OUR 2013 JOURNEY A MESSAGE FROM CHAIRMAN NEIL GOSINE This past year has been the most transforming for NP. We have seen efforts by management and the Board of Directors to effect changes and make the company more efficient and cost-effective. There has been a great effort to change the way we see and do things. Although the change has not been easy and not supported by all, we hope everyone would trust in the vision to make NP number one in the region for delivery of fuels, and marketing of petroleum fuels and automotive speciality products. To change our culture takes more than one person or a single group of people. We all need to recognise in our hearts that NP, the company, is not the fuel storage tanks, not the RTWs that roll out every day to keep the nation fuelled, and not the lubricant-filling lines. NP is the people — all of us and how we perform and work together to make these things happen on a daily basis. NP has come a long way and continues to improve. For this journey to continue, it has to start from our own individual efforts and how we encourage our fellow workers and support each other. We need to collectively do our jobs to the best of our abilities and to always act in the best interest of NP. On a personal level, we all need to want to make NP a better place. We have faith in all of the employees of NP that it can be done, but success depends on all of us to continue this effort. We take this opportunity to wish each and everyone a safe and prosperous new year. From home to home and from our heart to yours, may the warmth and joy of Christmas bring us closer to each other. Be assured that with our combined efforts, NP will go on for another 40 years and beyond.

‘FOR ALL LIFE’S JOURNEYS’ CAMPAIGN PRESS ADS
The journey to world-class service and product excellence began with a simple premise: that the Trinidad & Tobago National Petroleum Marketing Company Limited (NP) and its products are an integral part of almost every facet of Trinbagonians’ day-to-day life. NP is a source of national pride, and such sentiment should run through our every interaction, and filter into what the company offers its customers. We have sought new means of being more accessible to the people we serve, and reflective of our passion and commitment to what we do, we have updated our logo. The campaign, ‘For all life’s journeys’, was launched this year.
Growing Up, Growing Out.
At age 40, we have learned alot and accomplished much we can be proud of.
We are the most diversified petroleum marketing company in the English-speaking Caribbean.
We’re finding new ways to serve you, improving our service stations, keeping up-to-date with technology and providing you with quality fuels and lubricants.
The American Petroleum Institute has rated our products as world-class and we have achieved ISO 9001 Certification.
Now, we’re expanding our horizons, setting up operations in the wider Caribbean region. Latin America is next.

ON THE ROAD WITH GEORGE BOVELL With our customers’ safety in mind, NP enlisted the help of George Bovell as our road safety brand ambassador in our new campaign, “Put Road Safety in Gear”. We hope that we can alleviate or have some positive impact on the current spate of road deaths in the country.
The company is thrilled with the progress that we have made thus far on our journey, and anticipate the many other positive changes 2014 will bring.

OUR BRAND Scores of happy Trinbagonians walked away winners in one of the two competitions NP held in 2013. In the first – Gas Up to Win – customers won brand new cars in addition to free gas for a year and free lubricants. Riding on the heels of the success of Gas Up, a second competition was launched in July – Hit the Road for Free with NP – with 12 drivers per week winning free gas for a year, and others winning car care hampers and other NP items. NP will continue to find innovative ways to show appreciation and say thank you to our loyal customers.
DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
NEW SERVICE STATIONS OPEN A natural part of our journey is improvement of our network. That’s why we continually put effort into upgrading our service stations and opening new ones, to better serve our customers. This year, we opened five brand new stations with world-class facilities and service — Roxborough, Carenage, Charlieville, Manzanilla and Charlotte Street, Port of Spain.

CULTURE
CULTURE
At NP, how we work is just as important as the products we make and all that we do to support communities. This ethic is part of the organisation’s culture and our core values that shape how we interact with both internal and external stakeholders. INTERNAL ENGAGEMENT
NP Launches Music Literacy Programme
We strive to ensure the company remains sustainable and successful. Key to achieving this goal is our engagement with employees and ensuring their work environment is safe and secure. Some milestones this year include the reappointment of the Board of Directors and the appointment of 15 new executives. NP also celebrated its 9th annual HSE week in June and a few months later, updated our HSSE logo to reflect our commitment to responsible and best practices in health, safety, security and environmental actions. We continued to be a major advocate of employee activities like the All-Star Cricket Team and we hosted a self-defence, one-day session for female managers. The year 2013 also saw a period of industrial difficulty in which 68 employees lost their jobs. Through it all, however, NP maintained its mission of adhering to good industrial relations and best business practices.
NP Board of Directors Reappointed
EXTERNAL ENGAGEMENT We have a legacy of giving back to society and this year was no exception. For 2013, NP engaged in several major initiatives: • Donating a drum-making machine to Pan Trinbago • Participating in Red Cross Kiddies Carnival • Launching a music literacy programme for secondary school students who attend schools near NP House

BUSINESS VENTURES
NP MAKES MOVES ACROSS THE GLOBE We’re always striving to expand the business of NP. Our commitment to this aspect has been solidified in the new Business Ventures unit which oversees our development both locally and regionally. Early this year, we began talks with Haitian representatives to explore possibilities for business there, and have been exploring the same for the Dominican Republic and other neighbouring areas. In August, we conducted a feasibility study to establish a Lube Oil Blending Plant (LOBP) in Panama. This year, General Manager of the department, Neil Bujun, negotiated a lucrative deal to sell 1,500 bbl of slop oil to a Chinese firm that will recycle the product. This venture created revenue for the company while exemplifying our commitment to environmental stewardship.
