hanks to the large experience gained over the years in FRESH-CUT FRUIT and DEHYDRATED FRUIT processing lines, M.F.T. has recently implemented their very popular AUTOMATIC FRUIT CUTTERS with new integrated functions making them suitable for slicing several types of fruit. The long experience of M.F.T. in the dehydrated fruit sector has resulted in the development of the AUTOMATIC RING SLICER mod. MW-R which has now new application to the fresh-cut and preserves fruit sectors. The automatic ring-slicer has now been implemented
for CUTTING into RINGS and eventually coring APPLES, PEARS, PEACHES, NECTARINES, PERSIMMONS, KIWIS, ORANGES, LEMONS and PINEAPPLES with the possibility of producing smooth ring slices (down to 2mmthickness) and crinkle-
cut apple slices. Particularly dedicated not only to the dehydrated fruit business but also to the freshcut business, the AUTOMATIC FRUIT WEDGER AND CHUNKER mod. MW is now available for coring and cutting not only APPLES but also

he 16th edition of DJAZAGRO, the Trade Fair for Agri-Food production, lowered its curtain on 12 April 2018. Over the space of four days, the exhibition welcomed 740 exhibiting companies from 34 countries and recorded 20,500 entries, including 8% from outside Algeria. Once again, the show was a crossroads for exchange and meetings between the suppliers of machines, equipment and solutions on the one hand and Algerian manufacturers and investors on the other.
An Algerian exhibitor contingent up by 10% The number of Algerian firms exhibiting at the show rose by 10% this year, confirming the event’s crucial role in supporting and developing Algerian production. Visitor numbers also increased by 2%. All of our exhibitors em-
phasised the quality of these visitors, with strong representation from all profiles from bakery and pastry professionals to manufacturers of machines, equipment and food products, importers, exporters and distributors of these products. This increased attendance also reflects the wealth, diversity and quality of the exhibition’s offering, across all sectors of the food industry.
DJAZAGRO was officially inaugurated by Mr. Abdelkader BOUAZGHI, Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries and by Mr. Djellab SAID, Minister of Trade. This inauguration was followed by an official tour of the show by the two ministers.

odularity, flexibility and practicality are key concepts in a company whose strong point is technological innovation and development. This is what the market wants and this is what customers get from the Italian based Makro Labelling, international standard setter for industrial labellers in the beverages, food, detergent and pharmaceutical sectors. The thirty years’ experience of its founders, a team of 90 people, a dense and well-organised sales network consisting of the branch offices Makro UK for the United Kingdom and the new Makro North America in Saint-Philippe (Montreal) for Canada and the USA, together with agents and representatives in the
most important countries throughout the world, plus an impeccable assistance and spare parts service guarantee satisfaction of every labelling need and constant expansion on all the most important international markets. A range of labellers for production speeds of
1,500 to 50,000 b/h The range includes labellers able to process from 1,500 to 50,000 bottles per hour, applying up to five labels per bottle and available in wet glue, hot melt, selfadhesive and combined versions. For companies with limited production requirements, the MAK

01, MAK 02 and MAK 1 labellers provide speeds of up to 12,000 b/h with mechanical or electronic rotation of the bottle plates. With special applications and able to cope with production speeds of up to 50,000 b/h, the MAK 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 labellers, on the other hand, satisfy the needs of medium to large companies. The range includes a high speed self-adhesive labeller with reel winders and non-stop system enabling production to continue at maximum speed even during reel changes and a combined labeller to
apply the fiscal guarantee seal. For the high volume PET market, such as the water and soft drinks sector, Makro Labelling has developed the MAK Roll Feed series of rotary labellers. The 6,000 b/h to 40,000 b/h production speed and use of wrapround plastic labels on a reel with hot melt application guarantee maximum economic benefits in the production process. The modularity of the machine also allows the roll feed unit to be replaced with a hot melt unit for pre-cut, wet glue or self-

adhesive labels. Again designed for the water and soft drinks market, but needing between 6,000 and 16,000 b/h, the new series of MAKLINE Roll Feed labellers features motorised axles and brushless motors to minimise costs while maintaining meticulous labelling quality. The new doublestation self-adhesive MAKLINE is, on the other hand, designed for the beverages, food, detergent and pharmaceutical sectors. It packages large and small

tarting immediately, visitors can register for upkovka 2019 free of cost under www.upakovkatradefair.com. The most important Russian trade fair of the packaging industry and the related processing industry takes place at the AO Expocentre Krasnaja Presnja exhibition centre in Moscow from 29 January to 1 February, 2019. After a positive trend with a corresponding increase in visitors to last year’s fair was already noted at the beginning of this year, early signs for 2019 are promising once more: After cautious consumption during the years of recession, Russian consumers are now increasingly reach-
ing for high-quality packaged foods again. The sale of soft drinks is also rising. At the same time, Russia is resolutely continuing its policy of import substitution. Thanks to state support and subsidies, the percentage of locally produced products has increased. For the further
processing of these products, Russian and international companies are unabatedly investing in the development and expansion of their local production capacities, boosting the demand for packaging, processing and bottling/ filling technology in the process.

Wide range from technology to packaging The upakovka trade fair exhibits promising products and solutions from the entire value chain for the target groups of food, beverages, confectionery products and baked goods, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, 2 non-food consumer goods and industrial goods with a focus on processing and packaging technology, whereby the packaging part of the upcoming event is once again considerably expanding in scope. The increased alignment towards the pharmaceutical sector due to the partnership with the Association of Pharmaceutical Packaging Manufacturers (APFU) is also new in 2019. APFU represents the interests of leading Russian manufacturers of pharmaceutical packaging. At upakovka, pharmaceutical companies not only find solutions for solid products, but also for liquid medications. In addition to beverage bottling technology, filling technology for cosmetics and chemicals is part of
the offerings of exhibitors such as KHS, Krones, Sidel and SMI. Companies that are taking part within the scope of the official German delegation also include global players such as Fawema, KBA, Theegarten-Pactec, Sollich and Thyssenkrupp Rasselstein. Added to this

After the lively interest of the last two years, the forum programme of innovationparc will take placein parallel on two stages at upakovka
2019. In this way, visitors can obtain even more information on the trending topics of the industry throughout the duration of the trade fair. Focuses will include “Digital Innovation for Packaging & Labelling,” “Packaging Design,” “Recycling and Packaging Waste” and, for the first time, “Pharmaceutical Packaging and Labelling.” The latter is of particular interest to affected companies 3 due to new legal regulations. In addition, a block will once again be provided on the topic of SAVE FOOD in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization

At the CBB Forum, first-class speakers provided insights and outlooks for the beverage and liquid food industry. Apart from sustainability and digitalization, the future of the PET segment was also a hotly debated topic. The newly introduced Round Table Talks gave visitors the chance to learn more about this and other issues in the beer and beverage market. dti’s supporting program was highly popular among visitors and very well attended on all three days. It contained of Round Table Talks, Craft Beer Seminars as well as the newly introduced place2beer and OTAI Seminars of the the Oil Technologists’ Association of India (OTAI) and the seminar of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). Next Shows The next dti in Mumbai will be held from December 9 to 11, 2020. In 2019, dti will be held in Bengaluru for the first time. It is
scheduled for February 28 to March 2. The event will also be held next year once again - from December 5 to 7 in New Delhi. By applying the new local approach to dti, the show will reach relevant visitor groups in the regions in a more systematic manner. Tapping this potential is a key value-added factor for the customers.

WEIGHTPACK: CONSTANT INNOVATION
eightpack’s future outlook continues in the direction planned by the founder, Carlo Cormiani, by running ahead of its time and satisfying the new challenges in the field of filling sensitive and/or difficult products. The increasing speed with which technology continues with its development, demands a running investment and commitment towards research and development: a constant for Weightpack that favours a
run ahead instead of running after new innovations. Weightpack will move further in the coming year 2019 on the way of innovation and continuous research that seeks an improvement and simplification of the standard manufacturing process for the clients. Because of its well-developed ten-year experience, Weightpack is able to adapt its solutions to the special conditions of the clientele, whereby it gives special attention to changes that the market requires. Filling of a net
weight confirms the advantages of its precision work, lack of contact with the container, the optimisation of fluid mechanics for bottling outlet (the instrument is far beyond the valve and thus does not impose any restrictions on the design). In accordance with the advantages of a net filling, the tankless technology enables a quick product change and therefore an intensive production process and reduces idle time. This system pushes for an optimisation of the intermediate processes that are not directly

connected with filling: the absence of a container transforms into another advantage for all companies that wish to operate typical time intervals for conventional systems flexibly, i.e., without being enforced by technical cleaning and hygiene processes. In step with this everlasting filling progress Weightpack invested to a significant extent in technologies for sensitive food stuffs. For over ten years the company has been working on developing more comprehensive procedures that are required for using a higher net filling precision while packaging food stuffs with longer life time. The tested filling methods thus range from sour products distributed in a cold product chain to the less sour milk and cheese preparations that can be distributed without cooling. The new challenge of the Italian manufacturing company lies in rationalising transitions while filling sensitive products that originate from any preforming of PET containers
combined aseptic system: one for the long life cycle market of already completed containers is thereby manufactured in an exclusive, compact, efficient and environment-friendly machine. Weightpack is also careful about customer care and shall endeavour to ensure that the relationships proceed not just commercially but in collaboration: thereby resulting in a partnership that provides for a common growth and development in which the partners have a useful interaction. In this specific sense, Weightpack promoted the creation of a test area effective in its working space, that enables a continuous quality control as it is designed for long-term trials and review checks with maximum confidentiality (The room is shielded and protected by security systems, that is permissible only for responsible personnel).
NEWS
Furthermore, it WP allows the clients to pursue processes themselves in the test area over a communication system, which guarantees an optimal, cooperative transparency for direct conversation with partners. Realising these strategies puts Weightpack in the upper echelons of the companies that have provided innovations in the field and still show beat and rhythm in market development and the technologies dedicated to them. The fascinating challenge lies in the opportunity to be able to offer the continuous and fluid development that the sector demands and entrusts itself to everlasting research that can always assure innovative and above all personalised solutions thanks to its rich experience. www.weightpack.com

EQUIPMENT FOR REFRIGERATION, STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION OF FRESH AND FROZEN FOOD
F
or over 50 years, Zanotti Spa has been designing and manufacturing equipment for the refrigeration, storage and transportation of fresh and frozen food. Founded in 1962 as a family-run business with the conception of the new and revolutionary “uniblock” system, a complete cooling system that is autonomous and ready to be used for small needs, the management changes made in 2002 led the Zanotti company towards international grounds and turned it into a managing structure that was better prepared to face competitors worldwide. Over time, Zanotti has improved its series, which are now the most complete offers available on the market. Zanotti can meet the food cooling needs of the entire cold chain, thus, of the preservation of raw materials, of their processing, storage and distribution to supermarkets, specific shops or restaurants. The units designed for refrigerated transportation com-
plete the series and ensure foods are handled safely. The products developed by Zanotti cover the needs of small to medium-sized cooling necessities, as well as the needs of logistic and storage centers: monoblocks, multi-compressor stations, condensing units and cooling systems for food, but also for the aging of cold meats and cheeses, to refine wines or to dry grains in silos. The diesel unit completes the cooling chain with its split battery system or others, which were specifically designed for the short, medium to long distance transportation of food. The industrial division designs and implements equipment for ice tracks, like the new ones of Courmayeur and the Arena of Minsk, which is the
biggest one in Europe. Recently, the company acquired a new contract to make a track, with Olympic features, in the new ice stadium of Kazakistan. The works will soon begin. The installation will be implemented with the latest free-cooling technologies that use the cold from outdoors at certain times of the year. Recently, Zanotti was chosen by a major airline of the United Arab Emirates to make a system for their new catering center for a value of 21 millions of dollars; in the international airport to increase the production of 260,000 meals a day that will be distributed on board of the new Boing fleet. It’s one of the biggest and most modern structures of this kind world-

wide and, therefore, it requires highly reliable systems, top notch final touches and strict hygienic conditions with regards to the equipment. As a result of this important contract, Zanotti recently won the tender for the supply of a similar installation; which should be implemented in the new airport of Muscat, in the Sultanates of Oman. Other successes ensure the reliability of the Zanotti installations, implemented worldwide, such as the one of the Kabardino-Balkaria Republic to design and provide an installation to preserve apples in a controlled atmosphere for long periods, up to 7 months. Here, Zanotti has crushed the German competitors by presenting projects with advanced technologies that use intermediate nontoxic fluids from a nutritional viewpoint. Nationally speaking, Zanotti has completed works with a leading Italian cheese manufacturer by implementing an aging system of the highest level thanks to the latest technologies; maximum energy savings with low operating costs, maximum reliability to reduce maintenance and to ensure the continuity of operations through centralized management and with a supervision system. Today,
Zanotti Spa is an International Group with production plants in Spain, England and it counts on a strong network of certified suppliers who provide expertise and assistance worldwide. The quality of the Zanotti products is the primary concern of the production unit. Actually, the products have been ISO 9001 certified in Italy, they have received the EC marking in Europe, the Gost in Russia and the UL in the US for several years now. These markings and certifications are based on the local standards of quality. The attention devoted to customers and the flexibility of the products are essential characteristics for Zanotti: investing in research and development to better meet customer demand by providing more convenient solutions in terms of energy savings and reliability of use is a priority. The know-how Zanotti acquired over 50 years also concerns the environmental aspects involved since the products are developed to provide low energy consumptions and reduced noise levels; as to meet the current technological trends that aim to contain greenhouse gas emissions. This is how the BESTCOPÂŽ technology was created. It is applied on the

motorized condensing units that are manufactured by Zanotti to improve the efficiency and energy consumption levels of the cooling equipment. This basically can be translated into energy savings (from 15 to 20% depending on the different environmental conditions). The technological research is at the base of the investments Zanotti allocates every year to better meet the needs of the customers’ requirements by taking their work needs and the greenhouse gas emission standards into consideration. Innovation, energy savings, quality and competence are the key words that best describe the works implemented by Zanotti up to today and they also represent a promise for the future. Recently Zanotti is joining the Daikin Group. This special event symbolizes the 3rd phase of evolution of Zanotti and can now be truly considered to be one of the largest, if not THE largest refrigeration Company in the world today, with certainly the most diverse product range imaginable. Zanotti is still the head office for the refrigeration field, but is now stronger with a great partner like Daikin.

SENSORS, SAFETY AND RFID SYSTEMS FROM THE SPECIALISTS
C
ontrinex is a leading manufacturer of inductive and photoelectric sensors as well as safety and RFID systems. The Swiss innovation company has a broad product range and is now represented in over 60 countries worldwide. In the field of miniature sensors, full-metal components, sensors with long switching distances and solutions for demanding environmental conditions, the company is a world market leader. Contrinex is a trendsetter in innovation and is constantly setting new standards in the field of sensors. An example of this is the standard equipment of sensors and new RFID read/ write modules with an IO-Link interface. This

interface is an important prerequisite for the networking of processes (Industry 4.0), since it enables sensors to be integrated into the entire communication system via IO-Link. Reading and analyzing relevant process data is not the
only advantage. It is also possible to set sensor response behavior and influence the output onor off-delay. Users also have the option of remotely configuring the sensor via IO-Link, saving lengthy changeover time, espe-

cially in hard-to-reach installations. Devices can be used either as binary sensors or as sensors with a data interface. So the customer does not have to decide before buying, how any sensor will ultimately be used. UV light sensors facilitate the control of transparent objects A major innovation is the photoelectric sensor TRU-C23, which Contrinex launched on the market in 2017. This sensor is ideal for controlling the presence of transparent objects a task that pushes conventional optical sensors to their limits. The TRU-C23 uses polarized UV light and a reflex operating principle. Since even transparent materials such as plastic or glass readily absorb UV light, the threshold at which the sensor switches can be set very easily. This makes commissioning much easier. The housing, measuring just 30 x 20 x 10 mm, is com-

patible with the entire C23 series as well as comparable devices. Like all C23 sensors (diffuse, reflex, background suppression and through-beam types) the TRU-C23 includes an IO-Link interface at no extra cost, is Ecolab tested and approved, rated to IP67 and reliably withstands common industrial cleaning processes. Typical applications for the TRU-C23 are packaging systems and filling systems for glass or plastic bottles.
Extremely robust: fullmetal sensors With their robust stainless-steel housing and IP68/IP69K protection rating, the full-metal sensors of the Full Inox family are virtually indestructible. They withstand corrosion and salt water as well as pressures up to 80 bar. Operating distances are particularly long, with factor 1 on steel and aluminum. Thanks to the integrated ASIC, Contrinex can manufacture Full Inox sensors with diameters as small as 4 mm - making them

the smallest inductive sensors with IO-Link in the world. For applications in which sensors are exposed to aggressive chemicals, dirt particles or high temperatures, Full Inox Washdown sensors are ideal. These sensors in food-grade stainless steel V4A are Ecolab-certified for continuous use under harsh conditions with stringent hygiene standards. This makes them ideal for position and presence monitoring in the production of food, beverages and pharmaceuticals. Metal drilling or grinding processes present a difficult challenge for inductive sensors. The presence of metal debris can cause false switching, especially when the sensing face is covered with a mixture of lubricant and metal chips. To avoid the need for frequent cleaning, Contrinex now offers a chip-immune series of Full Inox inductive sensors in M12, M18

MINI MOTOR PRESENTS WBS, THE FIRST WIRELESS SERVOMOTOR
W
BS, DR and SS: here are the three Mini Motor news for 2018, officially presented at SPS Ipc Drives Italy and Ipack Ima. Three simple codes for three complex and innovative projects, which confirm the design and production philosophy of Mini Motor: servomotors and all-in-one gearmotors, with perfect integration of all components, optimized design, excellent performance and advanced connectivity. Three projects created to meet specific needs in the world of automation and motion control. An evolutionary leap towards an unprecedented approach to the world of automation: this is the vision behind WBS, an all-in-one product capable to increase flexibility and simplify the operation of automation systems. WBS is a series of wire-
less brushless servomotors with integrated drive, thanks to the built-in wireless interface and the presence of an inductive charging battery. Extreme freedom both in design and in operation, ease of maintenance, kilometers of cables saved and no need to organize the wiring in detail. For the Industry 4.0 scenarios, automation and motion control, the WBS products, available at the beginning of 2019, are the ideal components, together with those of the DBS
series, brushless servomotors with integrated drive, equipped with multiturn absolute encoder and extended connectivity with the support of the 6 most common fieldbuses: CanOpen, Modbus, Ethercat, Ethernet / IP, Profinet and Powerlink. For the highly demanding food & beverage and pharmaceutical sectors, Mini Motor proposes the SS series engines, which combine the reduced dimensions with the superior characteristics of stainless steel: with a

completely smooth surface without any grooves, protection level IP69K, they are ideal for use in aggressive environments or when high standard hygienic standards are required. From this point of view, stainless steel has characteristics similar to glass and porcelain and ensures resistance to corrosion, surface compactness, absence of porosity, high bacterial removability in the cleaning cycles and low bacterial retentivity. The SS series products for food & beverage are made of Aisi 304 steel, but models in Aisi 316L steel known as marine steel for its exceptional corrosion resistance - are also available, a feature often required, for example, by the pharmaceutical sector. Equipped with integrated drive, connectivity and a new design able to reduce the overall dimensions and optimize space, the DR series motors represent the evolution of the classic single and three-phase motors. The perfect integration of drive, motor and gear reduces energy consumption and, thanks to the electronic speed control system, low load
consumption decreases significantly. The integrated drive allows you to fully manage speed and torque and let you set different speeds, which remain constant even when the load changes. Connectivity is guaranteed by a connection module that supports the six most common fieldbuses: CanOpen, Modbus, Ethercat, Ethernet / IP, Profinet and Powerlink. With the DR series motors, you can use a daisy chain connection, with 50% of cables reduction; plus, their optimized design guarantees space savings of up to 50%. Finally, all DR products are equipped with universal input - with 115/230 Volt and 50/60 Hz input -

level below 1 ppm values; carbon dioxide dosing (or nitrogen in case of still mineral water production): a modulating valve and a mass flow rate transmitter inject carbon dioxide in quantity that is proportional to water quantity loaded to the deaeration tank; the water flow rate is usually measured by a magnetic flow rate transmitter, which may be replaced with a mass flow rate transmitter in case water presents a very low electrical conductivity level. A special gas injecting and mixing system - specifically developed by WS - performs a careful mixing with the water to be treated and, hence, best results in terms of product perlage; the carbon dioxide contents is maintained constant in the product receiving tank by a supervising software, which checks possible fluctuations in feeding water temperature and product buffer temperature; the effective dissolved carbon dioxide contents in the product is checked using a carbometric unit, installed in by-pass on the filling machine feeding line; syrup dosing and mixing: at first syrup is stored in a small buffer tank, whose

atmosphere is modified and enriched with carbon dioxide, in order to avoid oxidation occurrence. Syrup injection is made by a sanitary design modulating valve and a mass flow rate transmitter in a quantity which is proportional to the water amount fed from the deaeration tank; furthermore using the mass flow rate transmitter, it is possible to check constantly the effective density of the inlet syrup and therefore to compensate immediately for the dosing and to stabilize the sugary concentration in the end product within established bounds (usually ¹0,05 °Bx). A specific refractometer installed in by-pass on the filling machine feeding line, allows the constant check
of the product and, if necessary, its adjustment; similarly the instruments minimize waste of both syrup and product during transitory phases of production, such as start and stop. Furthermore, customized solutions for product cooling are available, depending on the environmental conditions of the system installation. The supervising software loaded on the mass premix unit - BLENDSYSTEM M - is conceived to guarantee the best results in terms of dosing, offering at the same time an easy control by a friendly user interface; this software enables on one hand to set the main production parameters and visualize their state graphically and on the other hand to

set the statistics parameters (ca, cp e cpk) connected to that kind of production. Using a more advanced version of this software, associated with specific instruments, it is also possible to control automatically saccharose inversion, so that the need of intervention by laboratory technicians is reduced. The equipment is equipped with field buses (MPI, PROFIBUS or ETHERNET) for a complete integration in the bottling line and the control of production, cleaning and sanitizing processes. www.watersystems.it

DRINK CUP, A GREAT EXAMPLE OF INNOVATION IN THE FIELD OF BOTTLED WATER FOR DISPENSERS
D
rink Cup is an Italian leading company in the bottling of water in PET bottles, representing one of the most innovative and dynamic companies in the industry, thanks to its patents. Among the many innovations that Drink Cup has introduced lately, one exemplifies the advantages that the company constantly look for not only for its customers, but also for the environment. This is the brand new SQUARE WATER BOTTLE that allows 30% extra storage and transportation of bottles for the same size. This means a reduction in the storage space for customers and a reduction in pollution to deliver the same amount of water. The owner of the company, Marco Antonio
Ferrero, explains that his factory is located in the fascinating Furlo Pass in the province of Pesaro and Urbino. The factory bottles the water that springs from the heart of Furlo Pass Natural Reserve. The environmental awareness is also testified by the recent 400 megawatt photovol-
taic system that has been installed on the roof of the production factory, which guarantees self-power generation for the factory, allowing the plant to be self-sufficient: each bottle is thus produced using solar energy. Moreover, in the factory the lighting is generated by low-impact

LED lights or energy-efficient fluorescent neon lights, and the heating is obtained by recovering the heat produced during the production processes. Before the bottling phase, during the cleaning and sanitising process of PET containers, Drink Cup has banned the use of detergents and polluting chemical agents, employing only self-produced ozone. Similarly, the objective of ‘zero environmental impact’ is pursued through the use of PET, an easily recyclable plastic material. The company collects from their
customers the empty bottles which are then shredded and reused to produce new non-food containers or synthetic fibers for the clothing or the automotive industry. The factory has a production capacity of over 4,000,000 bottles per year, with production lines and a high-tech warehouse featuring: • 6.000 sqm indoor; • storage capacity of over 300,000 bottles; • more than 2.000.000 sqm of area of appurtenance ensuring production quality; • an internal lab accredited by ACCREDIA, the
BOTTLING
National Accreditation Body, where two expert biologists constantly analyse the water so that all production lots are monitored in real time, continuously updating a complex system of HACCP and ISO 9000:2008 for the management of the entire production cycle. And there’s more in terms of innovation. Drink Cup has also designed and licensed an innovative system for the construction of wells for drinking water, which was developed by a startup called Water Wells. This startup was created to promote the

commercial development of a simple and clever idea that revolutionizes the way in which wells for drinking water are designed and built, with the following advantages over traditional technologies: • energy consumption is reduced by 10% - 60%, thanks to the decrease in pressure drop;; • installation time and costs are reduced as well as ordinary and extraordinary maintenance, thanks to the chain installation; • no need for sanitizing treatments since the proliferation of bacteria is prevented inside the well; • the wells are safe from aquifer pollution or attempts to sabotage (since they are isolated from the external environment and under pressure); • this technology can be used both on new wells and on wells already in use; • without feed pipe.

lines for milk and still water ( EV models) and edible oil (EM models). In ECOBLOC® version, combined with a filling and capping module, the new EBS K ERGON indeed offers even more advantages: • optimal performance with reduced costs for manufacturing, filling and capping containers up to 3 L, since this configuration does not require the rinser and the conveyor belts between the stretch-blow moulder and the filler; • precise and fast filling and capping process, thanks to the electron-

ic control system of the operations and the use of high-efficiency valves controlled by flow meters; • reduced time for preparing the machine for the cleaning operations, thanks to the use of false bottles integrated in the valve itself; • new design with modular frame, without welding, equipped with safety doors made of tempered, very resistant, long-lasting glass; • great quality-price ratio: the “combi” solution does not need the rinser, the conveyor belts between the stretch-blow moulder and the filler and the accumulation conveyors; • innovative and unique solution allowing to install the system even on small bottling lines. From today cap positioning is easier Automation procedures on bottling and packaging lines concern every machine on the line, including the ones that carry out simple operations; for these reasons,
SMI has created the gravitational cap grapper EASY-CAP, which takes the caps from the hopper, orients them properly and transfers them to the bottling line. Mechanical functionality and technological knowhow are integrated into the new EASY-CAP system, whose main feature is the integration in a single structure of three different devices, each one devoted to a specific function: the motorized hopper for the loading of loose caps, the elevated conveyor for the handling of caps from a loading to an unloading height and the the outfeed cap

The advantages of the new EASY-CAP grabber • very compact structure, made of AISI 304 steel, suitable for any layout solution; • fluid and linear movement, allowing to transport only correctly positioned caps, while the others fall back into the hopper through gravity; • system suitable for several types of plastic caps; • “user-friendly” operator interface, allowing the operator to use the machine easily and efficiently www.smigroup.it
