Au)or:Salvador Dali

Dalí employed extensive symbolism in his work. For instance, the hallmark "melting watches" that first appear in The Persistence of Memory suggest Einstein's theory that time is relative and not fixed.[26] The idea for clocks functioning symbolically in this way came to Dalí when he was staring at a runny piece of Camembert cheese on a hot August day.[66] The elephant is also a recurring image in Dalí's works. It first appeared in his 1944 work Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening. The elephants, inspired by Gian Lorenzo Bernini's sculpture base in Rome of an elephant carrying an ancient obelisk,[67] are portrayed "with long, multijointed, almost invisible legs of desire"[68] along with obelisks on their backs. Coupled with the image of their brittle legs, these encumbrances, noted for their phallic overtones, create a sense of phantom reality. "The elephant is a distortion in space", one analysis explains, "its spindly legs contrasting the idea of weightlessness with structure."[68] "I am painting pictures which make me die for joy, I am creating with an absolute naturalness, without the slightest aesthetic concern, I am making things that inspire me with a profound emotion and I am trying to paint them honestly." —Salvador Dalí, in Dawn Ades, Dalí and Surrealism. The egg is another common Dalíesque image. He connects the egg to the prenatal and intrauterine, thus using it to symbolize hope and love;[69] it appears in The Great Masturbator and The Metamorphosis of Narcissus. The Metamorphosis of Narcissus also symbolized death and petrification. Various other animals appear throughout his work as well: ants point to death, decay, and immense sexual desire; the snail is connected to the human head (he saw a snail on a bicycle outside Freud's house when he first met Sigmund Freud); and locusts are a symbol of waste and fear. Science [edit] References to Dalí in the context of science are made in terms of his fascination with the paradigm shift that accompanied the birth of quantum mechanics in the twentieth century. Inspired by Werner Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle, in 1958 he wrote in his "Anti-Matter Manifesto": "In the Surrealist period, I wanted to create the iconography of the interior world and the world of the marvelous, of my father Freud. Today, the exterior world and that of physics has transcended the one of psychology.

“Whilst Brancusi, Arp or Moore inspire a great part of his sculptural work closer to the occidental tradition, the artist still allows space for the free interpretation of Duchamp’s or Warhol’s countersigns. Endowed with an incredible intuition and ability, sensual, ironic, unembarrassed..., surreal with a dadaisti touches and the heart of a great romantic, Richard Hudson has, with no doubt a large sculptural imagination.” – Pilar Ribal – Simo January 2004 , Art Critic “Richard Hudson is an artist with a constant investigative tension. After exploring various paths in the sculptural field, he has arrived with work ,that is bursting with a mature energy.” – Luis Maria Caruncho , From the Spanish and international Art Critics “Hudson's direct engagement with his materials, the smooth highly polished surfaces, and the need to simplify, and reduce his forms to the emblematic, remind one of the work of Romanian Constantin Brancusi (1876-1957), also like Dada artist Jean Arp (1887-1966) he combines the elemental with a surreal humour ." Lynne Green - Member the British Arts Council "The daring and ingenuity of Hudson's sculpted forms engage and delight us. Gravity-defying 'drawings in space' are the result" - Lynne Green- Member the British Arts Council

Au)or:Yu#hito Yurihito Otsuki (Wakoshi, Japón, 1958) The Japanese artist is inspired by the greco-romanic mythology in a very personal and particular way , linking him to the italian transavantgarde is the Italian version of Neoexpressionism, an art movement that swept through Italy, and the rest of Western Europe, in the late 1970s and 1980s. The term transavantgarde was coined by the Italian art critic, Achille Bonito Oliva, and literally means beyond the avant-garde. This art movement rejected conceptual art, reintroducing emotion―especially joy―back into drawing, painting and sculpture. The artists revived figurative art and symbolism. Technical Data

investment Aran,azu Ma!in-

An academic painter from Vitoria, Spain. She attended the Fine Arts University of the Basque Country and graduated in 2000. Unable to find any classical art training, she moved to New York. There she enrolled in the New York Academy of Figurative Art (NYAA) MFA program and graduated in 2002. It was during this same year that she met her mentor, Jacob Collins, the founder of the Water Street Atelier, the Hudson River Fellowship and The Grand Central Academy. To develop her training still further she studied under him at the Water Street Atelier from 2002 to 2005, where she completed her training following the nineteenth century academic method. The technical expertise, the considered compositions, the exceptional treatment of light and the human form are evident and much appreciated in Martinez’s work. The symbiotic relationship of these elements creates imagery that evokes Romanticism and Symbolism. Her work has the ability to recreate a dream world where magic and fantasy are part of reality. The quality of her has been recognised internationally; she was commissioned by Lucasfilm Ltd. to take part on Star Wars Visions in 2009 and recently she has taken part in the international art project “Image of Russia” 2012 representing her native country. Most of her artwork belongs to private collections but now we can see some of her paintings in the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) in Barcelona, Spain.

Immortalized in the book Fake! by Clifford Irving and the movie F for Fake by Orson Welles, Elmyr de Hory claimed to have sold over 1,000 paintings to reputable galleries and dealers worldwide, faking works by masters such as Picasso, Modigliani, Matisse, and Renoir. He began his descent into forgery when his friends mistook his copies of famous painters’ works for originals, creating original works in the style of famous masters rather than copying existing images. Every so often he would try to sell his own paintings, but he never found a market for them and would return to the lucrative business of copying. De Hory was constantly short-changed and cheated by his business partners – at least one of whom may have signed the works with the names of the aped artist, as de Hory always denied doing this, maintaining that this made him innocent of criminal charges. Following his death by suicide, his paintings soared in value, such that de Horys have since themselves been forged.

Cement, wire, paper are some of the elements that Andrino uses to get the "form". Her work is characterized by the pursuit of an infinite materiality, after breaking with irony. Effort to find a sense diluted form takes you to have an almost dreamlike language. The attention to detail and his interest in texture are characteristics that manages to translate also into painting. The translation matter and volume pursues a symbolic, subtle and refined image. More than at other times you repeatedly call a second and third reading through the contradiction, the reflection on the cruelty of the craft, simplicity, and a subtle complaint are again present in small history of the salt of the Earth.

Dalmer surprises us with a theme very different and very close to his creations as chef, still lifes of food and raw materials. This great artist surprises from the beginning, in the imagination of all the concept of still life is a component of classical character and this will be one of the arguments that we come down. Color, textures, the three-dimensionality of the work, simple materials, some recycled... everything is a surprise. It is important to point out that in this exhibition the artist only uses hands directly on the canvas as a tool. His figuration is spontaneous, and fast, steady hand and safe gesture.
