For over 33 years the ITLA has strived to operate as a member-oriented association where every member is valued and has a voice. Unfortunately, during the recent ITLA Election for Board of Director positions, some members did not receive ballots and some votes were not received by the independent accounting firm due to software and internet issues. Therefore, the ITLA has decided that another election is necessary to assure that the election is conducted in a fair and honest format. The ITLA apologizes to anyone who may have been inconvenienced, especially candidates, but the ITLA feels this process is necessary to insure every member has the opportunity to vote and that the election results may be relied upon as representative of the members’ desires. New election details will be forthcoming very soon.

When this issue comes to you, the convention will be happening in Duncan. I have been happy to see all the exciting things being promoted. There is something for everyone! Here in the east, we have a big, excited group of members and youth who will be attending.
With the convention comes the unofficial end of the year. Sometimes this is the turning point for change within ITLA and the upcoming season. I am very excited to be turning over the seat of vice president to Mr. Brad Westmoreland. Brad has been an absolute pleasure to work with and he brings so much positivity to our board. In addition to serving as parliamentarian, he has been very active in getting issues sorted out and moving forward for the industry. Please give him a warm welcome when you see him. I also wish President Freeman a great upcoming term as our leader.
I will continue to be involved on a local and national level supporting our registry any way I can. Please reach out if I can be of help to you.
I hope we have a cohesive and successful new board. It has been one of my greatest honors to serve.

Justin and his family are Lifetime ITLA members and are active in the Texas Longhorn community, from operating EJS Ranch Reproductive Services to shows and sales. He is proud to support the local FFA chapter by being a parent volunteer and also participates in career days. He is always willing to help out anyone when needed whether it be a friend or a stranger. You will see the Sabio family actively competing in sales, shows and assisting others to grow the industry.
ITLA is a great association that focuses on maintaining Texas longhorn characteristics. The ITLA focuses on improving customer service and ease/speed of registrations.

Hey y ’all my name is Rachael Martin I am the 2023 Miss ITLA Queen I am a senior in high school from North Carolina and a member of NETLA & ITLA. I love Jesus, family, animals, & kids. I have had the best time representing the ITLA this year and I’m looking forward to all the new experiences yet to come. It has been wonderful to teach others about Texas Longhorns and agriculture while meeting so many new people along this journey. Thank you all for giving me the opportunity to represent the breed we love through this special position.
1 Timothy 4:12Hey Y’all! This will be my last article as your 2023 Miss ITLA Queen, and I would like to start off by saying the Longhorn family welcomed me with open arms and helping hands and I want to thank all of you for being so supportive and helpful to me this year! I would not have made it this far without you. A huge thank you also to North Carolina Nash County Farm Bureau, NETLA, & the many people across the country who donated to our North Carolina - Texas Longhorn Show Team helping us to raise the funds to return to the 2023 Championship Show!
Being a part of the ITLA has changed my life in so many ways for the better. It changed my perspective on not only what I want to study in college but how I view myself. I now have a love and passion for leadership and public speaking that had not taken root in my life until I got the chance to become the ITLA Queen. Through this position, I have been able to develop in these areas by representing and educating the public about the Texas Longhorn Industry. I have not only been able to grow my love for these things, but the Lord has also used this Queen position to teach me how to be bold in the things I am passionate about, and I will forever be thankful to have been given the chance to represent ITLA in this way. Yesterday I even got the wonderful opportunity to introduce my brother to the cattle that I am showing. It was such a blessing getting my family to share in the fun. A special memory, the perfect ending to this year, providing another great moment to share something I am passionate about with the people I love.
This past year, I not only got to teach others, but I was able to learn a lot myself and I very much enjoyed being 2023 Miss ITLA Queen. I hope all the future Queens will feel the same way and I cannot wait to see who gets to receive this same opportunity as 2024 Miss ITLA Queen.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the 2023 Championship Show and Futurity this October in Duncan, Oklahoma and I am so excited to see all the new calves that are soon to come! Good luck to all and God bless!
God Bless,Rachael
Galatians 2:20
MartinI am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
I am a 12 year old Idaho farm girl in her 4th year showing long horns She has represented the ITLA as their Princess following in her older sister's royalty footsteps. Art and livestock of all types fill her time Entering the 7th grade this Fall, Ally will have wrapped up her 4th year in 4H and will be prepping for the ITLA Championship Show where she will be among several Idaho youth travelling south to show their long horns.
IIt has been a great year representing the ITLA from the great northwest. We rounded out the summer at the ITLA Top of the West show. I am thankful to have served as Princess and wish good luck to the next ambassadors. I made my last appearance alongside Miss Rodeo North Dakota and my sister who will compete for Miss Rodeo America! In preparation for the NFR in December we cannot make this year ' s Championships, but will see you all next October!

Wow! I can’t believe how fast this year has gone. I would like to thank everyone behind the scenes that make the longhorn gatherings possible. I have met so many wonderful and supportive people during my term. I am sad my term is over but I’m excited for the next ITLA Little Miss to have this great opportunity. I love the Texas Longhorn and the Texas longhorn people. I look forward to seeing you all at the championship show. Leah
