A relaxed, laid-back and intimate feel makes a SeaDream cruise a special choice for travellers. With just 56 staterooms the vessels are small enough to venture into bays and coves that are impossible for larger vessels, which means they sail a little off the beaten track. EUROPE ECCE NAVIGO Ecce Navigo is a traditionally styled 34-metre sailing ketch that sets sail from Gocek, the small coastal town in the Mu la Province of Turkey that’s famed for its yachting and sailing. On your voyage of discovery you’ll choose from two different itineraries - Journey North from Gocek and return, experiencing the picturesque harbour towns of Gocek, Marmaris and Fethiye or Journey South from Gocek and return, taking you to the ancient cities of Letoon, Patara and Xantos, then onto Kekova. Indulge in barefoot luxury, enjoying world-class facilities, service and cuisine. The onboard crew of six are on hand for your every need and the yacht is also a great option for families, as children are cared for by the qualified and fun child minder. It’s also a fabulous option for anyone active and there really is plenty to keep everyone occupied; snorkelling, canoeing, or simply enjoying the peace and tranquility of deserted bays. This 10 berth schooner is a new and exciting way to holiday; imagine yourself diving from the deck into the crystal blue waters, kayaking around the peaceful bays, doing yoga under the clear blue sky with a gentle sea breeze keeping you cool. THE CARIBBEAN The Caribbean is one of the most popular all-year-round sailing destinations. Winter is considered high season (December through to April), but the temperatures do not change dramatically in the summer and the snorkelling and diving is even better between May through to August. The enchanting arc of islands we recommend for charter stretch from the Virgin Islands in the north to the Grenadines and Grenada in the south. The reliable trade winds make sailing here a pleasure. There are three main sailing areas in the Caribbean: THE BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS Charters usually start and finish in Village Cay Marina, Tortola, just a 20 minute taxi drive from the local airport at Beef Island. Alternatively, and if the yacht’s schedule allows, guests spending their first few days in a hotel such as Peter Island Resort & Spa, Rosewood Little Dix Bay or Biras Creek can be collected from the jetties there. There are over 60 unspoilt islands and cays to explore, mostly uninhabited, and all with local charm. They are lush and mountainous with excellent beaches, good walking and superb snorkelling and scuba diving. The sailing time between islands is rarely more than an hour or two, making it the ideal cruising ground for the ‘first time charterer’ and although it is possible to visit most of these islands in a week, we recommend ten days to make the most of it. THE LEEWARD ISLANDS Many clients fly first into the international airports of Barbados, St Lucia or Grenada, perhaps staying for a week in a hotel or villa prior to joining their yacht. There are feeder flights into St Vincent, Bequia, Mustique and Union Island and these are great starting points for a Grenadines cruise. Indeed, some of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean are the idyllic Grenadines. We recommend a one way charter starting in St Vincent or Bequia and finishing in Union Island or Grenada if time allows. This will provide a leisurely cruise down through the islands visiting Mustique, Canouan, Petit St Vincent, Palm Island and the very beautiful Tobago Cays. The sails between islands are short and there are many exquisite and quiet anchorages. The topographies and cultures differ from island to island with the colourful local markets well worth a visit. This part of the Caribbean has retained its local charm and is perfect to visit year-round. THE WINDWARD ISLANDS St Kitts, Nevis, Barbuda, Dominica and St Barths all have convenient meeting points for the yachts, depending on the scheduling. Once on the water, the Leeward Islands open up to span some 200 miles and stretch from Anguilla to Dominica and also include St Martin, Saba, St Barths, St Kitts, Nevis, Barbuda, Antigua and Guadeloupe. The islands are all very different, from sophisticated restaurants and casinos in St Martin to exclusive shopping and dining in St Barths and splendid, deserted beaches on Barbuda and Antigua. You will find more sailing between these islands and in some areas you could be sailing for 3-6 hours each day in open waters and during December through March, the sailing might be considered a little rough for inexperienced sailors or wonderfully enjoyable for the experienced - it’s a matter of perspective! It would take some considerable time to cruise all the Leeward Islands so it’s best to select a few islands if you only have a week to charter. A one way charter from Antigua to St Martin is a popular choice with stops in Barbuda, Nevis, St Barths and Anguilla.
