Note from the Editor At the heart of Heritage’s successes to date are its employees and the embodiment of our INSPIRE values. The values of Integrity, Nimbleness, Safety, Performance, Innovation, Respect and Excellence (INSPIRE) are meant to shape the way that we all work and conduct ourselves. They are also meant to be the foundation upon which the Heritage Culture is built. The INSPIRE Awards ceremony, which was held at The National Academy for the Performing Arts (North) on Wednesday 15 June 2022, celebrated the individuals and teams who best embodied and demonstrated the INSPIRE values. It was truly a fun and memorable event. In this special issue of The Drilldown, we celebrate our INSPIRE Award winners and spotlight the evening’s festivities. It is my hope through this employee spotlight, you would have a better understanding of our INSPIRE values in action and also feel as inspired as I am! Enjoy the issue! Overview of the INSPIRE Awards Heritage is committed to safely delivering positive results and financial returns that benefit the people of Trinidad and Tobago. This is the result of a dynamic strategy with strong and innovative policies supported by a team of skilled and dedicated professionals. In recognition of employees and in alignment with its vision to be an employer of choice and a source of pride to Trinidad and Tobago, Heritage held its first annual Heritage INSPIRE Awards at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) on Wednesday 15 June 2022. INSPIRE, an acronym for our corporate values of Integrity, Nimble, Safety, Performance, Innovation, Respect and Excellence, is core to our corporate identity. At the event, Team and Individual Awards representing each core value and tied to the business deliverables were presented. All permanent and direct contract Heritage employees with a minimum of one year’s service were eligible to be nominated by their respective Business Unit Leaders for these INSPIRE Awards. Each nomination had to be supported, verified and submitted to the Awards Adjudicating Committee who then deliberated before selecting the Awardees.

In his address to employees, Heritage Chairman Michael Quamina assured employees that they had the unwavering support of the Board of Directors which continues to strive to distinguish Heritage as an employer of choice by providing a safe and productive work environment. The Heritage story continues to evolve and expand. Without a doubt, success for Heritage means success for the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. Minister of Energy and Energy Industries the Honourable Stuart Young was a special guest at the INSPIRE Awards and delivered the feature address, commending employees for their valuable contributions to the national economy. Minister Young shared that he was present for the inception of the concept of Heritage and articulated: “I feel a real sense of pride, as a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago, to see what you, the employees, under the astute leadership of the Board and the CEO have managed to do with Heritage in a very short 10 minute highlights video

Seeta Maharaj
The Integrity Individual of the Year At Heritage, Integrity means that we deliver on our promises, treating one another fairly, honestly and respectfully, fostering relationships of trust with the broader society and community. Seeta Maharaj from the Business Development Business Unit is our Integrity Individual of the Year!
Seeta’s steadfast adherence to the Company’s code of conduct is demonstrated through her management of confidential and sensitive Company documentation, especially information related to the opening of bank accounts and other joint accounts with Heritage for ALL sublicense operators for 39 blocks. Sita has lived the Integrity value every day.

The Nimble Individuals of the Year For this award category, we have two Awardees!
At Heritage, Nimble means that we respond quickly whilst adapting in order to work effectively in ambiguous or changing situations, and with diverse individuals and groups. Our first Nimble awardee, Jerome Rajnauth is from Subsurface Business Unit.

Jerome skilfully managed opportunities and risks to deliver the Preliminary Reserves Estimate Report and the Final Reserves Estimate Report weeks earlier than expected. This was indeed an exceptional display of the Nimble value.
Our second Nimble awardee, Arnold Ramnarine is from the Offshore Business Unit.
Arnold’s nimbleness in leading the recovery of Offshore production whilst managing outcomes from Covid-19 case management, made him a shoo-in for this award.

Shantal Ramdeo
The Safety Individual of the Year Safety is at the core of everything we do at Heritage. We are committed to managing our business and communities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner in accordance with statutory requirements. Shantal Ramdeo from the Midstream Business Unit is our Safety Individual of the year!
Shantal’s contribution to the safe and compliant operations of HSSE and Process Safety Management requirements for the Company’s tank cleaning project made her a forerunner for this award. She was instrumental in the preparation and review of Task Risk Assessments, facilitating Management of Change and ensuring Control of Work procedures were followed.

The Performance Individual of the Year At Heritage, we have a commercial focus with a business mindset that promotes profitability and sustainability. We are committed to focusing our efforts on achieving high-quality results consistent with organisational standards and aspirations. Shanelle Jarvis-Sealey from the Finance Business Unit is our Performance Individual of the Year!
Shanelle was instrumental in publishing Heritage’s Financial Results and helping her Business Unit meet its performance objectives.

Donald Alves Kirt Robertson
The Innovation Individuals of the Year For this award category, we have two Awardees!
Innovation - We promote innovation that improves processes and results, generating viable, new approaches and solutions and continuously seeking to create new possibilities. Our first Innovation awardee, Kirt Robertson is from the Land Business Unit.
Kirt utilised innovative approaches on the Progressive Cavity Pump Drive Head Change Out project. The changes in the method of drive head replacement resulted in a cost savings of TTD 2,000,000.
Our second Innovation awardee, Donald Alves is also from the Land Business Unit.
Donald’s innovative management of the Mechanical Workshop and well site tank construction increased the Land Business Unit’s base production. Donald also initiated the construction of production tanks using salvage material, which was an exceptional display of the Innovation value. Congratulations, Kirt and Donald!

The Respect Individual of the Year Respect - We recognise, value, and leverage the unique perspectives, experiences and talents of every individual. Shivan Seetahal
Dion Callendar
The Excellence Individuals of the Year For this award category, we had two Awardees!
Excellence - We are values-driven, energising and inspiring others to strive for the best, and commit to common goals and purposes, creating a sense of self-efficacy, resilience and persistence. Our first awardee, Dion Callendar is from the HSSE Business Unit.
Dion was able to efficiently deliver a repair and maintenance programme for key assets. Additionally, an Ambulance and Emergency Rescue Vessel audit was conducted, and medical supplies were procured to effectively respond to medical emergencies and Case Management for Covid-19.
Our second awardee, Shivan Seetahal is from the Midstream Business Unit.
While Shivan’s substantive role is that of Asset Integrity Supervisor, he stepped up to lead and deliver as a Project Lead for all the BU Pipeline and Tank projects. Shivan demonstrated Excellence above and beyond the call of duty.

Southern TNA Joint Venture Negotiations Team is a cross-functional team representing Business Development, Subsurface, Law, and Finance. The team skilfully displayed nimbleness in negotiating the TNA Joint Venture. The Team was extremely organised throughout the negotiations, resulting in their ability to respond immediately and in the best interest of Heritage.

This is another cross-functional team representing Finance, Human Resources, Offshore, Corporate Communications, and Corporate Security. All long-standing team members served more than 150 days on the BST during the fiscal year.

For this award category, Land Business Units Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Supervisors is our Innovation Team of the Year! Land Business Unit O&M Supervisors developed new solutions to ongoing challenges. This included extensive electrical line clearing which resulted in a reduction of electrical deferrals by 65%. They also executed salvage maintenance initiatives, using parts from scrapped equipment to build working units, such as pumping jacks and positive cavity pump driveheads and transfer pumps.
