Looking to build your career?
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, earning a graduate degree improves your earning potential and employment opportunities.
At IUP, you will find students just like you who want more. You’ll work with faculty members who have experience in the field and are ready to help you succeed. Your best interest is their best interest.
Cost is a big deal.
The good news is that this investment doesn’t have to come at a heavy price. Because IUP is a state-owned school, tuition tends to be less than other universities, and we can help you find scholarships, assistantships, and student loans where possible.
Find an option that MEETS YOUR NEEDS
Every person is unique. So are their circumstances.
We know that life gets busy and fitting a graduate degree into your life can be a daunting idea. But at IUP you’ll find the option that keeps you on track.
You can take graduate courses at our main campus in Indiana, our Pittsburgh East location in Monroeville, and in some cases online. We’ll fit into your schedule, not the other way around.
High school seniors can get a jump on a graduate degree before they even get their diploma. That’s right. The 4+1 program here makes it possible, getting you accepted into a graduate program before you even start college.
We also offer early admissions to more than 25 programs for IUP students who are already in college. Start taking graduate classes as a college junior and get a running start on your master’s degree while saving time and money.
And if you’re a veteran, well first of all, thank you for your service. We understand how difficult it can be acclimating to the college life after serving in the military. That’s why you’ll find all kinds of help at IUP, including the Military and Veterans Resource Center. You can even transfer in some of your military training as credits towards your degree. Just ask us how.

“The experiences I had at IUP really shaped me as an individual and a professional. We followed the theory to practice model, which helped bring the curriculum to life. I helped with a research project that led to a grant, developed a first-year residence hall tutoring program, and conducted diversity trainings at 30 different colleges. These experiences greatly prepared me for my career.”

Meanwhile, hands-on practicum experiences are helping our students practice what they learn in businesses all across Pennsylvania and the US. Indiana is in Pennsylvania, but our professors are known around the globe. They’re experts in their fields because they’ve continued to learn. And they are eager to pass along what they know.
“The relationship with my professors was an eye-opening part of earning my graduate degree at IUP. My program was mostly online, so I anticipated a more impersonal environment compared to on-campus programs. Instead, the professors were personally engaged with students, made sure to reach out on a periodic basis, and always made themselves available for questions or assistance.”
