You’re Invited! Transfer New Student Orientation

What to expect Your Program: New Student Orientation (NSO) for transfer students at IU is a required one-day program, with a mix of conference style sessions, academic advising, course registration, finances consultation, and more. (Note: If you’re transferring directly into the IU Jacobs School of Music, you’ll attend a twoday NSO program.) Make your reservation now for the most date options. Your day begins early. You may opt to stay on campus or in one of our partner hotels the night before. Information will be provided in your confirmation. Sessions: NSO includes presentations by professors, advising staff, career staff, and more. We’ll help prepare you for college at IU Bloomington with information about academics and careers, safety, financial responsibilities, support services, involvement, and much more. You’ll meet with an academic advisor, plan your course schedule, and register for classes.

Transfer New Student Orientation

Here is your next step Make your NSO reservation today As the student, YOU must be the one to make your own reservation, which includes several academic interest questions. 1. Log into your personalized FY(Me) page at fye.indiana.edu. Follow the instructions. You’ll see only the dates available to you based on your academic program and needs. Update your profile to include a parent/ family member so that they, too, may receive information from IU. 2. Once you complete your reservation, you will have immediate access to your NSO confirmation page, which you can view at any time by logging into your FY(Me) page. Your confirmation includes: •

Information about your required exams

Instructions for tasks you MUST complete before NSO

Details about travel, parking, meals, and accommodations during NSO

When to expect your final preparation packet and parking pass

3. Watch your email for updates and reminders about your program.

Fees Your NSO program fees are included in the $189 “Orientation and First Year” student fee assessed of all new transfer students, viewable on your first statement from the Office of the Bursar after NSO. You may bring up to two guests with you to NSO with no additional charges. Lodging and testing fees are separate.

We urge you to attend NSO during June or July. It’s the best way to register for classes and prepare for your first year at IU. If you can’t come in the summer, you will be required to attend the August program just prior to Welcome Week. Look for information about both programs at fye.indiana.edu.
