WEEK 9 READING: PERSPECTIVE AS SYMBOLIC FORM
Question 1: What are Durer’s rules for perspectival projection? In Durer’s opinion, the perspectival projection is controlled by an immediate sensory impression or a “ correct” geometrical construction. Moreover, he mentioned the composition of a perspectival projection such as the vanishing point. For instance, all perpendicular lines will meet at the central vanishing points, or all parallel lines will have the same vanishing point. According to the rules above, the perspectival projection can be described as a “window,” plan and elevation are consisted of the entire system and intersects and disappears at the same vanishing point with some visual rays.
Question 2: Describe homogenous space? (Maximum 100 words)
Homogenous space can be described as a purely mathematical space, which means homogenous space is never given space, grounding in the general logical function. Unlike psychophysiological space, homogenous space is preciously imaged by mathematical and geometrical techniques. Moreover, as the content mentioned above, it can be viewed as a functional reality instead of a substantial space or the visual experience of a space.

The primary task in the module is how to use the model and notations to describe the specific features of the continuous city, Penthesilea. The duplicate rule is matched with Penthesilea’s feature; therefore, blending the building into the story scene is the most necesssary part of the module.

In the module, the notation relating to time, movement, emotion, and light will be illustrated. The elements mentioned above consist of the city’s abstract structure.

QUAD PERSPECTIVE 1 + 2 Perspective 1 In the perspective, the surrounding of the background can be illustrated and observed clearly. Moreover, the visual extension can enhance the sense of “continuity, and displays the atmosphere of diluting.
Perspective 2 ln the perspective, the distance between people can be emphasized due to the straight visual line. Moreover, the view can display the sequence of the market of the story scene
6
PERSPECTIVE SCENE 1 + 2 In this perspective, there are several human-made stacks of stones, made by the people who tried to make a sign to find out their “correct” direction even got lost in the city in the end. At the same time, the most ironic part in Penthesilea is when someone asks other people to find out the path to the central city; they would make a broad gesture and give an unclear direction. No one can indicate the entrance and exit of the city because no one left the city when someone got in. The city is a mental maze; if someone wants to escape from Penthesilea the only thing could do is pursuing ownself that the person is on the accurate path even there is no one would agree with the decision.
Perspective 1: Excuse me. Do you have the Penthesilea’s map?
Here, another corner of the city, there is a market, a paradise in the city. Like an ideal city, there is no class conflict in Penthesilea because no one can leave the city and they do not have methods to earn more money than other people. A carnival with a Ferris wheel, shamble, and several shops can be seen in the picture. There is no any mark of the direction in the area because people can find the area by “memory of their body.” Everyone in the area always looks satisfaction due to the area is the paradise of the city where they can get anything they need in the street.

WEEK 10 READING: PRACTICE ARCHITECTURE, TECNIQUE AND REPRESENTATION Complete your reading before attempting these questions: - MAPPING THE UNMAPPABLE ON NOTATION Question 1: IWhat is the difference between autographic and allographic practice?
The main difference between autographic and allographic practice is the capability of being reproduced. On the one hand, the autographic practice cannot be reproduced or interpreted based on the content of the autographic practice composed of direct intervention or manipulation by the author such as sculptures and paintings. On the other hand, the allographic practice allows the craft to be recorded because of the artworks produced independently by the interpretation of notational information such as music, performance.
Question 2: Why do architects need new representational techniques? The primary reason is architecture is neither autographic or allographic. Nowadays, architecture is focused on the structural form and consistent line relating to human’s social, cultural, and identical demands. According to those considerations, architects need new representational techniques to enhance their design in detail to reflect the dynamics of time and change.

FINAL DRAWINGS CONTINUOUS CITIES 5: PENTHESILEA I-Tan Chen , 963301
In the venue, the primary element is the natural environment as the story mentioned that “Penthesilea is a soupy city diluted in the plain.” It means the landscape is the most powerful element in the scenes. According to the condition, the columns in the venue are covered by various climbers to reduce the visual impact of the construction. The most buildings in the Penthesilea are shabby and run-down, simultaneously, the artificial objects in Penthrsilea are eroded by vegetations. Furthermore, people would lose their sense of direction due to the similar surrounding. Key Light- Dark Passage of Time People/Crowds Movement Viewing - Stare Viewing - Glance Mood - Anticipated 0

Perspectine01 - Excuse me. Do you have the Penthesilea’s map ?
When someone first time came to the city, the truth would break their imagination. There is no central luxury city and crowded commercial area. The element can only be witnessed in the city are many natural elements, such as wetland, fields and shabby market. Moreover, they might feel upset that when they have got into the city, they would never leave Penthesilae. The truth of Penthesileais is that the city is a prison of the dreamer who wants to travel around the world; however, here is a paradise for those they to escape the real society.
