Interaction of Carmagnola
The North part of Carmagnola is an inactive and separated place from the rest of Carmagnola which has a good advantage in becoming a fun and enjoyable area. The Panoramic view along Via Novara is a fantastic view that can impress visitors to take on a lovely walk along a nice boardwalk with the sun shinning. This part of the town is unsafe, the main street Via Torino consist of heavy traffic of trucks, speeding cars and insecure crossings. Furthermore the area has several unused and abandone spaces that decreases the city’s aesthetic and unenjoyable. The aim of this intervention is to polish and organize the entire area and not leave any useless and abandone spaces but instead transforming them into a place. A place that will bring the citizens of Carmagnola into this part of town bringing up the live of the city. The concept is connections. A connection between the north part of Carmagnola where most of the inhabitants are foreigners and the rest of the city. Along with secondary connections of roads, spaces, functions, and buildings. The main part of the intervention is the Wooden Church Area, here two main pedestrian streets will be created to push people in two different directions, direction towards the boardwalk and panoramic view in Via Novara and the commercial street in Via Torino. The secondary streets forms the shapes of the different types of buildings and at the same time connects them. The functions of these buildings are given according to their position in the area: commercial building, sport center and the community center. Three open squares are shared by the three types of buildings with the main square in the center of the plot combining the community center, commercial center, and sport center. The functions of these squares are according to the functions of the secondary places that are spreaded around the area: Skating area, Market place, and an Exhibition area.

Design Process
STEP 1 The first main street was created. This street will push people from Via Torino, the commercial road, into Via Novara, the natural road, where this street will transform into a boardwalk for the panoramic view of the mountains.
STEP 5 Secondary streets were created in order to create connections and easy access between each public building. These secondary streets breaks each building separating the different functions within.
STEP 2 The second main street was then created. This street will push people from the natural road into the commercial. These both main streets gets wider as it reaches its end, that creates a perspective effect.
STEP 6 Secondary squares with roof were created in order to connect the buildings with the outside public space, where the cuts create an open gate towards the big squares.
STEP 3 The shape of these two main streets gives the area of the different types of public facilities: community center, sports center, and commercial center.
STEP 7 Each function was placed according to the connection concept for the buildings: functions that are similar will have a strong connection while functions that are different will have a weak connection between them.
STEP 4 In order to connect each public facility, common squares were created between them. Where we have one main square that connects all three.
STEP 8 Connections with the other plots were made. The Skating Park, Agricultural Fields, and Patchwork have connections with the urban squares in the design area.
