SITE Djurdjevacki peski is a botanical reserve and one of the most unique attractions in Croatia. It is located eastern of the town of Djurdjevac in northern Croatia. The sand remaining in this area today is only a part of what was once 12 km long stretch of sand carried here by the strong winds of the Podravina region. It caused problems for the local people not only because it was a rather difficult task dealing with sand being carried by the wind everywhere, but the area was also rich in quick sand, and thus hazardous. Plants and bushes were planted during the last couple of centuries to prevent the sand from spreading to surrounding areas. The few sand dunes that managed to remain today are home to numerous endemic species of flora and fauna. Some of them are unique not only to Croatian nature, but of this part of Europe as well.

SUSTAINABLE SOCIAL HOUSING COMMUNITY = Residential sustainable and partially self-sufficient housing with minimal cost and increase the quality of housing for socially vulnerable groups and groups of people who want to live like that The idea is to provide quality housing with lower living costs to socially most vulnerable population. This can be achieved through the residential building that has the character of a passive house, the use of unconventional technologies of construction and materials so that future users can participate in the construction themselves and make the construction costs cheaper.
