Pantanal - Brasil Uma viagem fantástica realizada com mais dois amigos no período de 11 a 16 de agosto de 2015, com hospedagem no Hotel SESC Porto Cercado, localizado a 40 km de Poconé, a cidade porta de entrada do Pantanal Norte, através da famosa estrada Transpantaneira.
Após a chegada no aeroporto internacional de Cuiabá, são 100 Km de estrada asfaltada até Poconé. De lá, pegamos a excelente estrada que nos leva até o hotel. Chegamos no hotel por volta de 17:00 h e em meio ao registro e desembarque das malas ainda foi possível fazer as primeiras observações e fotos. Pantanal - Brazil A fantastic trip made with two friends in the period 11 to 16 August 2015, with lodging at the SESC Porto Cercado Hotel,
located 40 km from PoconĂŠ, the city North Pantanal's front door, through the famous Transpantaneira road. Upon arrival at the international airport of Cuiaba are 100 km of paved road to PoconĂŠ. From there we took the great road that takes us to the hotel.

12 ago No nosso primeiro dia de observação de aves decidimos explorar a área do hotel e a estrada que liga o hotel a
Poconé, pois sabíamos ser também um local com grande potencial para belas fotos.
Alugamos um carro em Cuiabá e isso se mostrou uma decisão muito acertada, pois com o veículo pudemos ter uma maior flexibilidade e velocidade de deslocamento. Acabamos fugindo um pouco do nosso planejamento e não resistimos a uma exploração dos quilômetros iniciais
da Transpantaneira, indo até a terceira ponte, que fica logo depois do Portal de entrada da estrada.
12 August On our first day of birdwatching decided to explore the surrounding area and the road linking the hotel to
PoconĂŠ, because we knew also be a place with great potential for beautiful pictures.
We rented a car in Cuiaba and this proved to be a very wise move, because the vehicle might have greater flexibility and travel speed. Just we are running away a little of our planning and not resist an exploration of the initial kilometers of the
Transpantaneira, going to the third bridge, which is just past the highway entrance portal.

13 ago No segundo dia fizemos algumas observações na área do hotel antes do café da manhã e depois partimos para
a Transpantaneira, não deixando de fazer algumas fotos, é claro, na ótima estrada que liga o SESC à Poconé.
A seca nessa época do ano é muito forte e o sol eleva bastante a temperatura. Não se vê uma nuvem no céu! Paramos no único bar da estrada (Km 32) para almoçar
e descansar um pouco. Após o almoço (que estava ótimo!) e um pequeno
descanso, resolvemos ir conhecer a Pousada Rio Claro (Km 42), onde havíamos reservado um “Day Use” para o dia seguinte. Conhecer a pousada foi uma boa desculpa
para fazer algumas fotos por lá!!
13 August On the second day we made some observations in the hotel area before breakfast and then set off to the
Transpantaneira, making some photos, of course, the great road linking the SESC to PoconĂŠ.
The dry this time of year is very strong and the sun rather raises the temperature. You do not see a cloud in the sky. We stopped at one bar road (Km 32) for lunch and some
rest. After lunch (which was great) and a little rest, we decided
to get to know the Pousada Rio Claro (Km 42), where we had booked a "Day Use" for the next day. Knowing the hostel was a good excuse to do some photos there !!

14 ago No terceiro dia acordamos antes do sol nascer e pegamos a estrada rumo à Transpantaneira. Ficamos hipnotizados com o lindo alvorecer na estrada que liga o SESC à Poconé. Percorremos a Transpantaneira até a Pousada Rio Claro, onde havíamos agendado um “Day Use”, com direito a um belo passeio de barco pelo rio Claro.
Durante o passeio de barco o autofoco da minha Sigma parou de funcionar e daí por diante todas as fotos foram feitas com foco manual. No início fiquei desesperado, achando que não conseguiria mais uma boa foto sequer, mas praticando um pouquinho logo estava cravando o foco, pelo menos nas aves que não se movimentavam tanto!
14 August On the third day we wake up before sunrise and took the road to Transpantaneira. We were mesmerized by the
beautiful dawn on the road linking the SESC to PoconĂŠ. We go through the Transpantaneira to Pousada Rio
Claro, where we had booked one "Day Use", complete with a beautiful boat trip along the river course. During the boat ride on the autofocus of my Sigma stopped working and so on all the pictures were taken with manual focus. At first I was desperate, thinking that
he could no longer even a good photo, but practicing a little bit was just nailing the focus, at least in birds not moved so much!

15 ago No último dia, já bastante cansados, resolvemos fazer apenas uma visita na Fazendinha do SESC após o café
da manhã. Nessa altura da viagem, eu já estava com mais de 3.000
fotos nos dois cartões de 32 GB da minha Nikon! Na volta, ainda fiz as últimas fotos no Hotel SESC, mas não foram de aves e sim de uma Iguana e um Jacaré pulando a cerca, literalmente!
15 August On the last day, already quite tired, we decided to make only one visit in Farm of the SESC after breakfast. Then the trip, it was already more than 3,000 photos in both 32GB cards from my Nikon! On the way back, still I made the latest photos on Hotel SESC, but were not birds but an iguana and alligator jumping the fence, literally!

Sul, both states of Brazil, it is considered by the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve. The North Pantanal's front door is the city of Poconé, located about 100 km from Cuiaba, the state capital of Mato Grosso. In Poconé starts the Transpantaneira dirt road with 147 km long and 120 bridges, ending in the town of Porto Jofre, the banks of the Cuiabá River.
