ristorante La Veranda.
Trattamento del mese: scrub salino con candle massage. 80 minuti dedicati prima al trattamento con sale marino che leviga con delicatezza la pelle, poi a un dolce massaggio con una candela al burro di Karité che completa il rituale del benessere. Cocktail lessons with barman Francesco Iglio. Our barman Francesco Iglio shows guests exactly how to prepare a "Pink Cinnamon", the cocktail which won him second place at the 18th Asia Cocktail competition in Singapore in 2008. He blends Apeach vodka, homemade cinnamon syrup and watermelon syrup, strawberry vodka, fresh pineapple juice, cranberry juice and ginger beer. But knowing which ingredients and quantities to use is only the first step: to turn them into a drink that’s delicious on the eye as well as the palette, it takes all of Francesco’s skill and the secrets he reveals during the lesson.
Agretto salad by chef Guido Lotti. Guido Lotti is our new chef. Young, creative and highly experienced, he has travelled the world and worked alongside Guy Lassausaie and Rueda Blanco Cristòbal. His approach to food is fresh and creative, using superb ingredients in the very finest Tuscan tradition. Today he’s preparing a salad of “monk’s beard”, known in Italian as agretto. The fresh salad leaves are perfumed with citrus oil, courgette flowers filled with pecorino and fresh broad beans. You can savour it at La Veranda restaurant.
Lucca: the city of 100 churches. Lucca is a treasure-trove of artistic masterpieces. Built in the Renaissance, the city walls still stand today, offering wonderful panoramic views for walkers. But it’s best known as “the city of 100 churches” for the many religious buildings which lie inside the walls.
