Daily, act three This issue of Iveco Plus is completely dedicated to the New Daily. An issue different to the others in that it celebrates an extremely important event for Iveco: the commercial launch of the third generation of a product which helped make the brand what it is today. The first model was, in fact, launched in 1978 and since then it has always been an innovative vehicle in the light commercial vehicle sector and a market leader, with over 2 million 600 thousand vehicles sold across the globe. It has been an absolute leader in the daily life of many professionals in the transport sector, employed in delivering goods, in construction sites and also for transporting people. It is also a leader in terms of its consistent state of the art technology, offering its clients a complete range of different engines: from eco-friendly Diesel engines, to those powered by methane gas, and with electrical traction. The Daily Iveco has had global success, and today its legacy is represented in this brand new vehicle. While keeping the traditional strong points of the Daily, like its sturdiness, performance and versatility, these features are combined with a new range of truck boxes and greater comfort, improved handling and greater productivity. All of this to make the new vehicle a truck that remains unbeatable due to its power and versatility. And a van that we believe will become the new reference point for light, rear wheel drive commercial vehicles. Now more than ever, the Iveco New Daily offers an extremely broad range, which - combining wheelbase lengths, various fittings and engines - comes in some eight thousand versions. Thanks to which Iveco intends to win over new customers in the van segment of the market and strengthen its leadership in the chassis cab sector. A new page still to be written, based on the successes of the past, to provide a concrete and professional response to the most demanding customers. We hope you enjoy reading it. Maurizio Pignata

ALWAYS MORE DAILY THE NEW GENERATION

AFTER THE DAILY OF 1978 AND THE S2000 VERSION WHICH BROUGHT US INTO THE 21ST CENTURY, HERE IS THE THIRD GENERATION OF THE IVECO LIGHT COMMERCIAL VEHICLE. A COMPLETELY NEW DESIGN BUT ONE WHICH MAINTAINS THE QUALITIES OF ROBUSTNESS AND VERSATILITY. ADDING MORE SPACE, MORE COMFORT, MORE SAFETY AND REDUCED CONSUMPTION Changing it all, for it all to stay the same. This is the secret of the New Daily, a vehicle which in its 36 years has been continuously renewed but has never lost sight of its strengths. Strengths such as robustness, performance and versatility. Qualities connected to the specific base of the vehicle, based on a frame-based structure with rear wheel drive. This typical layout of a larger industrial vehicle, makes the New Daily a real small truck. Equipped with a robustness and a versatility unmatched by most other competitors. In fact, having a frame-based structure means that any type of special outfitting can be easily realised. After the first model launched in 1978, followed by the S2000 introduced in 1999 and continuously updated both in terms of mechanics and the design, this is the third generation of the Daily, destined to become market leader for the next 10 years. The new range of Iveco light commercial vehicles is, if it could be possible, even more complete and articulated, with six levels of gross vehicle weight - from 3.3 to 7 tons different wheelbase lengths, outfittings and nine engines. Making a total of more than eight thousand versions. Particular attention has been paid to the van range. And this wasn't by chance. In fact, in terms of light commercial vehicles,

4

demand is focused on this type of vehicle. Above all those with single wheels which make up 60 percent of the market. There are five chassis for the van version, with three wheelbase lengths: 3000, 3520 and 4100 millimetres. The vehicles on chassis with a greater wheelbase can in fact be normal with three rear overhangs or extended (3520 L and 4100 L). The design of the New Daily has allowed the cubic cargo capacity to be improved in comparison to the external dimensions of the vehicle. The useful space obtained is therefore greater than that of the competition. And in the larger version, the New Daily reaches a record cubic cargo capacity of almost 20 cubic metres. Greater load space therefore corresponds to more compact dimensions and remarkable handling when manoeuvring: characteristics which are greatly appreciated, above all by those who have to deliver goods in cities and towns. Road handling, as well as safety have both been given special attention. The front suspensions have been redesigned. The quad-leaf suspension design is the same as the one used in Formula 1. This intervention has improved handling and, at the same time the height from the ground has gone from 130 to 175 mm. Furthermore, the new suspensions of the New Daily weigh much

less, giving benefits in terms of dynamics and reduced fuel consumption. The rear suspensions have been redesigned providing advantages in terms of a reduction in the height of the load platform by approximately 55 millimetres, improved road holding and reduction of oversteer in load transfers when cornering. The result is a stable vehicle, with predictable reactions and the ability to reach a lateral acceleration when cornering of 0.74 g. Equal therefore to a good car. The increased road holding has been combined with a complete range of electronic stability and braking devices as well as the Lane Departure Warning System, which helps the driver remain in his lane and prevents accidents resulting from distractions or the driver falling asleep at the wheel. Another strength of the New Daily is the engine range. Even more so than in the past, Iveco is aiming for an extremely wide range. There are nine engines to choose from, with 2.3 and 3 litres, ranging from 106 to 205 HP and engines with Euro VI type-approval on the Heavy Duty versions. The Euro 5 b+ engines are available on other versions. These are less expensive and more simple from an operational point of view since they do not require the use of urea in the exhaust gas treatment. And, if we are talking about costs, we must remember that the New Daily can boast an average 5 percent reduction in fuel consumption. The cab has a new look which has been carefully designed down to the last detail. With a car-like driving style, including the driving position. And if the driving comfort can be matched to that of a saloon car, the interior compartment and the dashboard have been designed for maximum functionality with compartments where the driver can keep an array of items close to hand, including mobile phones, tablet and notebook. Thanks to the IVECONNECT platform the driver can manage the navigator, radio, MP3 player and Bluetooth easily from the display. The following pages will take you on a discovery of all the details of the New Daily 2014. IVECO DAILY VAN.

EIGHT THOUSAND VERSIONS

The New Daily is available with a range of six different gross vehicle weights, from 3.3 to 7 tons. The usable payload reaches 4.7 tons with a capacity of 3.5 tons. The van range comes with three different wheelbase lengths, five total lengths, three heights and nine cubic cargo capacities for the load compartment. There are six wheelbases for the cab versions and the flat body for the bodybuilders. The New Daily vehicles can be equipped with one of nine different engines with a power of between 106 and 205 hp. Add these together with the different elements and various equipment, means that we are able to offer a range with more than eight thousand versions.

MORE THAN 2.6 MILLION DAILY VEHICLES

The success of the Daily can be measured in numbers. Significant numbers like the 2.6 million vehicles produced in 36 years and sold in 110 countries worldwide. Iveco first introduced a light commercial vehicle in 1978, a vehicle which was available in the van or cab version, with different lengths and load capacities. Its name Daily emphasized the fact that it is the ideal companion in the daily work of a multitude of transport professionals, artisans and construction site or maintenance workers. Its main characteristic is that of the truck concept. Unlike other models which have a car-like driving style, the Iveco light commercial vehicle is designed and built like a real truck. In other words, with a strong frame-based structure and rear wheel drive. This design is what makes it particularly suitable for heavy duty use and above all allows Iveco and the bodybuilders to come up with an infinite number of versions for each type of use. Here is the Daily with its cold store, with the rack that can be raised for the maintenance of buildings or overhead lines, specialized for roadside assistance or as an emergency vehicles for fire fighters. These are just examples, because the possibilities for specialization are endless. The Turbo Daily arrived in 1985, with a direct injection diesel engine. The updates continued, making sure the model was always a step ahead of the competition. In 1999 the new model was introduced, with a more modern cab and equipped with turbo diesel engines with Common rail technology. More restyling and other updates followed in 2006, 2009 and 2012. The CNG engine was added to the wide range of 2.3 or 3.0 litre turbo diesel engines. The Daily 4x4 deserves a chapter of its own, the robust off-road vehicle with all-wheel drive deriving from the version with two drive wheels. Equipped with exceptional handling qualities, it is one of the most versatile all-road vehicles. The Iveco VM90, 4x4, descended from the Daily and has been adopted by the Italian Army and Armed Forces in many other countries: from Belgium to Poland, from Spain to Egypt, from Portugal to Canada, from the UAE to China. And with regards to China, we must remember that the Daily has been produced in Nonchino by Naveco since 1996, a joint-venture between Iveco and the local partner Nanjing Automobile Corporation.

THE PRESENTATION by Nicola Grande

SOCIETY LAUNCH

THE SPLENDID ROOMS OF THE ROYAL PALACE OF VENARIA WERE THE SETTING FOR THE PRESENTATION OF THE NEW DAILY. RICH IN HISTORY, THEY FORMED THE DÉCOR FOR THE COMMERCIAL LAUNCH OF THE MOST ANTICIPATED VEHICLE OF THE YEAR Finally the day that many have been waiting for has arrived. With the commercial launch of the new Daily, Strong by Nature, a new phase for the whole of Iveco has begun. To witness this radical change, journalists from all over the world were invited to the Royal Palace of Venaria, in Turin; an event made even more glamorous by the rich historical setting of the Savoyard Royal Palace. This is so because the Daily has drawn on its exceptional past to reappear on the market in a completely redesigned form, without repudiating its past and with an eye towards the future. During the presentation it was pointed out that the New Daily is actually two vehicles in one: a truck and a van. An innovative concept to best meet customers' needs. Franco Fusignani, Chief Operating Officer of Iveco, underlined the role played by Iveco

within CNH Industrial and the company's wish to create internal synergies for developing new services and projects. A path that has product innovation and quality, backed up by service, as its cardinal points. And the New Daily is a tangible evidence of this. Thanks to investments in technology and work methods optimised with the WCM method (World Class Manufacturing), the plant in Suzzara (Mantua) where the Daily has always been made, is today one of the most innovative and technologically advanced of the Group. Lorenzo Sistino, Iveco Brand President , also presented the industrial plan for the coming years, for which the New Daily is the first important step. Other fundamental assets for Iveco will be the development of new products in the EMEA, APAC and LATAM markets, with the introduction of new power supplies and

the optimisation of fuel consumption like the introduction of the Iveco Efficiency Package for the Stralis Hi-Way. Maurizio Stecco, Iveco Product Development & Engineering Light Trucks and Giuliano Giovannini, Iveco EMEA Product Marketing, then went into the design details of the New Daily, gradually going into greater details regarding Iveco's new way of conceiving light commercial transport; also regarding the products aligned to the expectations of fleet managers, which alone account for about 50 per cent of the total number of vehicles sold.

LORENZO SISTINO, IVECO BRAND PRESIDENT, BESIDE THE NEW DAILY VAN; IN THE BACKGROUND THE ROYAL PALACE OF VENARIA

The day after the presentation to the press, test drives were carried out to test the performance of the New Daily on the road. Fort the occasion the Balocco racetrack was chosen, just under a hundred kilometres from Turin. A track prepared to simulate the most varied driving conditions faced each day by drivers of the Daily. The whole range was made available to the journalists who came to personally check the dynamic qualities of the new vehicle. There were extremely positive responses and satisfaction for the decision of Iveco to invest in solutions aimed at consolidating the leadership of Daily on all markets was clearly evident. The endowment inherited from over thirty years of success has been well invested, with the creation of a completely new product, which operators really like, and who were able not only to try out the vehicles, but also talk with Iveco technicians who explained in detail what was new with respect to previous versions, especially as far as the engines and suspensions were concerned.

A MULTITUDE OF REASONS FOR CHOOSING THE DAILY

ON SALE FROM JUNE IN EUROPE, THE NEW MODEL WILL BE THE PARENT VEHICLE OF THE LIGHT VEHICLES PRODUCED AND SOLD THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. WITH THIS VEHICLE IVECO INTENDS TO CONFIRM ITS LEADERSHIP AND BEAT OFF THE MOST FIERCE COMPETITION IN THE EMBATTLED VAN SECTOR

«For Iveco the new Daily is an ambitious project», explained Vittorio Bussi, Head of Iveco Light Commercial Vehicles Product Management. «And there are two reasons for this. First of all because for over thirty years we have gained a reputation of excellence in this segment of the market and we want to confirm it for the future. Secondly, because we intend to deal with the best competition in the van sector, where the competition is fiercest. And we are not content with just facing up to the competition: we want to be successful». The Iveco Daily is a global vehicle, produced in various versions in Europe, in South America and in China. «The new model, on sale in Europe since June, is a genuine qualitative leap and the parent vehicle of future Daily vehicles that will be produced throughout the world». Iveco, then, has a global strategy that rests on two pillars: the experience gained since 1978 up until today and the new features of the Daily range. New features that touch almost every aspect, while still following in the wake of tradition. «Our vehicle - said Bussi - has a particular strong point in comparison to our competitors' products: it is the only one with a chassis with side members. The chassis structure is the one typical of transport vehicles and offers numerous advantages in terms of robustness and load capacity. Our competitors, on the other hand, use the solution of the load-bearing frame: certainly more convenient from a production viewpoint, but definitely not so convenient for the user or the fitter». The chassis with side members makes it easier to have any type of specially fittings and it is a winner also in terms of weight. To obtain the same robustness, in fact, a vehicle with a load-bearing frame should be appropriately reinforced and, in the end, it has a greater tare weight and a lower payload. «The choice of the independent chassis concept - continued Bussi - also allowed the designers to always have a structure optimised for the dimensions, the capacity and the mission of the vehicles by using a

series of frames with different lengths and thickness of the side members. We are convinced, then, that the chassis provides the best trade-off between load and weight of the vehicle. Moreover, this solution allows us to have the broadest range on the market, with a good eight thousand variants when we combine wheelbase lengths, fittings and engines. Also we are the only ones to cover the range between 5 and 7 tons of laden mass. The others stop at 5 tons». But the designers were also busy equipping the new Daily, and they focused on excellent dynamics ensuring they obtained a vehicle with an assured performance in any conditions and with handling and comfort characteristics comparable to those of a good car. «The Quad-Leaf suspension is totally new - explained Bussi - and is an important step forward compared to the previous generation of Daily. This is a brand new deformable wishbone suspension system that allows you to combine robustness with a lower weight (about -40 kg but with a permissible maximum load on the front axle of 1900 kg), and the comfort of vehicles of the lighter range, for example, they use the new deformable wishbone Quad-Leaf system: the same as that used on

racing cars. With the same robustness they are 40 kilograms lighter, to the benefit of fuel consumption and payload». Another winning feature of the new Daily is the cab, which has been completely redesigned to provide the comfort of a sedan without forgetting, however, the requirements of those who are at the wheel all day working. «While keeping the typical layout of a transportation vehicle, an authentic "little truck", the new Daily drives like a car and this is something that the public will definitely like». Finally, Bussi spoke about the engines: a definitely wide range of choices, with powers ranging from 106 to 205 HP and two engine displacement sizes (2300 and 3000cc). «An extremely broad range of choices - he said - that represent another strong point of the Daily with respect to the competition. And we also have the natural gas engine. Thanks to the weight reduction and the particular care that went into the aerodynamics, fuel consumption dropped on average by 5.5 per cent: one more good reason for choosing the Daily».

TECHNICAL FEATURES by Nicola Grande

A COMPLETELY NEW DESIGN

THE NEW DAILY IS READY TO CONFIRM ITS POSITION AS MARKET LEADER. A VEHICLE WHICH HAS BEEN COMPLETELY RENEWED FOLLOWING EIGHT MAIN GUIDELINES, REAL PILLARS AROUND WHICH THE THIRD GENERATION OF IVECO LIGHT COMMERCIAL VEHICLES ARE BASED

The task assigned to the design department was not an easy one: design the New Daily, while leaving the features which have made it famous all over the world unchanged. However, with a white piece of paper in front of you, it is easy to get carried away and lose sight of what the essential features of an

8

industrial vehicle are supposed to be. This is why the strategy we adopted was that of defining macro areas for intervention and development so that, in the end, the whole design would be perfectly harmonized like the workings of a high-end clock. The result was a completely revised vehicle,

both in terms of aesthetics and under the bodywork, with numerous improvements and unique solutions.

NEW ARCHITECTURE GREATER CUBIC CARGO CAPACITY (UP TO 19.6 m3) IMPROVED LOAD EFFICIENCY (WITH THE NEW 10.8 m3) NEW WHEELBASE RANGE WITH A REDUCTION IN THE REAR OVERHANG MORE ACCESSIBLE LOAD PLATFORM

All of this stemmed from the most representative detail of the New Daily: the chassis. In fact the New Daily has maintained its frame-based structure upon which the cab and van versions have been developed. This has led to a more versatile design thanks to the lowered flat body and optimised volumes maintaining exceptional driveability. 80 percent of the bodywork components have been designed making the New Daily the ideal van for even the most demanding client. And, especially in the single wheel version, it is the new point of reference for the entire sector. This is thanks to the introduction of new lengths and wheelbases which bring advantages in terms of load capacity which can now range from 7 to 19.6 m3. These exceptional indicators have meant that Iveco is also the market leader in this sector. The introduction of the new wheelbases has not increased the overall vehicle length which has remained the same as

the 2012 version; the wheelbases have been revised and optimised with a reduced rear overhang providing benefits in terms of the load capacity. These new features have led to an improvement also in terms of the Load Efficiency Index - EI, which measures the ratio between the length of the load compartment and the length of the vehicle expressed in an optimization of the load compartment. For the 10.8 m3 reference version, this EI has gone from 0.55 to an excellent 0.57: the best in its class for load efficiency. The EI reaches 0.60 in the 12 m3 van version. These results represent the best ratio between space in the cab (comfort) and cubic cargo capacity (productivity). Improvements have also been made in relation to the materials used in the design, leading to a considerable reduction in vehicle weight which reaches 1750 kg for the cab version. This too is a significant value and is one of the best also considering the type of traction. The van starts with an unladen weight of 2050 kg and in the 7 t version has

9

a useful payload which is the best in its class: 4000 kg. The New Daily van is available with five wheelbases and three heights (H1-1545 mm, H2-1900 mm and H3 – 2100 mm). Two heights are available for the minibus version (H2 and H3). The same improvements seen on the van have been applied to the cab version, with special attention being paid to outfitting and versatility, while maintaining the same indicators of the Daily 2012 to make the bodybuilders' work easier. Here too, the new wheelbases allow the vehicle to be optimized depending on the missions.

For example, the 4100 is the most suitable for extra-urban missions, while the 3750 is ideal for urban areas where handling is an important added value. Solutions which have brought considerable improvements in load capacity compared to the 2012 version.

The frame-based structure remains the feature which is specific to the New Daily and ensures resistance, flexibility and durability over time. Thanks to the separate chassis with C-section side members in special steel, the bodybuilders can rely on a solid base for the preparation of an infinite number of personalised versions. The bearing structure is an ideal solution for the vehicle's strength and modularity and ensures a Gross Vehicle Weight ranging from 3.3 to 7 t. The exhaust gas post treatment systems and the CNG cylinders for the Natural Power versions are safely housed within the side members. The strength of the New Daily is also guaranteed by the new Quad-Leaf suspension systems which have led to a maximum load of more than 100 kg compared to the past, as well as a weight reduction of 44 kg. For more heavy duty use, the Quad-Tor front suspension has brought the maximum load on the front axle to 2500 kg.

The new design of the New Daily has allowed an improvement in the air penetration coefficient bringing the CX from 0.335 in the 2012 version to 0.316 in the current version, with a reduction of 5.7 percent. These values are possible thanks to the new shape of the front of the vehicle with the rounded hood making the engine more accessible and a more modern and functional design of the wheel arch. The headlamps are also new and not only characterise the design but they are also positioned high up to avoid damage from minor knocks. The new shape has also taken into consideration the driver's comfort providing a wider windscreen making the cab brighter. These functional details highlight the strong personality of the New Daily. Ergonomics was the key word for the designers who, in addition to putting the controls in intuitive positions also chose materials which are pleasant to touch to increase the level of perceived quality and serve to reduce noise. The interiors therefore, have been completely redesigned to deliver the best possible feeling for the driver with the on-board controls. The driving position is a car-like position, it is more engaging and comfortable with the redesigned dashboard enhanced by the new instrument panel with multi-functional digital display which, depending on the outfitting, is one of two types Comfort and Matrix. The latter provides the driver with dynamic information and is self-adaptive allowing the use of a single software regardless of the vehicle outfitting. There are numerous storage compartments, three compartments created above the dashboard, with the one on the passenger side also being cooled.

HANDLING NEW SUSPENSIONS OPTIMIZED WHEELBASES TO IMPROVE DRIVEABILITY

The kerb-to-kerb turning circle of 10.5 metres is still the best in its class for the entire sector despite extended wheelbases. The architecture of the New Daily also includes the more advanced front and rear suspensions which allow a significant reduction in the weight increasing load capacity. There is also a new feature for the Quad-Leaf suspensions which have a working characteristic with the same performance as the Quad-Tor.

BEST TURNING CIRCLE IN ITS CLASS (10.5 m)

SUSPENSIONS: COMFORT, RELIABILITY, SAFETY AND PERFORMANCE The suspensions of the New Daily have been completely revised so that it adapts better to market demand. The new Quad-Leaf suspension system is at the front, standard on all models up to 4 t allowing a maximum load increased by 100 kg compared to past vehicles. Now the New Daily is available with two set-ups , the chassis cab version and the van with an increase of about 30 mm in the height from the ground over the truck version. The structure is based on a quadrilateral system with double swing arm and leaf spring, and has been completely redesigned to improve kinematic behaviour and guaranteeing maximum load of 1900

12

kg. For particularly heavy missions, the New Daily can be equipped with the robust Quad-Tor suspensions, standard on versions exceeding 3.5 t, bringing the maximum load to 2500 kg (2100 kg in versions up to 5 t) thanks to the use of a torsion bar in place of the leaf spring. At the rear, the New Daily is equipped with new geometry suspensions to reduce oversteer and can use air suspensions to ease loading and unloading operations. Thanks to this solution, the floor can be lowered by 55 mm, making the level one of the lowest in the rear drive van sector. The new suspensions improve contact with the ground and vehicle dynamics reduce roll and pitching. The stiffness when cornering, moreover, has been increased by 45 per cent without the aid of a front stabilising bar.

(Selective Catalytic Reduction) and DPF. Compared to the Euro 5 approval, the Euro 5b+ has a different calibration of the ECM control unit to control emissions even better; a recalibration that provides a system for controlling that the on board engine sensors (IUPR In User Performance Ratio) are working correctly and constantly, so that respect for polluting emissions levels are always respected. The FPT Industrial F1A Euro 5b+ engine is equipped with second-generation Multijet Common Rail power supply with piezoelectric injectors working at 1600 bar and allowing up to 8 consecutive injections. The F1C Euro VI engine from FPT Industrial is also powered by a Common Rail system. In this case the injectors are solenoid injectors and operate at over 2000 bar. They are equipped with flame guards with flat washers and also allow up to 8 multiple and consecutive injections. Compared to the Euro 5b+, the Euro VI is equipped with an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) exhaust gas treatment system with CUC (Clean Up Catalyst) for low operating costs. This system uses AdBlue and transforms the Urea into oxygen and nitrogen. The AdBlue circuit has a constant feed pressure of 5 bar.

The New Daily offers the possibility of carrying out regeneration with a new control logic of the DPF. This optimises the restore phases of the optimal operating conditions of the filter. This can take place through three different regeneration modes: automatic, in the workshop using Easy and “on demand” for the DPF to be cleaned by the driver. For all versions and approval types, the Lambda probe is now positioned directly on the catalytic converter and is no longer on the pre-catalytic converter. On the New Daily, and for all versions and type-approvals, the DOC and the DPF have been integrated into one single system (Close-Coupled DPF) mounted at the exit of the turbine engine with the advantage of reducing DPF regeneration times and minimising the dilution of the engine lubricating oil.

VAN, CAB, CREW CAB, MINIBUS SINGLE OR TWIN WHEEL MAXIMUM OUTFITTING EASE

To respond to all transport needs, there are two distinct architectures of the New Daily allowing six different versions to be realised for maximum versatility: van, cab, crew cab, semi-glazed, cowl and minibus. A rich starting point meaning that a vehicle can be created which is perfect for specific needs with more than a possible eight thousand configurations. A multi-purpose vehicle in the single wheel and twin wheel version variants. The load compartments are large and, from the 10.8 m3 version you can load a 1200 x 800 mm EuroPallet also by the side door. The Gross Vehicle Weight of the van ranges from 3.3 to 7 t, with a cubic cargo capacity starting at 7.3 and reaching 19.6 m3. These cubic cargo capacities have been possible thanks to the different available heights in combination with the lengths (from 5040 to 7500 mm) and wheelbases (from 3000 to 4100 mm) which are the best in its class.

PROFITABILITY 5.5% REDUCTION IN FUEL CONSUMPTION “ECOSWITCH” MODE FOR MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY IMPROVED AERODYNAMICS CAPACITY INCREASE UP TO 40 kg USEFUL PAYLOAD UP TO 4.7 t

The new design of the Daily, together with the use of innovative technology has led to improvements also in terms of consumption with a reduction of approximately 5 percent. In particular, the adoption of technology like the Smart Alternator has contributed to optimising engine profitability. The Smart Alternator is an alternator which only works in specific conditions of use; it is automatically and individually regulated by means of an electromagnetic field controlled via the LIN line by the engine management electronic control unit and by the battery charge level (checked by the IBS sensor). The New Daily Euro 5 b+ is equipped with the ECOSWITCH function to optimise consumption and emissions. In this mode, which can be activated by means of a control on the dashboard, the power and torque ELECTRONICS AT THE SERVICE OF THE BUSINESS Below a completely renewed body, the New Daily can boast a state-of-the-art electronic structure to respond better to the needs of mobility in different missions. One of the most significant new features include the new position of the battery making it more accessible and maintaining lower operating temperatures. The battery is now positioned below the seat on the passenger side and it is equipped with a Battery Control Unit (CBA) with fuses for electronic management. The secondary positive distribution fuses for the control of the SCR, ABS and other functions are located inside the engine compartment in the CBA2. Through the CBA2. The SCM control unit (Engine Wiring Box) is still in the engine compartment for the positives to be distributed. Another new feature of the New Daily is provided by the new Multiplex system which has the Body Computer in the heart of the electronic architecture as it connects and monitors the two CAN lines on the vehicle: the B-CAN and the C-CAN which, depending on outfitting, manage more than 20 electronic control units. The B-CAN is of the "star pattern" type with the Body Computer as the hub for all the information. The ALM

delivered are limited and maximum speed is also limited to 125 km/h. The driver is made aware of the activation of this function by the “ECO” symbol on the display which is part of the instrument panel. For F1A engines there is also the possibility of having the Start&Stop function which lowers fuel consumption by up to 9 percent in urban missions. The combination of the EcoSwitch and Start&Stop functions in the Full-Eco pack lead to a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 14 percent in urban missions. The new architecture has allowed the overall weight to be reduced bringing the difference between the New Daily and a front drive vehicle to just 63 kg, increasing the load capacity which, at almost 20 m3 is the highest in its class. This means that moving the same volumes can be done with fewer journeys, reducing costs and increasing productivity. The 15 differential ratio variants also allow outfitting to be optimised on the basis of the mission and providing the right balance also in terms of performance. Profitability is also measured long-term. All the technology and solutions adopted on the New Daily allow for a high resale value.

The ECM (Engine Control Module) for the New Daily Euro VI is here and it is from here that the 500 Kilobyte/sec EC-CAN starts in order to control the three sensors for the SCR system, two to control the NOX and one for NH3 (ammonia sensor). The MIL warning light is also new. This identifies the errors communicated by the engine management control unit to identify faults in the emission levels.

COMFORT CAR-LIKE DRIVING STYLE NEW SEAT AND NEW CONTROL POSITIONS IMPROVED ACOUSTIC INSULATION IMPROVED VISIBILITY NEW CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM NEW INFOTELEMATIC OFFER

Three main aspects were focused on in order to improve comfort: driving position, on-board comfort and ergonomics. The driving position now feels the same as in a good passenger car and visibility and driving feeling have been improved with the windscreen raised by 40 mm and the seat lowered by 15 mm, the steering wheel is of a smaller diameter (from 410 to 390 mm) and the inclination is less vertical (from 49° to 42°). Numerous storage compartments have been created so that everything is tidy and hidden from view. In fact there are five closed storage compartments as well as a number of cup holders and DIN slots. Spaces have been created within the seating and also the backrests can be turned into useful tables. Comfort has been improved further and the New Daily comes available with a manual heater or with a climate control system (manual or automatic). Optionals include the PTC, additional 1 kW electric heater and the Webasto to heat the engine water and the cab. The infotainment on the New Daily means that the vehicle is placed on the market with first class outfitting.

16

In fact, Iveconnect communicates with the Body Computer through the vehicle CAN line and the information can be read on a 7” touch screen display. It can be equipped with an additional USB and AUX module. The systems, which can be found be referring to the Accessory Line, allow new options for clients who are looking for a truly personalised New Daily. There are new features in terms of safety, with systems such as the ESP as standard on all versions and the LDWS (Lane Departure Warning System) which communicates with the steering angle sensor (SAS); it is equipped with an integrated camera which cannot be disabled. While considering comfort, our engineers also thought about loading and unloading operations, lowering the rear floor with a ground clearance which has gone from 550 mm to 460 mm and the load platform from 730 mm to 675 mm. The steps used to access the cab have also been lowered going from the 530 mm of the 2012 Daily to the current 490 mm.

NEW GENERATION OF MINIBUS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE IN COMPLIANCE WITH EURO VI STANDARDS

The New Daily Minibus will also be available in a variety of versions to meet the needs of customers who operate in the passenger transportation sector, both in urban areas and for rapid transfers outside of urban networks. Iveco Bus, one of the European leader in this sector, proposes the New Daily as result of an important design project that goes well beyond solutions to comply with Euro VI imposed emission levels and has lead to the creation of an entirely new vehicle, combining the well-known qualities of Daily with the competence of a leader in the sector of collective passenger transport. The entire production process has been optimised thanks to new methods and control systems, but above all thanks to the introduction, in the Suzzara plant, which produces the New Daily, of a new production line entirely dedicated to Minibus production, something that has brought about a clear improvement in quality. The new generation of Daily Minibus offers all the advantages of the New Daily, which include new architecture, new range of longer wheelbases, new interior and exterior designs, new driving position with ergonomic dashboard, all in four different versions for four main types of missions: interurban, tourist, urban and scholastic. The on-board safety and well-being of the driver and passengers are a priority for Iveco Bus. The driver can rely on safety systems like the ESP9 and LDWS as well as on a level of comfort and driving that are more than comparable with those of a car. The new

seat with a lowered seating point and the smaller steering wheel provide improved vehicle handling. The new Daily Minibus is equipped with a new generation radio that includes not only modern infotainment systems and Bluetooth telephony but also a navigation system (Iveconnect). Passenger comfort is guaranteed thanks to new and modern interiors, designed to make even long journeys pleasant with improvements to climate control system and ventilation, whilst air suspensions also help smooth the ride. Among the main new features, the 6.1 ton version with longer 4100 mm wheelbase , new top of the range, that allows 22 passengers to be seated, not counting the driver and a chaperone (the most that a vehicle of this category is able to carry) along with 30% extra space in the luggage compartment compared to previous versions. The eco-friendly engines- Diesel Euro VI and methane Natural Power – ensure reliability, optimal performance and low operating costs. The new Daily minibus range is equipped with F1C 3.0 L Diesel and CNG engines. In order to comply with Euro VI emission levels on Diesel engines, the SCR system (Selective Catalytic Reduction) was added as on the rest of the Bus range, guaranteeing high performance and low fuel consumption. The Daily Minibus is available in the versions Line, Tourys, Citys and Pop: Daily Line is the most versatile version, ideal for interurban routes or use as school bus. It is available in three different lengths with two

types of doors, different passenger layouts, seats up to 22 and with specific optionals such as wheelchair ramp for passengers with impaired mobility Daily Tourys is the tour bus version that is similar to a grand tourer vehicle both in terms of comfort and style. The “family feeling” is even more evident in the version with the range of Grand Tourer Iveco Buses. The vehicle features all new floor and ceiling trim and comes with other features such as LED lights and individual climate control vents; Daily Citys is the class A or class I model exclusively designed for transport in small urban and suburban areas. Also available in the CNG version, the vehicle features a double central door and a rear door with wheelchair access thanks to a dedicated ramp Daily Pop is the school bus for the Italian market. Available in Diesel and CNG version, it has a maximum sitting capacity of 45 passengers for grade school and 32 for upper school use.

COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES

AN EXCELLENT VEHICLE THAT DESERVES A COMMUNICATION STRATEGY UP TO THE JOB

FROM PRESS ADVERTISEMENTS TO THE INTERNET, FROM SOCIAL NETWORKS TO TELEVISION, FROM APPS FOR TABLETS AND SMARTPHONES, TO SPONSORSHIP OF THE MOTO GP. THIS IS HOW IVECO IS ANNOUNCING THE NEW DAILY

There are numerous initiatives for the launch of the New Daily, which is on sale from June in Iveco European dealerships both in the right-hand drive version as well as the lefthand drive version. The advertising campaign in the press features various announcements for the three basic types of Daily: the van, the chassis cab and the minibus. The advertisements will appear mainly in specialist publications and magazines, and in some sports daily newspapers. The headline, “Strong by nature”,

18

confirms to our clients that the Daily has maintained its DNA , the qualities of robustness and reliability that have always been part of the model's characteristics. In line with our "business-to-business” communication strategy, the media plan for the New Daily will make heavy use of the web. The New Daily in this way has ample space in all Iveco internet sites with sections dedicated to the model. But a lot of attention will be paid also to the social media: from YouTube, to Flickr and Facebook, where the official Iveco page has reached half a million followers. A remarkable number for a company that does not deal with the general public but rather with road haulage professionals. To get over the most important aspects of the vehicle, Iveco has made short films for

Facebook and YouTube. Eight video snapshots, each focusing on one of the main features of the New Daily. In just six days they had over 16,000 views. A free interactive App was developed for smartphones and tablets during the launch period, which allows you to get even closer to the vehicle and appreciate all its features even using mobile devices. The App is available for the iPhone and iPad and also for the Android platform. It can be downloaded from the Apple Store and from the Iveco site. And that is not all. the New Daily will also be present with advertisements in the most visible points along the Assen raceway in Holland this June 28, where a stage of the Moto GP will have Iveco as a sponsor. The GP, in fact, will be called “Iveco Daily TT Assen”. This is an event that is followed, in addition to those present, by over 30 million viewers around the world. And with regard to TV, the most important news: a sixty second commercial dedicated to the New Daily that will be aired in some countries during the transmission of the World Cup. A truly global launch.

NEW SERVICES FOR NEW CLIENTS

SERVICE EXCELLENCE, CLIENT LOYALTY AND DISTRIBUTION SYNERGY APPLIED TO THE NEW DAILY

20

It is becoming more and more common for the choice of a vehicle to be based not only on the price but also on the aftersales services offered. The better the actions and post-sales activities for the entire lifespan of the vehicle, above all in terms of lowering the TCO, and the more likely the client will be to purchase it. This new way of selling products has, in just a few short year, revolutionised the purchasing process. We met up with Dino Maggioni, president of CNH Industrial Parts & Service to discuss this topic in more detail.

the availability of spare parts to the network, and from there to the end customer, promptly right from the product launch. It is a major challenge as we have ensured that all the dealers are able to have a stock of spare parts from the moment the vehicle is marketed. This ensures that the client can rely on an adequate repair service in less time. Procurement activities for the parts from suppliers have been coordinated with the Purchasing departments and the Plants. Internal logistics is changing to meet the

Are after-sales services becoming more of a discriminating factor when it comes to choosing a vehicle? Absolutely. During the purchase phase client orientation has moved away from simply evaluating the price, and moved towards those additional services which allow the owner to reduce costs over the medium and long term. The Total Cost of Ownership has in fact become a fundamental element when making financial decisions. What has Iveco done to satisfy the new needs of clients? We have moved decisively on several fronts and the launch of the New Daily has been an important opportunity for us to highlight the necessary evolution in spare parts management throughout the supply chain, from the supplier to the dealer, and throughout the entire cycle life of the vehicle. In particular, we have worked to develop

competitive conditions in which we want to be sure to excel. During the meetings with dealers and with our clients, we have gathered valuable information to be used to its full potential in our distribution which is already extremely widespread in many markets. So readiness and availability of service? Yes, to have spare parts readily available becomes essential if you want to provide an adequate repair service, right away. For example, for the New Daily, we defined a list of 100 spare parts which are part of a supply kit for the maintenance and repair of the vehicle. In addition, the ideal stock is suggested to the dealer, rigorously updated through Ramses (the stock management system of dealers, editor's note) and, if not used after 12 months of storage in warehouses, it is returned. This is to lighten the investment of the network and ensure an adequate

supply of the most popular spare parts, encouraging a logistics management which is oriented to the dealer's availability and responsiveness to the end customer. So are we just talking about spare parts? Spare parts are crucial to the profitability of our network and customer satisfaction. These are along side the accessories which offer the possibility of personalising the product, taking into consideration the differences in the markets and the missions. For the New Daily, in particular, we have a range of products with a level of quality and functionality to satisfy clients in the most demanding markets. Personalisation has both a functional and an aesthetic connotation. And emphasizes safety and comfort. Iveco has also always been very attentive to sustainability This year, the most important innovation in this regard is the increased supply of Reman spare parts. As part of the Total Cost of Ownership for vehicles in the oldest parks, clients require reconditioned parts or, as we say, Reman. Aside from their competitiveness and quality assurance (our regeneration process is carried out within the FPT plant of Garchizy), the interesting aspect is the environmental sustainability and waste limitation. A demolished spare part in fact, creates waste, while if the same piece, and I am thinking of engines as an example, is reconditioned in the factory to make it as efficient as if it were new, then the reconditioned spare part can be a viable solution. In some markets of Northern Europe, it is a preferred choice to a new spare part. What is one of the most significant features of the Iveco network? The original spare part is of great economic value to the network and it will be even more so in the future. That's why we plan to invest even more in the coming months. Professionalism and experience in repair interventions are on a par. Then there is the capillarity which is our distinguishing feature. We are extremely close to our clients, also physically: we have the highest density

in the industry with regards to points of sales and service. The capillarity adds to the capacity of our network to assist both the light and heavy commercial vehicles. Many competitors who do not have light commercial vehicles in the range have a less dense network, opening up service business opportunities for Iveco workshops. For this reason we have developed the All Makes line of spare parts, available to Iveco and non-Iveco clients. The dealers who are most attentive to the use of spare parts as a means of generating profit and obtaining business - attacking parts penetration and the potential market represented by the clients of the other vehicle competitors - have understood that. Services are also used to build customer loyalty, so how is Iveco behaving in this area? Customer loyalty to our network and

our spare parts and accessories is one of the three primary objectives of Parts and Service (the other two are service excellence and distribution synergies with the CNHI business). For the New Daily clients we have developed a loyalty programme called Club Daily, which will bring advantages, additional benefits and additional services to all New Daily clients. It is still in its early days and will evolve over time as the needs vary based on the life of the vehicle with specific services, also defined according to the peculiarities of the markets. This is because it is in our interest, and in the client's interest to make sure that the Daily is "faithfully" kept by our service network as our professionals know better than anyone the specifications and features of this vehicle. The launch of the New Daily underlines the increasingly important role of customer service even more than before. The unique aspects of this management

philosophy and the relationship with the network and end-users are the immediate availability of spare parts and accessories, programmes which increase customer loyalty and Group synergies with offers to the network through the distribution, service and value-added services such as "Elements", the specific programmes for scheduled maintenance.

New vehicles, new accessories. This is how the range of articles introduced by Parts&Service could be summarised, to make the New Daily even more unique. The design engineers and the Centro Stile Fiat were directly involved in the creation of the catalogue offering a wide range of quality products.

This was in close collaboration with suppliers and professionals from Parts & Service and together they took up the challenge and created unique and state of the art accessories. “It was an extremely stimulating and absorbing job – says Davide Capozzoli, of CNH Industrial Parts&Service. We created a completely new catalogue with over 100 articles all developed according to the very highest quality and safety standards. The “Full vision” system for example, is a technological hub which not only provides the typical audio functions but is also a satellite navigator onto which maps have already been downloaded with the Iveco and Campers points of interest. A multimedia system with a 6.2’’ high definition touch screen display, complete with a rear camera to increase safety during vehicle manoeuvres. “We have focused - Capozzoli goes onto say - on the provision of additional services for clients who need a vehicle

IVECO CAPITAL by Nicola Grande

FINANCIAL SERVICES FOR EVERY NEED

FOR THE NEW DAILY IVECO OFFERS ITS CLIENTS AN APPROPRIATE SOLUTION TO EVERY NEED, INCLUDING PERSONALISED PLANS FOR VEHICLE PURCHASE AND MAINTENANCE The client always comes first. This a clear and concise concept which Iveco Capital strictly adheres to with dedication to offer personalised services to those who are interested in our brand. Made to measure financial products offering solutions for purchasing Iveco vehicles, including the New Daily. “2014 – says Saverio Cacopardo, end client finance director for EMEA of Iveco Capital - has been a year of great change within Iveco Capital, a year which has seen Iveco Capital completely restructured on an international level. At the beginning of the year, Iveco Capital teamed up with the Joint Venture which CNH Capital has had for many years with BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, one of the most important European players in financing and leasing. With the financial support of BNP Paribas, Iveco is able to provide its clients with more competitive financial solutions and its dealers with a strategic sales tool”. The JV will be able to offer distribution suitable to the capillarity of the Iveco network as well as the knowledge of commercial vehicles and after-sales services, in synergy with all the other companies of CNH Industrial. Thanks to these skills, the Fast Start promotion was launched

in January offering a series of incentives for the purchase of the New Daily. This programme has been greatly appreciated by both dealers and clients. In fact, since the beginning of the year the number of applications for financing made by IVECO clients has risen by almost 20% in Italy and Germany and by a staggering 40% in France.

“The choice to include Iveco in the JV activity which had already been developed successfully for many years by our group in the agricultural machinery and earth moving equipment sector was helped - Cacopardo says - by the in-depth knowledge of the needs of this sector

considering the differences in the European markets. This means that IVECO Capital will always be able to respond appropriately and with greater flexibility to the clients' needs in comparison to traditional banks. Furthermore, thanks to the advanced IT systems and contract processing, it will be able to offer one financing solution not only for vehicle purchase but also for additional services which are included in offers by Iveco. This will make life easier for our clients and lower the vehicle's TCO costs”. Yes, because Iveco Capital not only offers personalised financial solutions for the purchase of a vehicle but it also provides repayment plans for scheduled maintenance offered by the brand which is essential if the vehicle is always to be in perfect working order. It is a question of targeted investments which are spread out over the year in small monthly payments, both for hire purchase plans and leasings, taking into consideration the company's sector, financial situation and fiscal position. Iveco Capital financial specialists are on hand at all Iveco dealerships to recommend the most suitable services based on the client's needs. An added value which is chosen every year by more and more of our clients.

PRESENT WORLDWIDE

2014 has not been a year of change for Iveco Capital just in Europe: in Brazil, since the 1st of January, financial solutions for end clients have been provided by Banco CNH Industrial Capital, also part of the Iveco Capital brand. Banco CNH Industrial Capital has always been the captive in Brazil of the CNH group and since January of this year, it has been operating from the offices of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, also for Iveco dealerships and clients, mainly with financial solutions subsidized by the Bank for the development of Brazilian investments (BNDES) with the PSI.

AD HOC SOLUTIONS FOR THE NEW DAILY

CNHI Capital Europe allows IVECO Capital to formulate specific promotions which can be integrated within the financial product of all Iveco services such as repayment plans, insurance and scheduled maintenance. In fact, the financial products extend to cover vehicle management: for outfitting costs, Elements maintenance contracts and also insurance cover such as Gap, fire and theft, full cover and credit protection. The initiative aimed at the New Daily, in the countries where it is available, offers financial, insurance and vehicle maintenance services in one repayment plan allowing the client to optimise vehicle management costs. The cost of maintenance and repair services and the extended warranty can in fact be spread out within the leasing contract on the basis of the specific needs of the client. The insurance products ensure maximum vehicle protection through limited monthly payments which remain constant for the entire period of the leasing.
