Rohir Naik is a passionate technologist and the youngest self-made entrepreneur and technologybased mastermind in Goa. He is heading Coderix Solutions LLP as its CEO. His area of expertise has been designing and development, digital marketing, developing web applications, and web hosting, in which he has demonstrated his excellence quite brilliantly.
Rohit Naik started his journey into this 11 years ago as a freelancer and has many global projects under his belt. He has always been working on his skills and expertise in an effort to enhance them so that he could be the best coder, business developer, and founder.
completed his studies at Almeida High School in Ponda and later completed his degree in Computers from Don Bosco College, Panjim, and later Post Graduation at Chowgule College Margao. He has also done a practical course on Cyber Crime Investigation under the guidance of Dr. Herald D’Costa and has singlehandedly solved many cases of Credit and Debit card money theft in and around Ponda.
Giving us a peek into his personal life, Rohir is married to Shreya Ekawde and has a kid named Eeshan. Rohir likes to contribute to society and is quite active on that front. Since his area of excellence is technology, he tries his best to do good for the community with the help of technology. During Demonetization in 2016, he made a WebApp through which people could locate their nearest ATMs and get relevant information about them. He did something similar during the Covid19 pandemic, where people could locate local vendors around them for their daily needs.
Rohir was never the kind of person who would be afraid of taking chances or someone who would back
down from a challenge. He always had an optimistic look towards life and a confident approach to the challenges he faced. This fearless approach led him to start his first business right after completing his graduation and now he has built a business in web development. Now Rohir is looking at the next chapter of his life, entrepreneurship. Rohir was never interested in commerce graduation as he knew his interest was somewhere else and not in commerce. When he got acquainted with computers later on in his life, it helped him decide his future path. Despite doing his high secondary in Commerce background he knew his interest was in the stream of Technology. He could not afford a computer which is a must-have for anyone wanting to be a part of the Tech Fraternity. Rohir is extremely thankful to the former CM of Goa, Late Manohar Parikar for his idea of giving free computers to 12thgrade students in Goa. the “Cyberage Scheme” changed his life and today he runs a successful startup called ‘Coderix’. Later he opted for BCA at Don Bosco College, he got to learn a lot about the tech field. He would practice often in college in off times or after college sitting in the lab as internet services back then were quite turbulent. After his BCA, Rohir took up freelance work like website development and web application development. Lack of opportunities prevailed at that time and not many companies were appointing programmers or web developers which closed all doors for him because of this he had to take up freelance work. Work from home was a far-away concept at that time, and neither did many IT companies provided opportunities in Goa. “I even made up my mind to go abroad if I didn’t get any opportunities here in Goa”, says Rohir. But before
doing that he decided to speak to his group of clients as he was engaging and working with them. Rohir has clients whose objectives align with theirs i.e. quality service and support. Rohir’s clients range from mid-size to high profile including some from across the globe. They have been working with some big names in various sectors like F&B Retail, Real Estate, Travel, Hospitality, etc.
Rohir has received many awards for his exemplary and brilliant work. He was awarded the Times Entrepreneurs of Goa 2021, and the Incredible Goa Awards 2021. His innovation rixCast was awarded the GTA Awards Night 2021, to name a few. Rohir says the major challenge while running a business has always been guidance. Funds were secondary. Without proper guidance and mentorship, it is very difficult to do business, especially in the IT industry. It took him years to learn business ethics and the processes to get the business going. He even encountered failures but he wasn’t the one to back down, he kept on going and took his business to the next level.
