Island, which has been nicknamed the “Nature Isle of the Caribbean” for its unspoiled natural beauty. The island features lush mountainous rainforests, home of many rare plants, animals and birds. These forests coat two thirds of the island and nourish 1,200 plant species. Rivers, lakes, streams and waterfalls abound, fed by the island’s high annual rainfall. Famous is the Morne Trois Pitons National Park with the Boiling Lake, Middleham & Trafalgar Falls and the Emerald Pool. The best beaches are: Pointe Baptiste and Purple Beach (with coral reef) in the northwest; Woodford Hill Beach and Marigot Bay (with its famous long black sand beach) in the northeast; Scotts Head Beach (with beautiful underwater walls) and Soufriere Bay Beach (with rock-studded black sand shore) in the south. In addition, we suggest a visit to Martinique, which offers bays and anchorages in untouched areas. The south end of the island is blessed with white sandy beaches backed by palms. Excellent French Creole cuisine restaurants are located throughout the island. Seafood includes fresh local crab, lobster and conch, large shellfish served on the barbecue or cooked in a delicious spicy sauce. Do not miss the best attraction located in the centre of the island, the Habitation Clément, which is recognized as an Historical Monument by the Ministry of culture. Antigua is the perfect place where to land when arriving on a flight from Europe. As the first part of your Caribbean cruise, Antigua will offer you breathtaking beaches, such as Half Moon Bay, which is a National Park, and Nonsuch Bay, which is the best place to anchor inside the reef as the water is very deep. We suggest a trip to Barbuda, which is one of the truly undiscovered treasures of the Eastern Caribbean. There are 17 miles of stunning pink and sandy beaches. The anchorages on the south and west coasts are mainly calm, being protected by a barrier reef. It is also famous for lobsters, as the lagoon is an important breeding ground for this crustacean. Other hidden secrets include ancient Amerindian ruins and sites to be visited, one of the rarest small birds in the world – the Barbuda Warbler - has caves and diving sites. Sailing towards the South, you will reach Guadeloupe and Bas du Fort Marina, an excellent stop as it is very close to the Airport and, in addition, can offer a variety of waterfront restaurants and bars. Guadeloupe is the largest island of the Lesser Antilles, and boasts a lively mix of Créole culture with modern cities, rural environments, rainforests and secluded beaches. The Island tour is highly recommended to discover the beautiful white beaches of Grande Terre, the perfect place for wind- and kite-surfing. Sailing further south, you will reach Dominica

Floating Life Charter & Brokerage

and well forested island dominated by the volcano Mount Soufrière. Due to the island’s volcanic origin, most of St Vincent’s beaches are black sand with the two notable exceptions of Villa and Indian Bay. We strongly suggest sailing towards Mustique Island, a picturesque 1,400 acre island surrounded by 9 beaches of pure white sand with gentle swaying coconut palms and warm turquoise waters. It is a private island, owned by shareholders of The Mustique Company. It is a really peaceful island with little traffic, even during the peak season. Many roads are not paved. Macaroni Beach is perhaps the most famous beach and is located on the East coast of the island. Other popular beaches on the Atlantic or Caribbean sides are Endeavour, Lagoon, L’Ansecoy and Simplicity. Mustique offers many activities, such as basketball, bird watching, children’s playground, excursions, equestrian centre, fishing, fitness centre, golf, hiking, soccer, cricket pitch, spa, tennis club, volleyball court and watersports. Our concierge office has local contacts and is, therefore, able to book any requested activities. St. Lucia is a small, lush tropical gem, which is still relatively unknown. This jewel of the Windward Islands is a place of natural beauty with warm hospitality. It is a volcanic island, where the twin peaks of the Pitons rise over 2000ft at the water’s edge. Further inland, the rainforests shelter wild orchids, giant ferns, and birds of paradise. Marigot Bay, on the west side of the island, is very close to Georges Charles Airport. The marina is centrally located on the island, offering quick access to popular island excursions. For example: a tour of Soufrière, the world’s only drive-in volcano; a visit to the Diamond Baths for a relaxing bath in the earth’s rejuvenating heated pools; a tour of the Botanical Gardens or the Toraille Waterfalls. You surely cannot miss snorkelling at Anse Chastanet Coral Reef where unusual, colorful and beautiful fish and coral reefs can be seen. Take a bath in the clean water of Jalousie Beach. The white sand and stunning setting, between the twin Gros and Petit Piton volcanic peaks, makes this beach south of Soufrière a favourite spot for snorkellers and scuba divers. Sailing south, you will reach St Vincent, a mountainous

Chief Stewardess & Chef Insights Rosi Kozhuharova, Chief Stewardess of M/Y Ocean Sapphire. “To those ones who ask me what my favorite destination is, I always reply Sardinia: you get to experience crystal clear waters and still benefit from the incredible food our chef can prepare with the fresh local products. What makes me a great chief stewardess? Passion: if it is so for any job, it is crucial when working in hospitality. The chief stewardess plays a pivotal role onboard-often acting as the link between guests, crew and captain. The happiness and well being of my guests is paramount to me. The experience helps in the service in presenting and looking after the yacht at best - but what does it is the personal sensibility together with a strong passion for creating memorable experiences for our guests.”

60

 Guillaume Chambon, Chef Insights of M/Y Ocean Sapphire. “I wanted to become a chef since I was a young boy. I come from a family who loves food and gathering, great at hosting the best dinners. I was immediately impressed by what chefs can do with tastes, flavours, and colours. I’m an artist at heart, and plates are my canvas. I love food, so it is very hard to limit my appreciation to just one dish. I am well versed in international cuisines. I prefer my food to be healthy, tasty, hearty, and beautifully presented. What’s the key ingredient for a fabulous and delectable meal on a yacht?Fresh, local products are certainly essential, but the love and passion for cooking is the heart of any delicious meal.”

St. Martin, St. Barth's & Anguilla

66

St. Martin is another perfect location where to start your Caribbean cruise: an International Airport is available, and there are plenty Marinas. For example, the wonderful Port Cupecoy is a luxurious location with a Yacht Club, a Resort, chic restaurants and lively entertainment situated around a seaside square. Following a cruise around the island to admire Grand Case Bay, Anse Marcel, Orient Bay and Le Gallion beach, you can head towards a location you surely cannot miss, the famous St. BarthĂŠlemy, where you will have the opportunity to berth in the fascinating Gustavia Port.

Hotel, with a fine dining restaurant and a well equipped beach club. On the north coast are Pointe Milou, Anse du Grand Culde-Sac (a perfect location for wind- and kite-surfing, equipment can be rented on site), and Anse de Petit Culde-Sac with wonderful beaches and different charming restaurants and hotels, such as Le Ti St. Barth and Hotel Guanahani. Another paradise which cannot be missed is the spectacular Anguilla, famous for its wonderful beaches. For example, Shoal Bay, considered one of the top 5 beaches in the world. There are small restaurants where one can eat local food and fresh fish, and a Padi Centre for diving and snorkelling. In the north east enjoy breathtaking landscapes. We suggest a visit to the wonderful Crocus Bay on the north side of the island, Rendez-Vous Bay in the south west and cruise towards Sandy Island, a small paradise with only one Restaurant where you can eat very good fresh fish.

St. Barth’s is a very small island with beautiful beaches and breathtaking landscapes. Everything has a high standard/ quality. International renowned brands and boutiques are available, especially in the city of Gustavia. The best beaches to visit are: Shell Beach, covered by shells; Anse Du Grand Colombier, which offers spectacular sunsets; Saint Jean Bay, which hosts Nikki Beach - the Caribbean version of the famous Tropezienne Club; and Eden Rock 67

If your Mediterranean fantasies feature balmy days by sapphire waters in the shades of ancient walled towns, Croatia is the place where you can turn fantasies into reality. Starting off in Split, the second-largest city in Croatia, always buzzing and providing the right balance between tradition and modernity. Split has a unique setting: it’s dramatic coastal mountains act as the perfect backdrop to the turquoise waters of the Adriatic Sea. Stretching along the central part of the Croatian coastline there are the Kornati Islands. With their extensive natural beauty, diverse coastline, and preserved marine ecosystem, most of the Kornati Islands were declared a National Park in 1980. Heading down towards the Pakleni Islands, which got their name (Hell Islands) from paklina, the resin that once coated boats and ships. This amazing group of 21 wooded isles is surrounded by crystal-clear sea, secluded beaches, and private lagoons. Whether you visit Dubrovnik for the first or hundredth time, the sense of awe never fails to seize you when one sets eyes on the beauty of the old town. It is an inestimable pearl!

MONTENEGRO

Montenegro, Crna Gora - Black Mountain: the very name conjures up images of romance and drama, and this fascinating land doesn’t disappoint on either fronts. Kotor, a dramatically beautiful town, is wedged between brooding mountains and a moody corner of the bay. From a distance, its sturdy walls are barely discernible from the mountains, but at night they are spectacularly lit. The waters, mirroring such beauty, create a golden halo around the town. As symbol of Montenegro tourism, Budva certainly has a lot to offer. Besides its beauty, its islets, and beaches, it has a significant cultural heritage. Budva Old Town lies on a small peninsula, and represents a true treasure with the churches of Sv. Ivan, Sv. Bogorodica and Sv. Sava, and Sv. Trojica. Looking for fun time? No worries: it is also the buzziest place on the coast, with plenty occasions to party!
