Alassio 2019 Programme Day 1 – Arrival and check-in. Dinner and overnight stay. Day 2 – Full-day excursion of Monaco, Monte-Carlo and a French perfumery. The principality of Monaco is one of the most sensational destinations on the Côte d'Azur. It dazzles like a precious jewel on the coast: Modern skyscrapers and historical buildings rise up, creating a spectacular dance of colours against the sky and the water. This, combined with the allure of unique boutiques, luxury cars and exclusive clubs, makes Monaco an unmissable stop on the Côte d'Azur! There are countless mustsee attractions in the principality: the Palace standing sentinel upon the rocks, the changing of the guard, the exotic garden with its breath-taking view over the city, the Casino square famed for its prestigious casino, the Hotel De Paris and the Café de Paris, not to mention the Oceanographic Museum. The streets of Monaco also serve as the Formula 1 Grand Prix track circuit every year in May. From Monaco, the tour continues along winding roads offering panoramic views all the way to Eze Village, where you are taken on a sensuous journey through one of the Côte d'Azur's most famous perfumeries. What's more… all guests will receive a small gift! Return to the hotel for dinner. Day 3 – Full-day excursion to Alassio and Albenga, discovering Ligurian specialities. The visit to Albenga's 16th-century old town is followed by a trip to a beautiful greenhouse & nursery, where you can explore the fascinating world of aromatic herbs and unusual citrus fruits and have the chance to taste a selection of unique jams and preserves. Our excursion then takes us to an olive mill to sample the delicate olive oil of the Liguria region, together with some delicious spreads. We then return to Alassio to further explore the town where we are staying. The Budello, the “Muretto”-wall and the Torrione dei Saraceni tower neatly frame the beating heart of one of the best known coastal towns. A guided tour is followed by a cappuccino break in the old-established Café Balzola, complete with one “Bacio di Alassio ("kiss of Alassio" – sweet biscuits with a soft chocolate centre, simply baked for a soft, crumbly texture and a fresh and delicate flavour). Return to the hotel and dinner.
Alassio 2019 Day 4 – Full-day excursion to Sanremo and Dolceacqua, discovering Ligurian wines. After breakfast we depart for Sanremo, rich of art nouveau architecture (historical hotels, beautiful villas and the Casinò) also famous for its Russian Church. After the visit, passing by the Rossese wineyards, we continue into the Ligurian countryside to Dolceacqua, a picturesque little village dating back to the 12th century. Explore the narrow winding lanes and their traditional stone houses. We then reach a local cellar for a generous and tasty snack together with Riviera di Ponente & Dolceacqua wines. Return to the hotel for dinner. Day 5 – Free time to make your own discoveries. Spend your free time as you wish: a stroll in Alassio for shopping or a visit to some attractions in Alassio surroundings. Dinner and overnight stay. Day 6 – Breakfast and journey home.
