Cognicue - Helping Firms Make Better Decisions

In a world where communication plays a pivotal role, understanding the nuances of human emotions and expressions can be a game-changer. CogniCue, a dynamic start-up founded by Kanan Tandi and Fasih Ahmad Fakhri, aims to harness the power of artificial intelligence to analyze non-verbal signals and convert them into meaningful insights. By leveraging facial expression recognition, emotion analysis, and sentiment analysis, CogniCue offers a range of products and services that cater to various sectors, including finance, education technology, and recruitment. Let's delve into the intriguing journey of this Goa-based start-up and explore the impact they are making.

The Genesis of CogniCue

In November 2019, Kanan and Fasih, both having backgrounds in tech start-ups, realized the potential of emotion detection as a valuable use case for media and over-the-top (OTT) platforms. They embarked on a journey to create a platform that could accurately interpret kinesics, encompassing facial expressions, voice, text, and emotions. After rigorous data gathering and modelling, CogniCue was officially registered as a company in February 2021.

Product and Service Offerings

CogniCue's platform offers a range of services that utilize artificial intelligence to analyze non-verbal signals. Their flagship product combines facial expression recognition, emotion analysis, and sentiment analysis, making it a powerful tool for financial institutions and the banking sector. By accurately interpreting consumer videos during loan disbursements and insurance claims, CogniCue provides valuable metrics that assist in determining risk and trust scores. This empowers businesses to make informed decisions when engaging with customers, ensuring fair assessments and mitigating potential risks.

Beyond the finance industry, CogniCue has also made strides in the EdTech sector. Their platform aids interview practice and provides AI-generated feedback to facilitate skill development. Additionally, the recruitment sector benefits from CogniCue's capabilities, which enable mass interview scheduling, conducting, and screening of candidate responses based on multiple metrics. These services revolutionize the hiring process, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

Words of Advice to Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Kanan and Fasih's entrepreneurial journey teaches us an important lesson. Not every business idea achieves immediate success, but taking that first step and starting the journey is crucial. They emphasize the importance of improvisation over a fully fleshed-out plan. Aspiring entrepreneurs should embrace experimentation and adaptability, allowing their ideas to evolve and grow.

Through their focus on transparency, efficiency, and meaningful insights, CogniCue is transforming the way businesses make informed decisions and engage with customers. As they continue to make strides in the BFSI sector and beyond, CogniCue's impact is set to reshape industries and contribute to a more perceptive and empathetic world.
