Organic Ligurian Extra Virgin Olive Oil By Ghiglione 1920

Founded in 1920 in the Medieval village of Dolcedo, this is the creme-de-lacreme of Ligurian oils. Not only typical of the region, but at the top end as being both a PDO (Protected Domination of Origin) which like Champagne can only be produced in a given region, but also certified Organic. Anna who produces it is so passionate about doing things properly. When we were tasting this oil in Italy, she was smiling, knowing we would be as passionate about it as we are.

Production area - DOLCEDO - LIGURIA, ITALY Method of harvest - by Hand

Production method - Continuous cold cycle less than 27c

Flavour - A pleasant fruity flavour with overtones of grassiness and pepper. This is a drizzling oil for your best guests, your best dinner parties and when you want to spoil yourself with a cold fresh buffalo mozzarella or you've picked a Franchi Cuor di Bue Ligurian tomato from your garden......

FMOLG2 Ghiglione Organic DOP ‘Ligurian Riviera’ Boxed 25cl For drizzling £13 Ligurian oils are considered to be some of the best in Italy and this is just typical of the classic Ligurian style - fruity, grassy with a slight bitterness. Produced organically in Dolcedo by hand for almost a century.

This type of oil is of high quality for using raw on mozzarellas, tomatoes and basil, in minestrone and soups etc but also for shallow frying meats, fish, vegetables in pastella etc as it is a good all rounder of good quality.

FMOLG7 Ghilione Unfiltered Extra Vergine Olive Oil 1lt £15. A blend of Italian oils. Produced by hand for almost a century. This type of oil is of high quality for using raw on mozzarelle, tomatoes and basil, in minestrone and soups etc but also for shallow frying meats, fish, vegetables in pastella and perfect for making pesto as it is a good all rounder of good quality under of good quality. We were particularly keen to get Ghiglione.
