LEATHERS - MAINTENANCE
All B&B Italia leathers are aniline dyed, which gives better comfort and resistance to scratching (through dyeing).
• Beta Leather coated with polyurethane film
• Alfa • Gamma
• Koto 100% natural leather
• Kasia • Kora
LEATHERS – Beta
A very robust, scratch-resistant leather, perfectly suited for chairs and small furnishing complements. This system makes it possible to make products that have all the benefits of leather while containing costs.
LE PELLI B&B ITALIA
Leathers – Alfa
Alfa is a “resilient” type of leather, as its considerable thickness and the type of tanning process used make it more rigid and less deformable. These features make it particularly suitable for “stretched” upholstered furniture, without seat cushions (e.g. Andy, Tufty Time). The lack of seat cushions, in fact, requires a cover capable of carrying the weight of the body without losing its shape over time.
Leathers – Gamma
Gamma has a smooth semi-opaque surface, and a soft and silky hand, which makes it especially versatile and enhances the feeling of comfort. Thanks to its contained thickness, this leather is more elastic and thus especially suited to products designed with curved shapes (Grande and Piccola Papilio, Bend-Sofa, Fat-Sofa..).
Leathers – Koto
Natural leather with soft texture. Suited to all types of products BUT, given its extremely delicate structure (no protective finish is applied) and value, we do not advise using this leather for products destined for intense wear or at risk of getting dirty. This leather requires special care to prevent scratches.
Leathers – Kasia & Kora
Due to its particularly soft, silky texture, these are the most prestigious leathers. For these reasons, these leathers are most suited to “soft” products padded with down (e.g. Ray, Richard, Solatium) We do not advise using this leather for products exposed to intense wear or at risk of getting dirty.
Maintenance – Kasia
A few simple, fundamental rules will allow you to enjoy the quality and beauty of Kleo leather for a long time. - Regularly use a clean dry cotton cloth to release dust from the pores of the leather. - Avoid vigorous rubbing; use gentle circular movements (like a massage)
- Do not use detergents, water and all liquids in general - To remove stains, dab immediately with a paper towel or dry cloth. Only absorb the stain.
- Maintain a constant level of humidity on the exposed part of the product.
Do not expose the cover to direct sunlight or a heat source for a long period of time.
Maintenance – Alfa, Beta, Gamma, Koto, Kora
- Regularly use a clean dry cotton cloth to release the dust from the pores of the leather. - Avoid vigorous rubbing; use gentle circular movements (like a massage) - Apply products contained in the B&B Italia Leather Care Kit (or a mixture of 50% milk and 50% water) 2-3 times a year - For stains, immediately dab with paper towels or a dry cloth to prevent the leather from absorbing the stain. Then use a sponge soaked in a leather cleaning product (for furniture leather) or a solution of 50% milk and 50% water We recommend testing every product on a small section of the leather that is hidden from view. - Maintain a constant level of humidity on the exposed part of the product.
Do not expose the cover to direct sunlight or a heat source for a long period of time.
